City Backpackers Hostel

Not many showers and loos. Location is in the centre of the modern city so a bit of a walk from the tourist sites and the old town. Staff very friendly and helpful though. I booked a mixed dorm which turned out to be me and 7 men! Not sure if the hostel are able to allocate beds but if so it would be better to avoid that situation again.

Basic but good. Very central. Would definitely recommend. Staff very helpful - I'd booked into a ten bed mixed dorm and they put me in a four person female dorm with no extra charge - really friendly, and bathrooms all clean. Breakfast is standard - cereal and toast - but does the job.

Good price for a hostel just off the main square. Bar/restaurant underneath which was very lively and a great place to meet people from all over, as well as loads of locals which is a good sign. It did mean that the bar's music would continue until 2am sometimes but it wasn't stupidly loud. There was also a (free) music festival on one night which attracted huge crowds and was good fun. Breakfast was just bread and jam, and everything a little tatty, but perfectly good for the price. Definitely recomme

You get what you pay for - and this is the cheapest place in Bologna. Noisy all night til at least 3am; only sheets (no blankets) so had to wear all my clothes in bed; lumpy, uncomfortable beds. The worst, coldest showers ever! Far out of town but the directions they give you are good and the buses are frequent and reliable. Big place so likely to get a room even if you turn up on the night.
