Les Couleurs de L'Orient

Marrakech, Morocco

The riad has the potential to be excellent but key points let it down. The location is brilliant and the riad is spacious, with friendly staff. The hammam, which is free to guests after 6pm, is fantastic and a brilliant experience while in Marrakech. However, the room itself was not clean. The bed was oddly short (around 5' 9'') and was broken in the middle. The ensuite shower in the room was backing up which made the room smell of drainage and left the shower unusable. Disappointing overall.

Dar Maris Guesthouse

Essaouira, Morocco

The guesthouse is a wonderful gem of a place to stay. Located a short drive away from the town it is a lovely retreat. Each room is its own outbuilding away from the main house and is just feet from the decent sized pool. Owners Franciose and Jean Pierre are lovely and hospitable, ensuring you have all you need. And their dog Jaques is the mascot of Dar Maris! Breakfast is delicious and fantastic three course evening meals can be requested. Highly recommended and would happily stay there again.

Riad du Petit Prince

Extremely lovely riad. So calm and tranquil away from the hustle and bustle of the city outside. The included breakfast was fantastic and lovely to eat under the orange trees in the courtyard. Evening meals are available on request and excellent. The hosts are very kind and welcoming. They will arrange day trips in advance or on the day, the trip into the Atlas mountains was very good. The room was clean and tidy and had air conditioning. The roof terrace is a lovely place to sit in the evening.
