Always a good stay at the Astor Victoria. Great staff. Perfect location. Worth a visit!
I stayed here before a few years ago and little has changed... which is a good thing! The beds in the 16 person dorm allow for some privacy which is nice. The computer room in the old courtroom has great character. Staff are knowledgeable. Only a short walk from Kings Cross so plenty of transport links. Very cheap for a Friday night which is great. Thanks again!
Beautiful view across the Thames to the Battersea Power Station from the dorm I was in. One of the better free hostel breakfasts I've come across; Omelette and Pancake bar included! Little things make the stay in a hostel go from great to awesome and Travel Joy is full of them. Free soft drinks from the bar throughout the stay! Beds were comfortable and dorm room was clean and bright. Staff friendly and helpful. Only a short walk from Pimlico tube so don't be put off by location.
Astor Victoria is a great hostel. Comfortable and clean. Location is perfect for both inward/ onward travel out of London thanks to the close proximity to the transport hub of Victoria Train/ Coach Station. I've stayed a few times and always had the same great experience. The free breakfast is good. The staff are always friendly. As usual will stay again!
Check-in staff need to be clearer with instructions as we got told one rule regarding drinking when checking in and then a totally different thing by the night security guy. But the fact they have a night security guy is great! Very good breakfast with plenty of choice included. All in all great value for money and a fantastic location close to the tube and within walking distance to some of London's top sights.
Super modern feel. You'll forget your staying in a hostel at times by how well maintained and up to date this place is. Awesome facilities (TV in the Laundry room! It's the little things!) The only slight downfall is the location but I never had to wait more the 5 minutes for a bus. Great place for boarders as Whistler can be Skier dominated but most guests when I stayed boarded. Cool cafe/ bar in the foyer. Little pricey for a hostel but super cheap for Whistler so go figure!
Great location in the centre of town, or at least the main tourist part. Be aware though if your arriving via Greyhound as the station is the about an hour walk away. Comfortable enough beds and good facilities. With its location being more lake orientated than mountain I can imagine this is a much more fun place in the summer months. The 5pm check in is a little late mind; no real excuse for that.
Decent hostel right next to the ferry terminals so great location if your just arriving or leaving the South Island. Bed comfortable. My top bunk shared a ladder which was about 2 foot into the other top bunk so if that bed was occupied I would have ended up climbing on it's occupant but fortunately it wasn't! That's the only fault and had a good nights sleep!
Two words - Massage Chair! They have one. Which you can use! Dorm was spacious and comfortable. Hostel is close to the main town center. Well stocked with board games so you can fall out with your travelling companions over a game of Monopoly. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Really homely vibe to the place but in a good way! Would stay again!
Great stay here. Fun hostel with a laidback vibe. The dorm room was a little cramped, should really have been a 2 bed room as the third bed was jammed in but I'm sure I booked a 6 bed dorm so no harm no foul! Staff are friendly and approachable. Right in the centre of town across from the iSite and stumbling distance to the main drinking holes. Awesome balcony to chill and watch the sea from. Would definitely stay again!
Decent hostel. Close to the centre of town. Free parking a massive bonus in Auckland, make sure you book though. Staff friendly and helpful. Not so much a party hostel like other offerings in town but you get a better nights sleep! Would stay again
Great location, pleasant and helpful staff. Second stay this year. Highly recommended for a stay in London.
Had a great time at this hostel. Dorms were comfortable and clean. The attached bar is the heart and soul of this hostel which plenty of deals for guests. Great location for the Greenwich and Docklands area. Online check-in seemed a little pointless as I still had to wait 15 minutes to get my keycard but the staff were all helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Free breakfast was good. Would stay again.
The first thing you notice when entering the hostel is a smell of urine. The doorway and entrance hall is clearly a favourite spot for the many homeless Seattlites to use as a restroom. Breakfast is great; one of the better hostel breakfasts I have had in my travels. Staff were helpful and great at giving travel tips and offering discounts for major attractions. A spot of paint, a deep clean and sorting the issue with the stench on entry and this could be an amazing hostel. Just needs works
Decent hostel in Downtown Vanc. Location puts you right in the centre with good transport links. Beds comfortable. Seem to have the housekeeping down to an artform with a big team that just sweeps through and gets the job done. The bar has some great offers and is a perfect place to socialise and meet fellow travellers.
Good location; only about a 5 minute walk into centre of town. Bar is super cheap and there is always some activity. Great place to meet fellow travelers. Happy Hour 5 to 7; best deals in town. Room I was in was very spacious. Hostel is clean and the staff helpful.
The dorms could stand to be a little cleaner but that aside definitely recommend staying here if your in the area and want to escape the madness of Banff. Great name too! The girl on the front desk was friendly and helpful. Canmore has a lot to offer!
The location couldn't be better for the Stampede; literally across the road. Not too far from the town centre either. Staff really friendly and helpful. Was shown around the whole hostel which was nice (and rare). Really treat each quest as an individual. Free breakfast was great. Fair play to these guys for getting the place cleaned up after the flooding so quickly. Great hostel
Excellent facilities and friendly staff. Great downtown location. Big patio in the back to chill out on. Movie room is fantastic complete with huge seats. Super clean and well maintained. Definitely recommend a stay here. The housekeeping lady was super helpful too!
