The White Rabbit

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Decent hostel, nothing special. The rooms weren't that clean but they weren't that bad either. Good food at the restaurant/bar. The TV stayed on pretty late and could be heard really loud in the private rooms. The staff were very friendly and helped us organize onward travel. Location was ok but quite a walk to the quay area.

This hostel is a pretty well oiled machine with clean dorms and bathrooms. Located within a short walk from everything and there are loads of travel agencies across the road to book halong bay/open bus ticket (much cheaper than through the hostel). The downside of this hostel is the gap-year party atmosphere that really isn't for everyone. We could see there being a problem if you were in a dorm with loads of drunk people coming back at 4am after the daily pub crawl.

Lucky Family Hostel

Beijing, China

The 4 bed dorm we stayed in was huge and very clean with big lockers. The toilet blocked a few times but the staff were very friendly and quick to deal with it. It included a free breakfast which was nice and a bit of a bonus. Located close to the subway and from there one can see Beijing easily. We went on the hostel's Mutianyu great wall tour which cost 280 each, a bit pricey but worth it. Not many people on the wall, good to meet other travelers, definitely the easiest/most efficient way!

The decor of Xiangzimen hostel was amazing and it had an excellent restaurant/bar area that was really nice to chill out in. The bedroom was very clean, but we thought that the communal bathroom facilities could have been a bit better. The urinal in the men's was blocked and overflowing while the showers were individually quite small with nowhere to put your things. Location was great, although only 5 stops on the bus for us not 6. Just get off when you see the city walls. Staff were friendly.

Apa Kaba Home&Stay

Melaka, Malaysia

Apa Kaba was a nice retreat down a small alley surrounded by a lovely garden. We stayed in the basic twin which was ok, the beds were quite comfy but the shutters over the window couldn't be completely closed so we were bitten to death by mossies! The bathrooms are good but could be a little cleaner. The staff were great and really friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was large with fresh fruit and a selection of local foods. For the price, would stay again!

Suzie's Guesthouse and Hostel KL

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This was the perfect place for us in KL. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms and common bathrooms were very clean. The location is great, only 2 mins from Chinatown and you can easily walk to 3 different train stations giving you access to the whole of KL. The hostel is great value for money as it includes a good free breakfast and the rooms are cheap. The free wifi was really fast and the common area was great for meeting people. We extended our stay twice!

Misty Woods

Dharamsala, India

Misty woods was absolutely fantastic! We could not fault this place one bit and even extended our stay here. Good location, clean rooms and bathrooms and really friendly staff. We felt really welcome here and they gave us excellent advice on walks that we could do in the area.

Vinayak Guesthouse

Jaipur, India

Overall a good place to stay in Jaipur. Great value for money with clean rooms and friendly staff. The drain in the bathroom didn't smell that great but typical for India. Roof restaurant was sociable and the food was decent. One problem was we asked to have a tuk tuk booked to take us to the station at 5 am but nobody showed up meaning we had to walk!

Hotel Kesar Palace

Udaipur, India

This hotel is centrally located, with very clean rooms and bathrooms. The rooftop restaurant has great views over the lake. The food was great and the kitchen is probably the cleanest we've seen in India. Although the staff were very friendly and helpful, there never seemed to be anyone on reception so if you wanted to ask them for something it had to be at either breakfast or dinner time which was a little frustrating. All in all though, this was a great hostel for the price. Would recommend!

Hotel Haveli

Jaisalmer, India

This hostel was fantastic! Both Issack and Barkat were extremely friendly and tried their hardest to help us enjoy Jaisalmer as much as possible. We booked our camel safari through Issack and it was awesome! We were able to really easily change our booking and leave all our luggage at the hotel while on the safari. The rooftop restaurant has a brilliant view of the fort and the food was some of the best we have tasted in India. Added to this the accommodation was so cheap!

The Forest Hostel

Jeju Island, South Korea

This hostel was fantastic! The rooms were clean and and the bathrooms had good hot showers. Breakfast was excellent and the kitchen/bar area downstairs was really spacious and welcoming. It was well located right next to the Dongmun Rotary with its great market, and the main shopiing area with lots of restaurants and coffee shops. The staff were very friendly and helped us with any questions we had regarding travel around Jeju or to do with the hostel itself. Thank you!

U & I Hostel

Seoul, South Korea

We were generally pleased with this hostel. It is in an great location next to Sookmyung University making it easy to get around Seoul and there are lots of restaurants in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful.. It was on the 3rd floor so there was a steep staircase to go up with heavy bags. We also paid for a private double room with ensuite but found our bathroom to be entirely seperate next door. There was a sign on the door saying 'private', but we think other people used it.

Jeonju Hostel

Jeonju, South Korea

This hostel was in a fantastic location right between the honk village and the more modern district. You could easily explore the city by foot. We stayed in a private double with ensuite. It was extremely clean, modern and a great place to come back to. There was no wifi in the room but there was wifi in the main communal area which was very welcoming and comfortable with a big kitchen also. Would definitely recommend the hostel and Jeonju to anyone thinking of going there!

Nahbi Guest House for Backpackers

Gyeong-ju, South Korea

Really enjoyed our stay here, stayed in a private room- good size and very clean. Breakfast included which was great. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Only niggle is that if you stay in a private room you have to go downstairs for a shower through the stairwell. But would most definitely stay there again.

Windroad Guesthouse

Seoul, South Korea

Location was really great- perfect for exploring Seoul. The Hostel itself felt quite cramped and not the cleanest. Staff friendly and apprachable.
