The Wild Fig Hostel

Zadar, Croatia
57%

Common area lots of mosquito; wifi doesn't work. My rating is based on short time I was there. They're so disorganized that they get overbooked. Happened to me, so they moved me to an apartment run by local lady. I met many people in the other place who were overruns of WildFig, even after 3-4 days. This never ever happened to me before in all the hostels that I've stayed in around thr world/

ONCE in Cape Town

Cape Town, South Africa

One of my most favorite hostel ever. Unlike many hostels in South Africa, this one has locker for your stuff. Cleaned everyday. Big bed with good mattress. Has WIFI. I love the cafe/bar downstairs. It has kitchen facilities. It gives breakfast. It's near supermarket. Few minutes walk from the Long St. for parties yet not exactly in Long st where it is super noisy. The staff are friendly and helpful.

It was good to stay here because I got my own cabin for only 15$. I don't think dorm will be secure as there is nowhere to store your things. The lock on the cabin doors are flimsy. No electricity until 7pm. The resto-bar is good to order sandwiches, food, beer. But never ever get coffee or cocktail. THE GOOD: The lady in the reception is super helpful. You have amazing view of the beach & sunrise from your cabin. Beach 5 steps away. It is a cool concept hotel. 30min walk to center town.

It's a great place to be! It has a view that beats any 5 star resorts. Backpacking life doesn't get better than this. Very near beach. Nice swimming pool and bar. Dinner good but bit pricey. My only issue is that the kitchen is a mess all the time. No free internet but available. The staff is okay but not great. Oh the girls are great specially the one with dog. but I don't like the Swiss boy who volunteers there. Not helpful and not frienly. He has no business being in hospitality business.

Bob is a great place to be at. They're super helpful in organizing whatever you need. Bob is also great to drink beer with. They have the 2nd cheapest place for beer in ZA, next to Soweto (accdg to Bob). Swimming pool, bar, & wifi internet is free and fast. No locker but they can keep valuable for you in their house. The location is a bit far takes 200zar one-way to go downtown. But if u pool together with other travelers, it is ok. Overall thumbs up!

The only fault of this beautiful hostel is the reception staff (everyone single one of them). Loki should train them a little about smiling or being friendly. It's a hostel party after all. Or just change the whole lot. The bar staff are great. Everything else is great.

WORST VALUE FOR MONEY HOSTEL!!! BREAKFAST--stingy with butter and jelly. u have to show empty saucer to be served again, like a child or prisoner. Can't have more b4 start eating even if u know from day b4 that portion is too little. WIFI--only available in the tiny reception that fits 6 people. Others have to stand. MINE TOUR???--Impolite tour guide. Drunk driver. No visit to refinery. Expensive(80 vs 40-60). How can they claim they have the best?? Only location is good about this hostel.

Nice modern design and has a hotel feel to it. Dorm rooms are spacious. Brazilian people stay here so it's nice to meet local people. Near beach, restaurants, and shops. Helpful and friendly staff. Can pay with credit card with no extra charge. It's a bit pricey though and you don't get internet in the rooms.

Nega Maluca Guesthouse

Located in Pelurinho (historical center). Super friendly staff. Great vibe, happy hour, awesome caipirinha. Clean toilets despite being full-house. Has all the little things travelers appreciate--bedside socket, lamp, &safe valuables. I was there during the Carnaval2012. Brazil Carnaval could be complicated for first timers (camarote? blocs? etc) but they would decode it for you. It's a brilliant place to be in anytime, but especially during carnaval.

You have to stay here because of the location. New place so it's all still clean and new. The big screen movie night is a nice touch. Good armosphere and people. Friendly helpful staff. Onlynthing is it has low partition so u hear everything outside and next room. There's construction on going now so maybe that caused the mosquitos. But overall it's a fun place to be in.

Hotel Innova

It's a 2 star hotel and an excellent place to stay in Paris -- location wise, cleanliness, security, friendliness, it's perfect. The metro Pasteur is just outside the hotel. Montparnasse station is just 1 metro stop away or walkable if you don't have heavy luggage. The ONLY negative thing is that it has lockout at 2am. The staff are nice enough to open the door for us. Merci Beaucoup!

I love this funky hostel and there are only 2 things that kept this hostel from being perfect. (1) No internet at the room (2) There's quite a bit commuting to go to the center. But, (1) Internet is available in the common area so at least I can go smoke and have a beer (2) There is a tram stop in front of the hostel.

Don't take the private room. It is like a prison with no window. The dorms are nice however with big window that looks out a nice square court with fountain. It is the perfect location, very near the market center but long walk from the train station (take tram). The staff constitute of 1 guy who is quiet. It is a place where you want to be alone. I like it but if you're looking for a fun hostel, this is the opposite of it.
