Alberto & Lidia are two of the nicest people we have come across in our travels. They are both so helpful and take pride in being friendly and approachable. The hostel is in a great location and is clean and tidy. The rooms were comfortable and the showers and toilets were clean. It was a little cold but it is mid-winter! The only annoyance was the chickens crowing and the dogs barking in neighboring properties but this can't be helped. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We stayed here for one night when our flight got in to Lima in the early hours. It could not have been more perfect. Super friendly staff picked us up from the airport despite it being almost 2am. Staff when we got to the hostel were excellent and the place was clean and tidy and warm. Awesome breakfast the next morning and a fun and colourful environment. Thanks guys!

We were really disappointed with this hostel. Yes it's cheap, yes it's only a 15 min walk to downtown but the area it is in is shady, not the kind of place to go out alone at any time of day. The security is terrible - the door to our room didn't even close let alone lock. There is nowhere to sit and socialize unless you want to spend money in the cafe. The kitchen floor feels as though it is about to cave in and the place is dirty and falling apart. Spend the extra and stay in the HI.

A really cool set up. MASSIVE common area which is pretty chilled out and easy to meet and chat with people. There were lockers for stuff that you want to lock away. The room we slept in was super quiet which is always a bonus in hostels. The kitchen area was kind of small, not many can cook at once! The staff were super friendly and helpful and the location was really good - not super close to the action but Montreal is spread out and the best way to see it is by walking around. Brilliant.

This place is super creepy. But really, REALLY cool. It's an awesome place to spend a couple of nights. The staff are really friendly and helpful and always there to help out if you need anything. Sleeping in a cell was a different experience! My bed was super uncomfortable and really really creaky but it's a old cell bunk so I was kind of expecting it. It's really clean and tidy and the breakfast in the morning is A+ - bagels, eggs, fruit, juice, coffee etc. Close to everything too.

A really lovely cozy hostel. It was nice and quiet at night, safe and secure. If I had to nitpick, a breakfast is always very appreciated and also there aren't very many showers but this can't really be helped. The owner wasn't as friendly as we were lead to believe but the cat more than made up for it! Overall, a lovely place to spend a few nights and within walking distance to everything you need to be near to.

Cheap place to lay your head. Place could do with a total refurb though, it's really tired and grubby looking, housekeeping clearly work hard but they are fighting a losing battle. The breakfast wasn't all that, could do with maybe offering a choice other than either pancakes or rice crispies. Spot on for location, near everything pretty much! It can get pretty loud at night, especially on the weekends due to the bar. Staff were friendly and helpful. But the location is the major perk!

Thank you for your review, we will pass on your compliments to our staff! We do face challenges as we are in a historic building. As you say though our housekeepers do work very hard and although the building it bit worn it is definitely clean. We do supply free pancakes and cereal at breakfast, we will definitely take into consideration adding items, although we do try and keep our costs as low as possible so that these savings can be passed onto our guests in regards to room nights!
