A good central location in Guilin - very handy for the bus and train stations. Prices average. Room fairly comfortable and clean. Food OK but nothing special, a fairly limited menu and nothing very adventurous or spicy on it, noodle soups filling but rather bland. The lack of an outside seating area is a downside. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Crystal who gave me some great info on getting to Huangyao.
Quite a good location, a bit far to walk from the bus and train stations but very handy for the river and the main shopping and restaurant areas. Decent large clean rooms - average price. Food OK but nothing special, filling but a bit bland - no chillies! There's a small outside seating area. The staff were OK and reasonably friendly but didn't go out of their way to help guests.
A very good location next to Jinbi Square in the heart of the city, quite noisy at night though. A bit more expensive than average. A nice rooftop terrace for sitting outside with a drink or meal. The food is quite good, though beer is rather expensive. Staff were fairly friendly although they didn't really go out of their way to helpful, some had pretty poor English.
Bed rather saggy. Bathrooms very cramped and in serious need of refurbishment. I suspect if the hostel was busy you'd spend a lot of time queuing for the bathrooms and for breakfast in the small kitchen. Very handy location though.
