Amsterdam Hostel

San Francisco, USA

Kitchen works 7am - 10pm only. No big chance for late dinner. Our room was in the basement with no real windows and the bathroom was a bit mouldy. Tv and hairdrier did not work. Definitely expected more for the money we paid for twin private room. Breakfast is actually pancake dough from which you should make your own pancakes and queue for a pan and place at the stove. So plan your time. The area below the hostel is quite crappy and not a nice place to walk with a suitcase late at night.

Lady Ruthelen

Los Angeles, USA

The staff are very nice and helpful. There was some electricity issue with our room so we didn't really stay at Lady Ruthelen. They tried hard to find us a twin room in one of the other houses but eventually we stayed in a spare room at the office. The room had not been used for a while and was dusty and run down. We were allowed to use the fascilities of the Rochester hostel, which is just across the street.

Windsor Inn Hotel

Washington DC, USA

Great place for the money. We had a private bathroom although on hostelworld it said it would be shared. Clean cosy hotel with breakfast included and close to the zoo. The staf were very helpful. Not easy to find a free parking place though. Better leave your cars at home.
