This hostel has everything that you would expect from a hostel.....except a cleaner!! Be prepared for lots of dust, there was a little pile of withered leaves on my bed when I first walked in! Stayed in a twin private which was a bunk bed in a tiny room. It has a large kitchen and bar which were good. Staff were friendly. Location is just off the main street and Colonia is small so you can walk everywhere

Hostel is located about a 10 minute walk from town. Really good atmosphere. We were there for one of the asado nights and it was amazing! All the meat you can eat and plently of beer and wine for 120pesos. Make sure to sign up for it if it is on during your stay. Staff were friendly and the XL tour to the glacier is very good. Only negatives were that the rooms were slightly cramped for four people and my locker did not lock

A really nice B&B about a ten minute walk uphill from Ushuaia main street. The views are amazing! Raul is friendly and the breakfast provided was very nice. Beds are extremely comfortable and the ensuite is big. Only stayed for one night but would have stayed much longer had there been availability

Loved this hostel. Staff go out of their way to help you and make your stay an enjoyable one. We stayed in the twin room which was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was good. Tours are offered and explained well but not forced upon you which is nice. We booked a tour through the hostel and it was excellent. Location is really nice, right beside the beach and a short walk from town

Stayed in the double which was a really nice room however it was very noisy at night as the window is onto a busy street. Location was about a ten minute walk from the centre but very close to the mercado. Staff and atmosphere were ok, not the best I've experienced however

Location is a little bit of a walk from the centre of town, about 10-15minutes. That would be my only fault. Otherwise everything is as you would expect in a hostel. One of the best book exchanges I have ever seen, you would need half the day to look at all the books! Breakfast is nice and the bar is good in the eveneings. Overall we had a good stay

Stayed in the 4 bed dorm which was a little cramped. Nice courtyard area with a pool and lots of places to sit and relax. Staff were friendly and there was a good atmosphere every night at the bar. Tours were cheap also. Would recommend

This is a great hostel. The games room is one of the best I've seenl. The atmosphere was lacking slightly when we stayed however we did not mind as we had the pool table to ourselves all evening! Staff were very friendly and helpful, they even wanted to go to the bus station to book our tickets for us when we asked about buses. I would also recommend to book the colca canyon tour through them, we did and we had a great two days. Rooms are nice and big however the kitchen is tiny!

This is a hotel rather than a hostel. Rooms are nice and spacious and the ensuite was a nice luxury! Free tea and coffee all day also. Hotel is located close to the town centre. Arrived very early (4am) on our first day and they allowed us into our room and did not charge us for an extra night which was great

Stayed in the double which was more like a hotel room than a hostel room! Hostel is located in San Blas which is a bit of a walk uphill especially if your not used tot he altitude however it is worth it as it is a beautiful neighborhood. Breakfast is really good with eggs made to order. Staff give very good information on things to do in Cusco also

Backpackers Family House is an excellent hostel in a great location in Lima. Pedro is a wonderful host who also provides really good Spanish lessons - he also can make a great Pisco Sour!! The atmosphere in the hostel makes it very easy to meet people. Overall one of the best hostels of our trip so far

Good hostel with a good atmosphere. Close to all the bars and restaurants. Ladder was broken on my bunk which would have been the only issue. Came here after staying in the old town for two nights and it is a nicer place to stay. Old town is nice to visit during the day but not so great at night!

Drop Bear Hostel

Santa Marta, Colombia

Really nice hostel with a great pool and bar area. Big kitchen for cooking and a massive TV area. The hostel is a about a thirty minute walk to the centre of Santa Marta however you can get a bus if needs be. The only downside was the Australian staff member who was extremely rude when we were there, felt like we were a massive inconvenience to him when we asked him any questions. Speak to any of the female staff members if you need info, they are extremely helpful

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hi guys, thanks for staying with us. My apologies if you thought I was rude to you during your stay. I normally pride myself on my customer service, it's the most important part of my job. I do recall I was quite sick when you were here and I was getting around on a walking stick, so perhaps you just caught me on a bad day. I've personally received really good reviews on here and TripAdvisor. Regards, Gabriel.

Bambu Hostel

David City, Panama

Stayed at the front of the hostel and the room was very dirty. Looked like they had a nicer area out the back so maybe stay there if possible. They were in the process of building an outdoor kitchen & bar area when we were there which would be a nice addition. Spoke to the owner who was friendly and welcoming however one member of staff was not and he took over the tv area with his girlfriend in the evening. Indoor kitchen was not the best either.

Had a great few days in Mamallena. Stayed in Mamallena in Panama City and Colombia and this was by the far the best one. There was a BBQ organised the first night we stayed and for five dollars you got a mountain of food and lots of free wine and rum! Great common areas and it is located right in the centre of Boquete. They also organise lots of trips and free hikes so they cater for everything. Free pancake breakfast every morning also

Hostel is located about a twenty minute walk from the centre of Bocas however they provide bikes for free which are great for getting around. Rooms are very nice and are cleaned daily. Staff also very helpful for organising tours and onward travel for us. We heard after that the area was not the safest however we had no issues at all when we stayed there even when walking back from town after a night out!

Hostel is located about a five minute walk from the centre of town however it is right across the road from the Black Beach which you will have to yourself at all times of the day! Nice hostel about a fifteen minute walk from the centre of Cahuita. You have a full cabin to yourself which was nice with a good double bed and ensuite. Porch area was nice in the evenings to sit out in if you are comfortable with the insects that the light will attract! We saw a sloth on a tree just outside the entrance too when we stayed! Only downside was that staff were not around all the time and the area was very quiet.

Only stayed for one night however it seemed like a good hostel. The free breakfast is nice and the location is good for San Jose. We had previously stayed in Costa Rica Backpackers and we much prefered this location and hostel. Atmosphere was lacking when we stayed however it was the low season so that was to be expected. Would definitely recommend a stay if in San Jose. Try the pizza place around the block also which was very nice

Very nice hostel right in the centre of La Fortuna. Very good facilities and felt more like a resort than a hostel! One downside however was that the staff were constantly trying to sell you stuff. Even when we asked for information about buses to get to our next destination they tried to sell us a very expensive trip and didn´t give us any information on local buses etc. Overall though I would recommend the hostel, just shop around for trips and tours

Good hostel with very good common areas, nice pool and bar. We stayed in a private double which was like a cell! Very dark with no external window. Staff were good and they have an on site tourist office providing free advice on travelling all around Costa Rica. The area was not the best for food or bars and didnt feel the safest however in San Jose you won't really want to go out at night anyway!
