The Fort Boutique Hostel

York, England
69%

Good location. It was expensive for a hostel if there is more than one of you and for the same amount we could have stayed in a budget hotel. We decided not to because we enjoy the atmosphere of a hostel and this hostel did not have it. York is a great city. I would recommend the hostel on location and cleanliness but not value for money.

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hi, thanks for your comments. To make the most out of a hostel you should stay in a dorm room. This way you get to meet new people, our private rooms are very private so it is harder to meet other people. Dorm beds start from £18 pounds and privates from £58. For a city centre location, I'd say that's not bad. Do stay again and try one of our superb brand new dorms with communal kitchen.

This hostel has to have the most friendly staff in the whole of Asia. Please be aware this is a forest edge resort so don’t come here expecting to party. If however you want a view days R&R then book away I loved it just what was needed after weeks travelling.

Beacons Backpackers

Brecon, Wales

If ever there was a reason to come to Wales this hostel is it, the staff and the regulars that use the pub attached give a massive warm Welsh welcome, great location for the Brecons. The Hostel is clean, the staff are fantastic. Only negative the mattress do need changing as they are not too comfy but after a day’s walking washed down with a few beers after it’s not the end of the world.

Fur such a busy hostel the staff are very friendly. It’s clean and tidy. Only down side due to the size you don’t get the community feel you get in some establishments. But for a Hostel in London it can’t be faulted.

For such a large hostel it is very well kept. The staffs are friendly. I stayed in a large dorm very comfy and each bunk has cabin style curtains. All round very good.

Review is of the sister hostel NosDa as I was moved 2nd best hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff where fantastic. The rooms clean and warm. The bathrooms have hot water and are very clean. It is in a fantastic location and it really is a great place to meet people. So if you just want a base close to town but not right in the hustle and bustle or you want to meet like minded travels from all over the world this is the place.

The staff where very helpful. Although the hostel is a MRT ride away from anywhere else with the exception of little India. There is no lounge just a sofa in reception. No cooking facilities. I found the 6 bed door a little cramped and hot with no natural air. I have stayed in 20 bed dorm's that are more comfortable. However there is a nice chill out area out front. I thing this place is only good for a short stop over.
