Cracker of a free breakfast - the only thing missing was bacon. All the rooms are huge and all have an ensuite bathroom. Despite having a bar downstairs, people can still drink in the common areas. The wifi was a bit patchy at times. But kudos to the staff, they were always helpful and could answer any questions about the town.

I stayed here because it was right near Kings Cross station. The rooms were quality, and very tidy, there just wasn't much atmosphere, even in the bar. Everything felt a bit sterile. The lockers above the bed are a good idea, except you couldn't fit a laptop in there. Free breakfast was good, except it was so crowded. Most of the front desk staff were really helpful, one girl went out of her way to give me directions and bus routes! Not the place to meet new people though.

Warm and cozy, it was a good place to rest up after a 24hr flight. Late checkout, free wifi, good character and atmosphere. The only bad point was the place needs a good fix up, it's in a bit of a sorry state.

5 minute walk into town, with a supermarket around the corner, loads of freebies and a hot tub. Not a party hostel, but still friendly and there's always someone to hang out with and a decent mix of long and short stay. The staff went well and truly out of their way to help people out, restored my faith in humanity!

In need of a bit of maintenance and the showers had no pressure, but pretty clean and well set up. Stayed here because I wanted to stay in Newtown, it's in a good location, with plenty of decent bars and food within walking distance. Quite a few long-term guests, some of which weren't that friendly, so not really the place to meet new people. The staff were friendly and helpful enough though.

Hostel is old style with modern facilites, with supermarket and subway down the road. No lockers, but I just left valuables at reception. The heating was stuck on the first night so it was boiling in the room. While I wasn't looking to party, it seemed to lack any sort of atmosphere.

Clean, secure rooms with their own sink, but let down by lack of a communal kitchen, and cold showers. Lively bar full of antipodeans.
