I wish that the hostel had a kitchen for guests to prepare their own food.
this is an excellent city centre backpackers and travellers hostel. The only thing missing is a lift:) The staff are great, the beds are comfortable, it's spotlessly clean, the common areas are great... what else is there ?
this is an excellent family hostel, spotlessly clean, run like a Swiss timepiece, a stone's throw from the Blackpool Pleasure Beach resort, and also a 3 minute walk from the Blackpool Pleasure Beach railway station (on the line to South Pier)
great place, you either learn to love steps or hate them in Dubrovnik.
this hostel is exceptional. It's as if 10,000 travellers were asked what they want in a hostel and the results became reality! Shame they won't let us smoke on the room balconies, but that's probably a legal requirement :)
the only thing missing is a kitchen for guests on a budget to prepare their own food, apart from that, it's excellent.
great hostel, wonderful staff, very comfortable, will return when I need more cigarettes at £2.70 a pack!
This is an excellent hostel. Comfortable clean dorms, clean bathrooms, great atmosphere, common room, kitchen ... perfect location.... I will be back!
this is an excellent city centre backpackers and travellers hostel, comfortable, right next to the Castle, Grass Market and Royal Mile. The kitchen and common rooms with wifi are excellent.
this is a quiet, peaceful country hostel for walkers & trekkers who want to see the countryside around Drumnadrochit. The rooms are cabins with ensuite bathrooms, clean and comfortable. The kitchen and lounge are well equipped and clean. there is wifi in the lounge. There are no nearby shops, and if not driving or walking to the hostel, you would need to take a bus from Drunmadrochit village. If you have a UK credit/debit card Asda.com (supermarket) will deliver food, drinks, cigarettes!
this is a quiet, peaceful country hostel for walkers & trekkers who want to see the countryside around Loch Ness. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. The kitchen/lounge are well equipped and clean.. There are no nearby shops apart from the basic supplies at reception, and if not driving or walking to the hostel, you would need to take the bus 919 which travels between Inverness & Fort William/Glasgow If you have a UK credit/debit card Asda.com (supermarket) will deliver food etc!
This is an exceptional city center hostel. The only things missing are a lift and ensuite bathrooms :-) The staff are great, the kitchen has everything you need. The only disappointment was if they're going to charge for breakfast then why not also charge for toast, as that's missing from the available options. I will definitely stay at Castle Rock again, tomorrow in fact.
I liked it, and had a great time
the guys were great, extremely helpful, and in the heat, air-con was a real plus! It's a bit out of the way, but if you take the airport train for €1 euro you can afford to spend €5 on a taxi from the metro stop at Plaza de Sants
this hostel would be 100% if it wasn't for two things: 1) it is such an absolute sweat box during a heatwave, there is only circulation of warm air around the building and the windows don't open for the safety of all the school and cub scout groups staying, so in the dorms you must sleep drenched in sweat during a heatwave. they need air-con! 2) There is no kitchen for the travellers/budget guests to cook or prepare their own food, you have to eat out, or subsist on sandwiches and cafe food
it's great, but there is no kitchen for budget travellers to prepare their own food, and I wouldn't try to sleep here again during a heatwave unless they put in some air con. Also, there is no nearby bus stop, you must take the bus 9 from the airport or buses 9 or 14 from the city centre and walk with your bags or take a taxi
this hostel would be 100% if it wasn't for two things: 1) it is such an absolute sweat box during a heatwave - they need air-con powered by Solar Panels. 2) There is no kitchen for the travellers/budget guests to cook or prepare their own food, you have to eat out, or subsist on sandwiches and cafe food apart from that it's great, but the location means you need to walk a way carrying your bags from the bus stop or take a taxi
it's great, but there is no kitchen for budget travellers to prepare their own food, and I wouldn't try to sleep here again during a heatwave unless they put in some air con as the windows are secured for the safety of all the school and scout groups staying. Also, there is no nearby bus stop, you must take the bus 9 from the airport or bus 9/14 from the city centre and walk with your bags or take a taxi
perfect in every way, especially the well equipped kitchen... located very close to the EuroStar and Kings Cross stations....
just... perfect. This hostel is outstanding, almost everything is perfect, especially the location in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales Peak District... Only the breakfast price seems a bit of a rip-off - £5 even if you only want a yoghurt & slice of toast with a coffee (we don't all want a Full English every morning!)
