It was an ok hostel but more of a place to go if you're in a group looking to go out at the weekend. Everyone staying there is practically living there trying to find work so it's a bit awkward if you're not doing the same. However, people were friendly enough and the staff were helpful. One minor point is that in the girls bathroom there's no frosted glass on the window or even a blind so you have to get changed in full view of apartments and houses next door, definitely needs more privacy.

Hi there, Thanks for your comment. In the girl's bathroom, we do in fact have a kind of film that covers the surface of the window, which allows those inside to see out while blocking the view from outside. Thanks for your stay.

This hostel is quite quirky and has a cool area to relax in, however, it is a bit far out of town. Staff moved our things into the reception area without our permission whilst on a tour (booked by them) at 4am. They wanted us to move rooms but did not tell us what to do with our things so we left them neatly aside in our room. The main issue with this is that they let random people into the hostel who work in the town and when we arrived there was a sign about a stolen iPod, not good!

Really cool hostel with excellent common areas. The rooms are big and spacious with comfortable beds. Also the staff are really helpful and friendly plus give good advice about safety. There are only a couple of downsides, it's a bit overpriced and if there are less beds available the prices get increased (bit cheeky) and it could do with a bit of a revamp in areas i.e. door handles coming loose, our door didn't shut properly so was left open all night & rooms need a repaint, but worth a stay!

Hi !! Thank you for giving us your feedback! I'm happy to tell you that, at the moment, all rooms are being repainted. It will take a while but we're getting there! Regarding the handle, we're sorry that that happened to you, just know there's always someone at front desk you can talk to. We will always do our best and help you out while getting the problem fixed =) We are happy that you had a nice stay and hope to see you next time!!

Vale and Claudio are the best!!! This is more of a homestay than a hostel, you are welcomed into their home and they treat you like a member of the family. On the first night they made this amazing pizza for everyone. They also helped us hire ski stuff and took us to the ski park the next day. Plus they are just really friendly. Definitely worth a stay!

This hostel was really nice! The rooms are clean and comfortable, there's a spacious common area and it's not far from the centre. The only downside (not a biggie) is that the kitchen is quite small. Definitely worth a stay!

Hi there, thanks for your feedback and really glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We appreciate that our kitchen is a little on the small side but we do offer the free meal in the bar each evening which does relieve the congestion especially at busy times. Hope you were able to take advantage of that. I'm sorry you found the beds creaky but the good news is we are in the process of having them replaced so hopefully you can come back and see us in the future and stay in our awesome new beds!

Nice place to stay in Mount Eden. The only issue was that everyone seemed to work at the hostel or were staying long term so the atmosphere was a bit lost, everyone had already established friend groups so didn't chat much. Still a nice place.

The resort is lovely but we booked through here thinking we'd be staying in a chalet as the pictures on here showed lovely chalet rooms and mentioned the Longhouse as an afterthought. If you book through here you'll be staying in the Longhouse which is basic and nowhere near the standard of the chalets. After talks the manager upgraded us due to the confusion which was appreciated. The staff here were mixed, some very attentive and some no so much. Worth a stay if you know what you're purchasing

Cool location near to the Li River and the back of the 20 yuan note. Nice hostel inside with clean rooms. One staff member was a bit slow and unhelpful (not necessarily intentionally) but other guests at reception gave us more help with directions etc. Quite tasty woodfire pizzas.

This hostel was ok. One staff member checked us in early because we were sick which was nice. At one point we came out to use the bar/restaurant but couldn't find any space and the people using the area weren't even staying at the hostel which was really annoying. We arrived off a train in the early morning and arrived to find the hostel chained up and had to knock for a while to get an answer. On a positive note they give you a coffee and a beer token.

An ok hostel. Not located in the Old town so location isn't great. The staff were friendly but not very accommodating when you asked how to do activities independently which is quite unhelpful. Also the staff seem to be on edge as the hostel owner is hanging around constantly not doing much but watching them plus not actively greeting guests either.

This hostel is ideally located in the old town of Lijiang. It is really nice and has a lovely courtyard area. The staff were friendly and mostly helpful. We had a slight issue with noise, the 1st night we were kept awake by a person playing a guitar and the 2nd we were kept awake by a noisy drum shop across the road. We spoke to reception about the drums they said they were aware of the issue but nothing was done. This aside we would recommend here but perhaps request a room away from reception

Han Tang Inn Hostel

The dorm rooms were TINY! Our 6 bed dorm should only have been a 4 bed at most. There was no room for all of our luggage with 2 guys sleeping with their bags on their beds. The bathroom was not cleaned well with the shower curtain covered in black mould. Having said this the hostel was located near to the Muslim Quarter and did have a cool roof terrace. Also the atmosphere was relaxed and we did enjoy our stay. Perhaps a private room would be better.

The Great Wall Box House

This hostel was fantastic and conveniently located practically on the wall. Joe was so helpful with suggesting ideas of what walks we could do. The rooms were lovely and modern with a very clean shared bathroom. The outside bit was really nice with comfortable seats for relaxing in the sun. We would definitely recommend this hostel to people who want to see a real section of the Great Wall, with Joe's enthusiasm you'll no doubt design an excellent trip. One thing, the directions were a little hard to understand but we found it eventually.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hostel is ideally located near to a metro station so everywhere in the city is accessible. The staff were incredibly friendly and helped us with directions and information, The hostel itself is really nice, although the rooms are a bit basic. Also, a small but nice breakfast is included, Definitely recommended.

It's difficult to review this hostel as we didn't stay there in the end. The water stopped working so they asked us if we'd move to their sister hostel below Mt.Huangshan. As this suited our plans we went. The sister hostel was much nicer and I would recommend that more that this one. Old Street located ideally in the city but if you want to climb the mountain the other hostel is more ideal. Old Street has character but there was communication issues with the staff, but they were still nice!

Nice hostel with good facilities but I don't like the fact that they charge to store luggage when the room prices are hardly cheap. Some staffing issues most were very helpful but when we first checked there was a long wait with a bit of confusion about our altered booking and for a while were told we had to pay for a shower before 3pm but then that was rectified later and we were allowed to shower free of charge. Saying that, it was very clean, comfy beds and nice big clean kitchen/seating area

One member of staff was extremely rude to us as soon as we arrived, shouting the door code at us which is not listed in their information. She completely ruined our stay, making us feel very uncomfortable to be there. They also DO NOT accept credit cards as stated so we had to withdraw more money at an extra cost. This hostel is in a really good location and the dorms are pretty cool but this is completely overshadowed by the apparent lack of any customer service!
