Hostel Van Gogh

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Needs a communal area to cook in more a hotel than hostel.

Hem Budget Hotel

Amsterdam, Netherlands

we had bed bugs here one night, but the guy on the desk was really helpful and moved us into the proper hotel for the second night as compensation. There's no kitchen or common room though as it's a hotel rather than a hostel. And even though it looks far out of town it only takes 10-15 mins on the tram ($2.60 per journey) and its not mega far to walk.

Lybeer Travellers' Hostel

Bruges, Belgium

A cool little hostel thats not far away from everything in Bruges. The staff are really friendly and it was pretty clean. You're not allowed to use the kitchen between 8-10am though in the hope you'll buy their breakfast instead of making your own.

This hostel was fun to go to but I wouldn't want to stay there for too long. It's run by two crazy old ladies that only speak French, which is fine if you speak a little back thats all you need. But the whole place kinda had an old lady smell too.

This is such a creepy place. The staff spend their time creeping on girls a quarter of their age, the showers are just like hosepipes coming out the wall and NEVER got warm and even though they say that they lock the kitchen at 11pm we tried to get in there to make a drink at 10.45 and they wouldnt let us near it. Also there is only an old blanket to put over you with no sheet and I'm pretty sure they never get washed..

Sandy Hostel

Rome, Italy

A nice hostel with really friendly staff. The only bad side was that there is no kitchen or common room, but there is a microwave and fridge in the hall and a coffee pot you can help yourself to.

Budapest Budget Hostel

Budapest, Hungary

Great staff and extremely clean :)

Chili Hostel

Prague, Czech Republic

Good place to stay but catered more for large groups who can be noisy late at night..

H.I. Fenway

Boston, USA

not much happening at night, just lots of tv...

La Maison du Patriote

Montreal, Canada

very cool little hostel but not much going on as it was an offshoot of the real one where everyone else was.

Homer Hostel

El Capitan Hotel

San Francisco, USA