for hiking and exploring the stunning Peak District/Derbyshire dales, this is the place...I could find nothing wrong, except the price of the Global Gossip Wi-Fi (should be free) and the cost of the YHA Breakfast (£5) ...far easier and cheaper to just go to the shops in Buxton & cook your own meals in the Self-catering kitchen... But the place is amazing, a stunning 16th Century manor Hall where Bonnie Prince Charlie is said to have stayed. BTW,you can take Bus 442 from Buxton Railway station"
don't walk from Kings Cross... take Bus 63 from Bus stop E right in front of Kings Cross station and it's TWO stops to the hostel...
this is not a backpackers hostel for meeting other travellers....as there is no lounge or common area except the terrace, which is really only useful in the summer (then it'd be excellent I expect) rather, it's a comfortable, clean, secure place to sleep, and nothing more... staff are helpful, rooms are clean, bathrooms clean, wi-fi is ok... but location is excellent, in mid town, on 8th and 30th right next to Madison Sq. Garden & Penn. Station
nice place, would recommend it and would stay there again...
brilliant, huge just like Chicago, but nonetheless completely brilliant!
this is NOT a travellers/backpackers/youth Hostel... rather, it's a rooming house for low income homeless guys... the staff are helpful when you can find them, but for $30 it feels like a rip off compared to the USA HI Hostels elsewhere in America like Chicago... The window in my private room off Dorm 4 is broken so there is NO FRESH AIR, and therefore the place smells... Not to mention that this means there is a security problem as anyone can break in thru the window. The bathroom looks filt
great facilities and amenities...basically a great hostel for the centre of a great city...
no common room is a big problem if travelling alone and want to meet other travellers, but then again, for 20 bucks a night :)
fantastically wonderful staff, very helpful... and the pool is great in such high temperatures!
I love it so much I am still here, if I wasn't planning on teaching in Cambodia I'd ask for a job and work for free just so I could stay... There really are no bad points unless you don't like the Hanoi heat or walking upstairs to your room! The only thing missing is a swimming pool :)
ah what joy to jump in that swimming pool ... shame about the air-con - it only works when the key is in the room to activate the electricity! The internet isn't much cop as all the computers are really old, the WI-FI doesn't work. Also, there is no way to use Windows Live Messenger.
It's a great little place run by the Long family right in the center of the backpacker district... I would definitely stay there again! RECOMMENDED
superb hostel, and plenty of character because it's old and tatty :) But the staff were brilliant and the location is almost perfect in Manhattan!
My favorite hostel in Paris... Thanks, see you again some time!
Brilliant... excellent location, great staff .. would go back. Just remember if you're a smoker you have to go down to the street....but I would still go back ...
Great hostel, very comfortable, very sociable, warm and friendly place. It has a bar and beer garden so it's easy to meet other travellers for drinking games or just a cigarette! Location is good for the trams to the centre .... There are lockers to store your stuff, and security lockers for your valuables plus it's easy to chain your backpack to the bed as well if needed...all in all I would recommend it and definitely return!

Brilliant hostel ....good location right by the Main Market square. Very sociable - attracts a great crowd of people to hang out with...
Fantasic staff, location... perfect place... Some people complained in their reviews about security but that's not really the case... These are people who don't bring a padlock and a bycicle chain to secure their stuff - plus there is a safe for valuables - and the lockers were installed on my last day.... ! In all, fantastic hostel, brilliant staff, great location ... definitely will retuen, and certainly recommend it!
Certainly the best hostel in Granada...one of the best hostels I've ever stayued in, and I've stayed in hostels all over the world! The bar is great fun, the dinner party is excellent (fantastic soup, salad, and pasta or curry all you can eat for €3.5!) and the staff are very helpful and nice.
Superb place, location and staff were fantastic! Will definitely stay there again
ok, for character, location, staff, security, and cleanliness this is excellant! It is opposite the station and the staff are really helpful, it is spotlessly clean, and feels as secure as home. But there is no common room, nowhere to sit down and meet people, no kitchen to cook food and no table to eat it on. They have instead got a 'common area' which in fact is a cupboard with a computer running Windows 98 and a slow dial-up connection. So if you want to meet people to have fun with in Venice this is not the hostel for you! It is a shame, as everything else about the place is so perfect! So, if you are coming here with friends, or a partner, or specifically want to see Venice alone, then this would be just right for you. But if you want to meet other travellers to party with then forget it... and go somewhere else. One last thing, they take away the air-conditioning unit in mid-september, and there are a lot of mosquitos, so come with repellant and cream for the bites after you have the window open during the night!
excellant; will come again...
fantastic...will always stay here...very comfortable, clean, safe...good location...
fantastic place, great location, great staff...will definitelky use this one or Cats Hostel from now on when in Madrid...
They were very helpful...spoke English well. Recommended!
