The Siem Reap Hostel

Siem Reap, Cambodia

We stayed in a three-bed private room which included a balcony-- great accommodations for three nights at a very reasonable price. The hostel is located only a few blocks from Pub Street and the market which is quite convenient. The staff were helpful with planning our trips to the temples and organizing a driver for us, and the bar/kitchen staff were also generally quite friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

Just stopped in for one night and stayed in a private room (three of us)-- good value for very acceptable accommodations.

Sunflower Hotel Hoi An

We enjoyed our stay at the Sunflower-- four-bed private room was pretty cramped relative to other places we've stayed. It might also be good to buy some new towels! Otherwise, a pleasant stay and very reasonable price.

Hostel Mostel

I booked a single private room (shared bath)-- the room was actually in an apartment a couple of blocks from the hostel, but close enough that this was still quite convenient for when I needed to stop by the hostel (breakfast, dinner, etc.). The apartment was very nice and the room itself was very spacious. The breakfast is decent, and the free spaghetti dinner with beer is also a nice touch. I highly recommend the Rila Monastery daytour-- it's a very cool place, and our driver was very nice.

The highlight of the hostel is its location-- right at the Naschmarkt, with easy access to the metro and an easy walk to the old town. Other than that, it's probably what you would expect-- a large, reasonably well-run hostel, for a decent price.

Lisbon Lounge Hostel

Lisbon, Portugal

One of the nicest hostels either of us had ever stayed at. Very clean, very spacious, and a lot of cool guests. The beds were very comfortable and the staff were helpful. Will absolutely stay here again next trip to Lisbon. Only negatives were the noise from down on the street, and there was no A/C in our room (8-bed dorm) whereas I think there may have been A/C in some of the other rooms.

Really fun hostel, mostly Aussies (including the staff)- well-located near the bars and easy beach access. Very relaxed environment- would definitely stay there again.

Casa d'Alagoa

We enjoyed our stay at Casa d'Alagoa-- the staff were helpful and fun, and the guests all got along quite well. The hostel is pretty well located, with easy access to the ferry to the beach and also to the train/bus station. The dinner at the hostel was pretty decent as well. It would be good to add lockers for the guests to use.

Abhostel

Bridget and Greg and the boys are the best hosts for a stay in Antwerp. The place is excellent- lots of common areas, and even the ten bed dorm was very spacious. Full kitchen, free eggs for breakfast, and access to Robert's guitar were all highlights. I will definitely stay again if returning to Antwerp!

Great location for a trip to Bruges. The hostel is a bit crowded but the facilities are great, it is very secure, and the bar is fun.

Residence les Ecrins

Residence les Ecrins was perfect for my stay in Brussels--- it is reasonably priced for what it offers, which is a very hospitable host, a clean and secure room, and a central location. It is a quiet building, with all basic amenities in good working order (including free WiFi), and the complimentary breakfast includes a nice selection of fresh fruit and breads. I would definitely stay here again if returning to Brussels!

Red Nest Hostel Valencia

We stayed here for three nights. The location was great-- right in the heart of the old city, with easy access to metro and buses. Bar and deck on the top floor with group activities/outings each night-- we didn't partake, but these seemed popular amongst the guests. A/C unit in the room worked but was kind of "interesting" and the breakfast they offered looked like a mini box of cocoa puffs for 2 EUR, although there was a fridge available for use. The computers/internet broke every night.

Hotel de la Tour Eiffel

Paris, France

We stayed here for four nights. Absolutely perfect in terms of location-- just a couple of blocks from the Eiffel Tower, walking distance to a number of other things, and easy access to the metro. Small room, which was to be expected, but very clean and a surprisingly great shower. Beware of their breakfast "recommendation" for which they may try to charge you $9 regardless of whether you actually go there to eat. Fortunately, they took this off of our bill when we discussed further.
