HI - San Luis Obispo Hostel

San Luis Obispo, USA

Only stayed overnight but noticed this is a "real" hostel with excellent facilities for folks staying longer -- good large clean kitchen, well located, friendly staff and visitors. SLObispo very cute -- would highly recommend this hostel there -- seemed to be a lot of knowledgeable cyclists staying.

This home was nice but the location was a pretty serious problem for anyone travelling with a suitcase -- I had to drag mine many hundreds of yards over gravel paths and ripped the entire base off ... ruined. It also was a long way from the town center if one only had a short stay and the hostess was not terribly knowledgeable about buses ... also there was no bus really handy. Better to try to say in town.

This Hostel had a couple of pluses -- free parking (a problem in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area), very good location, one block from a nice part of the beach and walking distance stores, restaurants etcetera, also right on the main FL northern strip. Very clean and pleasant, and quiet (a plus for some more ancient travelers), nice kitchen/lounge/TV room, free local phone calls (a definite plus), and a neat little pool. I would say definitely restful and fully equipped.

This is a great little hostel, with very helpful and touristically knowledgeable staff (especially Deya and Majnor who were mostly on duty when I was there, not to mention the special guardian Deyito the very cuddly little rabbit at the door). No kitchen but lots of cheap places to eat in Matagalpa, and the hostel itself has a good bar and small restaurant, plus free coffee and water. Nice big bathroom for the dorm, and comfy beds (cool at night, bring your jammies).
