Friendly and helpful staff. The girls are a bit shy, but keen to improve their English. Good breakfast and good base to start travelling from. A couple of good and cheap eats close by. Would stay again.

Born Free Hostel – Vista, Bangkok, Thailand

30th Apr 2016

Guy at reception had an attitude and was rude. We needed info on public bus going to DMK airport, and his response was along the line of: "No, only taxi, you guys are rich enough to pay for it, now you want to exploit the Thais even more by going on the public bus?" I was not happy at all. Rooms are crowded and there is no space for you personal belongings. Beds are standing so close, I had the feet of the guy in the bunk next to me under my pillow... disgusting. Absolutely disliked the place!

Pak-Up Hostel, Krabi, Thailand
9.7
20th Apr 2016

REALLY good hostel, but comparably pricy. You can get a room for 2 down the road for less then the price of 1 bed in a dorm at Pak Up. However: great staff, friendly, good English, we booked transportation with them and got a drink voucher with each booking. Good security, comfy beds, nice showers and awesome atmosphere in the bar area - which is far away from the dorms, so no noise at all! Stay there, if you have the money and want to treat yourself.

Basic, but good! Very friendly owner, good English and helpful with questions. Close to Chiang Mai Gate and night market, but don't underestimate the Old Town, it's big!! Good for 1-2 nights.

Potae's House, Chiang Mai, Thailand

12th Apr 2016

We stayed at Potae's House for 4 nights during Songkran, and we had such a good time! Potae is in her late 20s and is a traveller herself, so she knows what backpackers need. Great wifi, simple breakfast, free drinking water (!!) and all the information on Chiang Mai you'll need. Good atmosphere, not too big, so it's very easy to socialise. We had an absolute blast during Songkran, THE BEST location for it right at the moat with all the traffic coming past!! THANKS, Potae, from Hanna and Moritz

10th Apr 2016

Very good value for money, it's a decent place for that price. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom. Free beer from 6 to 7pm (yes, the whole time!). Situated not far from the Old Quarter, only 15-20min walk to both main train station and Long Bien bus depot (to catch a bus to the airport), but on a quiet street. Would stay again.

6th Apr 2016

Hanoi doesn't seem to have THAT hostel... but Hanoi Brother is a decent place for $6/night. Good breakfast (they offer 2nds), VERY helpful and friendly staff. Our bathroom was a bit old and moldy, but nothing you can't put up with. They let us leave our bags while we were out of town, that was cool!

Located in a quiet neighbourhood between Old Town and beach, easy to get to both with the free bicycles! Very clean and best shower in a while. Mr Ly and his family are friendly and helpful, every question answered! Very clean and good facilities. We really went out of our budget with the private room though, because we didnt know that there are actually a number of hostels with dorm rooms in Hoi An... do your research :)

Cozy Nook Hostel, Da Lat, Vietnam

This is the place to stay, if you come to Dalat! I hardly ever give 10*, but the Cozy Nook deserves it. Clean and comfy, great atmosphere. Owners are so caring and friendly, it feels like home! Family dinners ($3) will fill you up with amazing Vietnamese food and get you talking to the other guests. Keep up the good work, and Thanks for everything.

Envoy Hostel Phnom Penh, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

25th Mar 2016

Good atmosphere, nice staff! Kitchen is a bonus. Location is a bit out of the way, but many people find the city center to be to rushed and therefor dislike PP. We enjoyed the quietness of the Envoy Location. Bunk beds were a bit narrow, and only one suggestion: put bath mats and hand towels in the bathrooms. Would stay again!

Close to Central Pier and BTS station, big food and night market just at the doorstep. Staff was very friendly, spoke great English and help us with all our questions. Reception 24/7. Clean, lots of showers and toilets. Beds are very spacious with own reading light and shelf as well as curtains to get a good rest. Common area is small, breakfast is simple (cornflakes, white bread and jam), but for free and all day long! Free drinking water is a bonus!

Clean hostel and good AC. Easy to get to from Airport. I only stayed in BKK for one night, so I can't really compare the hostel's facilities, price or location to other places, but it's not a bad place for a start, there is a 7/11 right next door and it's walking distance to Patpong markets. Staff does speak English, but it's definitely not a travel desk.

A place to feel at home!! In Pentlands, you can calm down and settle after that 24hour journey you've just had. It's clean and comfy, great kitchen und very helpful staff. It's not in the city center, but this is what you want: a house filled with friends and family, away from hectic and stress.

6 small rooms, Naples, Italy

19th Sep 2012

This was the smallest hostel I have ever been to, and it was great!! I feels like staying in a friend's big flat. Very relaxed, very friendly and good for socialising. The kitchen contains everything that you need, but Naples is so cheap: get a Pizza Magerita at the pizza place near the hostel for 3 Euro (best pizza I ever had). I love 6 small rooms.

This is a Party Hostel! Very good to socialise. There is no kitchen, but food and drinks are very, very cheap (and good). If you don't want to party, you can still go to your room. Even if the party is down in the bar, the rooms are not noisy at all. I would book again.

This is the best place to stay: good location, lovely staff (Thanks, Todo), small breakfast. The aperitivo is good for socialising. They are closing between 11 am and 2pm, that's the only thing that can be annoying, but they are doing the cleaning - and it is very clean!! I would stay there again.

If money is all that matters for you, I recommend this place. However, it is not a hostel. The 20 bed dorm are several rooms with 3 beds each. No windows exept from one to the hallways where the reception is located. Therefore, you either sweat in your room or can not sleep because it is too loud. No good atmosphere, no community room. I would not go there again.