Close to Victoria Train Station so great transport links to the city and beyond. Rooms comfortable and plenty of luggage space. Would stay again
Comfortable beds. Seemed to have just been renovated so everything was clean and news. Only 5 minutes walk from the main tourist areas. Would stay again
Pleasant hostel. Free coffee on check in was a nice touch. Only a short walk from the centre of town. Would stay again.
Excellent location; short walk from Train Station and right in the centre of town. Beds were comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful
Whilst pricey for a hostel; you simply can't get a better location. Located right in the heart of Times Square. If your looking to see the main sights and avoid much travel its perfect. Free breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Staff super friendly. Sheets and room clean with en-suite washroom. One complaint. Bar closes too early at 12 and the night I stayed the barman was packing up and had stopped serving at 11.50. Not cool for the city that never sleeps! Aside from that great hostel.
Don't let the fact it's not located in Manhattan put you off as it's right next to a subway station and only a very short ride (under 10 minutes) into Times Square. Worth paying a couple of dollars to travel as it is considerably cheaper than other NYC Hostels and just as good. Big common area for relaxing and getting to meet people. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hostel was clean. Not much more you could ask for!
Great hostel with an amazing location. Lots of fun bars and cheap places to eat close by. Free parking was a massive bonus. Dorm room my group had was spacious and modern. Rooftop patio was awesome even in the cold January snow. Cool common area to kick back and enjoy a few beers in that can be picked up super cheap from the Walgreens next door. Plenty of wash facilities in the hostel. All the staff were super helpful. Will definitely stay again when back in Chicago! All the best, Andy

A historic dream of a hostel with the best downtown location made all the more special by all its staff! Craig, the night watchman, is always welcoming with a smile and a sage ear for the drunken wanderer, often accompanied with a fully embracing hug. The bar manager..I think he's from New Zealand...and his team create a party atmosphere that even Andrew WK would be proud of. No review can go without mentioning Helena; the absolute angel at the front desk. Stay and enjoy the ride of your life!
Breakfast was very good, staff kept it flowing despite the volume of people. The room key had a tendency to stop working but it was a quick fix Alot of character to the building and hostel; the old court house has been converted into a funky place to stay whilst keeping alot of the features.
The day we stayed most of Boston had suffered a blackout and so the hostel had no power/ hot water. The staff had obviously put in a lot of effort to ensure that guests could still stay despite the limitations and deserve commendation! Hostel itself is in a great area, close to the action. Large, varied breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff are knowledgeable and keen to assist with anything they can. Has a youthful hip vibe that many H.I. hostels fail to achieve.
Great location in the historic part of town. Free pasta dinner on Wednesday. Clean kitchen and wash areas. Definately worth a stay. Lacks individual character as a chain hostel but the area and attention to detail definately make up for this. Plenty of bars in the area.
Great location and comfortable; very friendly staff.
Clean and centrally located. The staff want you to make the most of your stay; though they can be a bit over the top with their love of the Maid of the Mist ;) If you want someone to plan your stay in Niagra for you I can't imagine anyone to be more knowledgeable so you'll definately get the inside tips.
Standard large Hostel; lacks character but in a great location and resonably priced for New York. Plenty of cheap bars in the area and very close to subway links. Central Park also within walking distance.
Great hostel in a great place. Bruges is a fairytale. Always something to do at this place, cheap bar, about 5 - 10 minutes walk from the CBD. Free tours etc. Definately recommended
Excellent location near to the duel trains stations of Kings Cross and St Pancras, easy stumble to the early train after a night on the town! Cool jailhouse theme, comfortable beds, little dirty in some on the bathrooms but this is apparently due to renovation work so it can be forgiven!
Very close to tube station Clean enough Bar open 24/7 (technically but it's at the nightwatch's discreation so depends who's on and how rowdy people are being! Would recommend!
Reasonably priced, decent location, only about 5 minutes on the MTR into the main tourist areas.
Decent hostel of the outskirts of town (about 10-15 minute walk to the centre) Free shuttle service very good! Good group of people running the place.
Great central location, if not a little bland in terms of character. Clean and convenient. Decent place to stay
Pleasant hostel just far enough outside of town to avoid the hustle and bustle but still only a few minutes walk into the centre.
A 'Club 18 - 30' style hostel, so if your not up for youth shenanigans then its not for you. Great location, very comfortable beds, helpful staff!
Free soup was nice! Loved the Gary Larson toilet. Good central location. Kudos to the person who added the Van Damme to the recipe book!
Brilliant hostel in the heart of Greymouth. Really clean and with great character. Has its own bar which is cool! Extra beer free with your first drink! The owner is a great bloke, highly recommend it!
Comfortable hostel, excellent central location. Good area for bars, clubs etc and about 5 minutes walk to Cathedral square.
Cool hostel if not a little out of the way (Perfect if your getting the Trans-Alpine train though, real close to the station). Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms/Dorms in cells in an old prison. Maybe 20 minute walk back into the centre of Christchurch. One of the best hostels I've stayed in.
Lovely hostel in tiny Picton. Outside of town, but only 5 minutes walk. Plus free chocolate pudding... what more do you want! (Free pick-up and drop off at the ferry/buses also included) Cheers!
Great hostel. The owner is very friendly. Clean sheets everyday. Highly recommend a stay; much better than Japan's bland chain hostels. Within a minure of a train station and about 5 minutes from Shinagawa Station, one of the transport hubs for Tokyo which allows for great access to all the city.
