We spend two nights in this cool hostel. It has the "shape" of a traditional riad with a courtyard in the center and the good vibe of a young artistic place with many paintings on walls. The staff is very welcoming and helpfull. Good breackfast included. The only bad point are the bed. They are a bit small and not very comfy. Plus, i'm not sure sheets are changing after each person. The second night, my bed had been given at somewhere else and the sheets were the same.

We really enjoy our stay there both for the city and for the hostel. Essaouira is a nice stop after marrakesh, it more peaceful and there is less tourists. The staff (at the reception & cleaning ladies) is lovely and welcoming. The hostel is not a "traditionnal riad" but it is nice although. The athmosphere is cool, you will easily meet other travelers. The only bad point was the cold shower but there were a problem at this moment.

Riad Massine II

Very charming hostel with a lot of character, the riad is wonderful ! Plus, the staff is lovely and the breakfast good&cheap. The hostel is quite small, so you really feel "at home", it is quiet and welcoming. Only bad thing: it is 30min walking from the main square and you don't feel very safe when you come back by night. But taxi are cheap anyway, so it is not such a big deal ! So i hightly recommend this hostel !

Smart Russell Square

We went there a short week as a unit group from a French architecture school. You get what you paid for. The price and the location are really good. The other good point is that breakfast is included. After, it is a bit an hostel-factory. Ther is no special athmosphere or good vibe. The triple bank bed in a tiny room really make you feel that they try to put as much people as it is possible without any comfort. So, sleep there for cheap but do not spend time there.

Awsome hostel, gorgeous building, clean barhrooms, nice bedroom (timber bunk bed with curtain for privacy) and helpful staff! =) Moreover, the hostel is calm, you can sleep without noise. The only weak point is that most of people traveling alone stay on the dinning room with their laptop which make the athmosphere peacful but not super friendly.
