Lemon Spirit Hostel

very central and one block to the beach. I am sure lots of people will love this place but that is very much a place to stay if you want to party and stay in the most fancy places in Rio (and expensive). For me that is not the typical Rio (Santa Teresa, Lapa...) The area is very expensive as well but the hostel is clean, quite big, with lots of communal space and good atmosphere

The hostel is nice, spacious and well located. The pick up service at the airport (free!) was very convenient. They organise dinners, movie nights and all sort of things. But I was little bit disapointed about the staff communication/ helpfulness. They don't really seem to care as long as you buy them tours

Biergarten Hostel

Very well located and clean but the communal area is quite bad (it is basically a small kitchen with one table in the middle) and so the atmosphere is not very fun. There is nothing organise for the guest (neither in the hostel nor outside - with some kind of day trip or anything)
