very loud with phone and doorbell ringing all night, and breakfast is cold churros every day. great location and the free paella sunday was awesome.
great little place.
no directions to the hostel, but it is listed on all the big tourist maps coming into the city. no breakfast, and really loud karaoke/live music from the nearby pubs at night isn't great if you're trying to leave early in the morning. otherwise, pretty close to shops and restaurants, staff is nice, and it's really the only choice for a hostel in gibraltar.
no lockers or room keys. in theory the room was locked when nobody was there, but i didn't see it happen the 2 days i was there. hot water ran out in the showers. breakfast costs extra.
dorm bathroom had a wierd setup but was clean and had hot showers, no tp though. breakfast was great and staff were very friendly/helpful. they do laundry for 50 dirham. the map they provide is unreadable, but didn't have too much trouble finding my way around anyway.
directions are a bit tricky to follow, but the hostel is a pretty cool old building right in the old medina where you can walk to the kasbah. breakfast is minimal but good.
breakfast was pretty sparse, but overall a good deal. close to the town and the beach, and the staff will take care of ferry reservations if you want to go to morocco.
extra fee for linens and breakfast, roof pool is quite small. staff were friendly, but didn't always seem to know what they were doing. overall a good deal, and in a good location for sightseeing, bars, restaurants.
bathroom wasn't super clean, no AC in the room so the window stayed wide open to keep it cool, which led to tons of mosquitoes and loud traffic. hostel dinner was excellent traditional portuguese food. overall, faro is overpriced and not that impressive, i'd recommend going to one of the other coastal towns like Lagos or Tavira.
stay in lagos was great! staff at gold coast goes out of their way to help, with lots of great recommendations. better than average hostel breakfast i would say.
good breakfast for a free hostel breakfast, very impressed with how clean the bathrooms were for a hostel this size, especially on the weekend. don't come expecting peace and quiet, definitely a party town/hostel with people in and out all night. pillow not very comfortable. overall atmosphere good and good location near historic sites.
Bathroom was pretty dirty and shower drain clogged when I arrived. Comfortable beds, A/C was a lifesaver, and staff was great, very helpful. Good location between Taksim shops and night life and all the tourist attractions. Great hostel for the price.
No directions to the hostel if you arrive by bus, and kind of a sketchy neighborhood at night. Aside from that, clean, comfortable and modern with lots of toilets/showers. Beds in the big dorm are single not bunk so need to worry about someone tossing and tuning, although they are all right under the slant of the roof so watch your head.
Most of the staff did not speak English and they had no maps of the city available. Also only one shower. Other than that, it's in a good location, everything was clean and comfortable.
Great location in the middle of historic sites and night life. Clean and modern, though reception was right outside the door to the dorm so it got loud when people coming and going. overall, a great hostel for the price, and helpful staff as well.
