I stayed many hostels around the world and Jetpak Alternative is just an ordinary hostel. You need nearly 10 minutes walk to reach the metro. 4 bed room was for 5 people (staff told us that they are keeping it for additional needs). All the other facilities were at standart level. Only exception may be the free coffee offered in the morning. Overall you shouldn't expect very much from here.

You can't come in or go out from the hostel without help of staff.Everytime you have to ring the bell and someone comes to open the doors (there are two doors. One is for the apartment the other is for the entrance of the building) Poor atsmosphere. Not recommend more than 1 night.
We are a couple from Turkey and we spent 5 nights at Ron's apartment. It is close to metro station, bus stops and to the beaches. You have everything to prepare your own meals.Thereis always a security guy in the entrance of the apartment.Ron himself is very kind and helpful. We definetely recommend Ron's apartment.
It is better if you learn some Portuguese to communicate with staff as nobody speaks English. If the weather is hot the the rooms are muggy. We didn't like our stay very much but on the otherhand hostel is very close to the Av.Paulista and breakfast is better than expected.
We stayed at private room with ensuite.Room was ok but hostel is far away from the city center. We do not recommend if you are not familiar to Johannesburg public transportation or if you don't rent a car.
It is a hotel more than a hostel. We spent only one night but recommend it for anyone who don't know Nairobi very well and need a place to stay for short time.
