Would have liked to rate it higher. I am hoping that if a staff person, in this case Anita, are in a bad mood or stressed, that they not put that on a guest. In this case myself. Specifically I was looking at the key for storage to communicate that is the key I would need ( as often there is a language barrier since my German is not perfect) I left the key on the counter and pointed to it. Her she felt the need to go on some lecture about the key. Annoying at least! And never an apology! Typica

Community lives! they turned a factory into a cool communal hot spot in the center of hardcore east berlin. great kitchen and socializing areas. kind and smart staff who are living the lifestyle of real community. comfy beds w good bedding. Real Berlin at its best! A rare and nature crafted community indeed. Wild hearts welcome. snobby whiners may prefer a commercial enterprise elsewhere. Ask about swimming in local lakes. This is the less explored area of Berlin and a worthy adventure indeed!!!

Grand Berlin with the best free tour info and good priced bike tours. Jerome, Christian and Daniel know all the best spots and managed to organize club outings and bike tours from the onsite bar and and library. The underground just outside goes direct to the best clubs in Berlin and the facilities are 5star (except no pool). The staff directed us to Baden Shaft a pool built into the river on the same U line. The beds and linens are first class as are the bathrooms and facilities in general. Thx

Well managed, nice property, decent facilities at a very good value. At peak season the best rooms fill up very very fast and many people want to stay here so book early. If it is too busy and you book later you might get a room in Kikies Homebase that is nice enough. They are so popular they are expanding and they can sort out all your travel needs, tour, treks, bus, etc. Fun to socialize as there are always a good group of travelers willing to explore the city together. Arrived from Bangkok 6am on a rough cheap bus and waited til check in. The boy working at the desk calls himself Boom tried to overcharge me in my exhausted state for laundry and my wallet went missing during the time I was sorting the laundry at the foot of the tour desk where he was selling treks. My trust was lost and I stayed at backups. The owner lady is very gracious and sophisticated woman and I would stay at her place. She charged me the correct laundry price and deserves better staff!!!
