Sleepzone

Galway, Ireland
97%

I would definitely recommend Sleepzone. The rooms are large and all with ensuite washrooms. The beds are comfortable, the staff is nice, and they have several large hang-out areas downstairs with TVs, computers, a kitchen and couches. Also extremely close to town centre and friendly staff. No complaints.

Great location and safe, clean accommodation. Not the best for meeting other travellers - lots of families and older guests. Really quiet and great amenities (kitchen, showers, etc). Would stay there again.

Tchaikovsky Hostel

Split, Croatia
97%

Wonderful staff at this hostel, very social and helpful with directions or any questions you might have. The bunk beds are fantastic, solid with individual plug-ins, shelves and lots of space. The location is also great, right in the centre of town, and the entire place is clean, quiet and bright. A small hostel but it is social and has everything you need. The only (tiny) complaint would be the showers which are hand-held rather than the type you can stand under. Still, highly recommend!

Hostel Home Zadar

Zadar, Croatia
74%

This hostel is very clean, small, quiet, well located and has good bathrooms and bunk beds. Be warned, however, that it is on the 5th floor of a very large building with no elevator (I counted 127 steps!). It was nearly impossible to get my large suitcase up to the top, and it made coming and going pretty difficult. Also the staff are there for very limited hours, so it is hard to find someone to help you with questions you may have.

Isaacs Hostel

Dublin, Ireland
80%

The staff at Isaacs were very helpful and the luggage storage was convenient. The wifi was a little weak, probably because the hostel is so large and hosts so many guests all trying to use it at once. A very social atmosphere and great common areas. However, my room on the ground floor was loud because of passing trains and very creaky floorboards overboard. So, ideal for a social stay but maybe not for a good night's rest!

Isaacs Hostel

Dublin, Ireland
71%

A very large hostel which means there are plenty of people to hang out with, but also that its pretty loud and busy in the common areas. You can't, however, hear the noise from the upstairs rooms which is nice. The pubcrawl was great, and the staff are really helpful if you need suggestions or help. Storage lockers in the basement cost extra but are fairly reasonable (no elevators though!). Overall, a pretty good hostel.

Wombats City Hostel Budapest

Budapest, Hungary

Very cheap and in the perfect location. A rather large hostel with lots of groups (contiki, topdeck) so it isn't the greatest for meeting people. While I was there the room was very, very hot with no air conditioning, and no curtains/blinds on the windows so it was extremely bright by 6am. They had great lockers that lock with the room key and large, clean rooms.

Lisbon Destination Hostel

Lisbon, Portugal

Nice place, lots of open space and very bright. The location was perfect and the common room and kitchen are very cool - almost outdoorsy with the fake grass and hammocks. Individual lockers under the beds and good mattresses :) It wasn't a very social hostel and the staff weren't very involved with the guests, but its great for some peace and relaxation.

Yes! Porto Hostel

Loved this hostel - in a great location and connected with some great free tours and pub crawls. The staff were helpful and fun! I would recommend the dinner too, you'll meet lots of people & get a 3-course dinner and drinks for a good price. Stay here if you go to Porto (and you should - the city is amazing!)

This will be a great hostel - the staff are so friendly and helpful, mama's dinners are amazing and it is set up really well to be a social atmosphere. The hostel was still finishing its construction while I was there and opened too early - there were workers putting up light fixtures, etc, all day and they didn't yet have laundry service (I was very disappointed with this since it is the reason I chose the hostel in the first place!) or locks on the drawers, etc. It WILL be excellent though!

A great place to stay in Lagos - clean, comfortable, social (but not a party hostel). The location is perfect for going into town or to the beaches. Nothing bad to say about this place!

Loved it here, the staff was great and I met a ton of fun people staying at this hostel. The rooms are new and bright, and the common areas are perfect for hanging out. Also the dinners they offer each night are great - would definitely recommend giving them a try. Overall - wonderful place. Thanks guys!

Urbany Hostel Sevilla

Seville, Spain

A pretty good hostel with decent staff and facilities. The place is a little outdated but is a good value for money and in a really great area of town. The rooms have lockers that open with your room key which I really appreciated and I felt my things were safe there. Also not the most social place I've stayed at, but there is a common area with access to wifi and a small kitchen for cooking your own meals.

The guy at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and the location was perfect - close to the park and the centre of the city. The hostel itself was very dark and gloomy, and the bathrooms were also lacking - they were not well lit and there were not enough of them for the number of people staying there. The atmosphere was also not very social, but there is a large common area with a good wifi connection. Also the room that I stayed in had a musty smell. OK for the truly budget conscious.

Casa Gracia Barcelona Hostel

Barcelona, Spain
100%

Casa Gracia is brand new and HUGE - six floors with a really nice kitchen, eating area and hanging out area/library. The rooms were nicer than many hotels I've stayed at, the bathrooms were immaculate and updated. The area is great too - right on one of the main streets with 20 minute walking to almost everywhere you would want to go. No complaints about this place, especially if you like big hostels where there are plenty of other travellers to meet.

Hatters on Newton Street

Manchester, England
74%

The temperature of the entire building, not just the rooms but also the washrooms, was far too cold and made us all incredibly uncomfortable during the stay. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but there was little they could do about the temperature. Also, the other guests were not very respectful (parties in the rooms til 6am) and so our sleep was not very good.

It was decent but not a great hostel to meet people. There is no common area to hang out in (except a small kitchen and eating area) - no couches or tvs or good shared spaces to relax. The staff was not very enthusiastic or involved. The rooms were fine, the bathrooms not great but clean enough. On the plus side, the location is excellent - in a great neighborhood and very close to the subway E line which gets you just about everywhere you would want to go. Overall an OK hostel.

Very nice building in a good location in central BA. Not nearly enough ammenities (showers, sinks, kitchen space, computers) for the large number of people who stay there, but generally clean and safe.

Hostel Lao

Loved this hostel, best I've been to so far! Only one computer and it could use another shower, but the benefits by far outweigh these small complaints. Great staff, perfect location and welcoming atmosphere. Most importantly, a decent selection of breakfast in the morning... I would definitely recommend Hostel Lao.
