Strand Continental

The lounge (the only place you can get wifi) is actually part of a restaurant so don't plan to skype or anything with privacy. No lift and private rooms are on the 5th floor. Nice enough staff but they will do the bare minimum to check you in and check you out. Bathrooms have no towels or other way to dry your hands.

The staff were really good about helping move our room to a handicap accessible level.

Queens Park Budget Hotel

It wasn't really central to the city but it was a nice place to just relax and enjoy the park. No lockers so don't bring any valuables you don't want to carry everywhere. It's not a crazy-fun-with-all-kinds-of-backpackers, but it is extremely clean and you can meet people on a smaller, safer scale. If you don't want to pay a lot to get a lot and don't like traditional hostels, definitely stay here!

Castle Rock Hostel

The internet was pretty touch and go and it was very, very difficult to get a connection to call on skype. Spacious, clean bathrooms and dorms. One shower stall had a tiny bit of mold growing but most of them were amazingly clean for being at a hostel. The staff is very helpful and there are plenty of places to just hang out. You get free festival "concerts" by being so close to the castle!

The location is perfect for exploring the city, the staff were extremely helpful and kind, and the themed rooms were fun! Worth every since cent I spent on my three nights there!!!
