Hostel Van Gogh

Amsterdam, Netherlands

I booked a bed in a female dorm but they did Not have one and so they put me in a single room, which was nice. The location is really good, pretty close to the museumsplein. The breakfast is good and the atmosphere is more like in a hotel which is ok, but not for single travellers who wanna meet people. I found my bed horrible, way to soft, and did not have a good sleep. The stuff is unfriendly - all the receptionists i met seemed to be in a bad mood and did not really care about the guests.

one of the best hostels i ever stayed in. the atmosphere is great, the staff is very nice and they make you feel like home. loved the hammocks and the tree house. the walking tour was also really good. rooms are ok, never seen bunk beds for three people before... the bathroom is alright, only three showers so you have to wait sometimes. the location is pretty cool but it was kind of hard to find it because i didnt know where to leave the bus... you get lost very easily in that neighbourhood. :)

It wasnt that much a party hostel as I exspected. I always went to bed quiete early and the only thing that was annoying was the street noise. There are only a few showers and toilets and depending on the daytime they are sometimes not really clean. The breakfast was ok, the free internet is good and the location is absolutely great. Its probably not the most secure hostel because there are no lockers and you cant lock your door from the inside. Anyway, guess I would stay there again.

the room (4bed) was ridiculously small and they charged me 3 euros for the sheets. apart from that i liked it. the staff is nice, the location pretty good and the breakfast was also ok. everything is very new and clean.

I really liked it, the free paella was great and the staff really nice. You can reach all main attractions by walking but it is quiete far and I found it tiring. The computer is pretty old but it does its job. The rooms are not lockable but you got a security locker for your stuff so it is safe anyway. They could provide more informations about the city, the attractions, some tours and some special tipps.
