Athens Backpackers, Athens, Greece

Athens backpacker, this is my third stay with a few years in between and the hostel remains a good option for Athens. Run like a professional hostel, great staff and if your looking for one reason to stay here it should be the rooftop bar with incredible views of the Acropolis nearby. That being said the hostel does not seem to have renovated or replaced anything in the last years since last stay and is definitely not as clean as it used to be and also quite expensive for a hostel in Athens.

The ratings don't lie, this is a great and professionally run hostel. Staff is super helpful, location is central and the rooms and facilities are of high standard and kept spotlessly clean. Can recommend when in Bremen.

Overall a good hostel if you need to stay a night close to the airport. Not much else around and no 'hostel atmosphere' but that's ok because they are catering to people coming or going to the airport. Very clean, secure and friendly staff.

Very central, traditional style big hostel. Stayed here for a night for a conference in a one bedroom when all the Hotels where booked out or prices where unreasonably inflated. Rooms are small but nice and have everything you need for short stay. Staff was great, helpful with awesome insider tipps for Sightseeing!

Great location, friendly staff. One of very few budget options that I can recommend if you want to stay on the venice islands. Accommodation is basic but adequate. Reception has specific opening hours so make sure to check these out - it's got a bit of the old school hostels international vibe. Clean but very old, like everything in venice. It won't be the most luxurious place you have ever stayed at but if your looking for an affordable option this place is absolutely OK for 1-2 nights.

6th Sep 2014

We had a great stay at Anny Studios. This "hostel" was converted from a top-end Hotel and has many of the same features. Lovely en suite rooms that overlook a stunning pool with a great bar and vibe. The Location could not be better (down a small passage) right of the black sand beach. Apart from the top notch facilities what made our stay truely great was the awesome staff. The were welcoming, helpful, laid back and all-round awesome... Thank you Ilena, Adonis & Vasillis. We will be back!!

As hostels in Moscow go this one is the crown. That being said hostels in Russian are quite different than those in europe. Excpect a great place to sleep, take a meal and ask for advice and info but not much more in atmosphere. Of course that is ok because really you have come to see the city :)

a decent hostel for a short stay in phuket, patong. 2 mins walk to bangla road and all the nightlife there and on the beach. the hostel is a bit small and somewhat hidden in a tiny alley behind a massage shop but the staff is friendly and for patong not too expensive...

Did not really enjoy this hostel, there is no atmosphere at all. the rooms are small and they charge you extra to change the sheets after a few days, only 2 single toilets/showers for the entire hostel and you have to go get a small piece of toilet paper at the reception. small lockers not in room. Pretty much nothing was impressive about this place and on top of that it was not really that cheap either.

This is a great party hostel to stay at for the full moon parties and other parties on Haat Rin beach. Run by David, a super friendly frenchman that fell in love with this island years back and has never left. The staff seem genuinlely interested to make sure you have a great and safe time on this party island. Thumbs up!

This hostel is run by Luigi in what seems a one-man show. He is super friendly and will help you with anything that you need. Cheepest private beds (or beds in general) on koh samui, great for a budget traveller. I would stay here again, only negative is that the shutters were closed and he was not there when I arrived or departed, obviously since he is the only one there he cant always be around. But if you are a chilled traveller and dont mind waiting a few minutes that is no prob. great food.

Hi Ben, Thanks for your comment and to understand the sacrifices that i do to run my hostel as best as i can. You arrived earlier and checked in earlier that's why you had to wait few minutes. ;-) Didn't know what time you left and i was sorry to don't be here as i told you by mail. Thanks for your stay and wish you the best. Regards Luigi

absolutely loved this place, a nice break from dormatory style backpacking to a great room with aircon and super clean and big. Just a few meters from the beach and a short walk to the nightlife and bars in Lamai. This resort is connected to a restaurant on the beach. The food here is ok but you could find better at the stalls on the main street. Would recommend if you want a place to chill and sleep properly in Thailand.

The hostel is very central, just 2 minutes walk from Khoa San road. Good hostel to meet people but not really a party hostel unless you take matters into your own hands. This is all in all not a bad place to stay. Value for money and in a great location just about 2 mins walk from the "needle" in double, ie O'Connell Street. On the otherhand I was not blown away, the staff was Ok but just that...not incredibly friendly or helpful (considering its Dublin and everyone is friendly :). All in all a decent place to saty for 1-2 nights if your looking for something on a budget and you want to be central, for longer stays I would personally try out another hostel.

This is not just a hostel, it is a legend. If you are going to Amsterdam I would stay nowhere else. The only warning I give you here is that this is a party hostel so you should be prepared for the odd drunk person causing a ruckus in the dorm. If you have a normal tolerance for that kind of thing this really is an amazing hostel and the staff really know what they are doing!

This is a lovely bohemian getaway hostel in a busy but charming tourist street just behind the Blue Mosque and within walking distance of most of the things you will want to see. We stayed in a private en suite which was great and reasonably afforable but the dorm rooms also looked great - the bunk beds have these sweet curtains that can be drawn closed. The owners and staff clearly put a lot of thought and love into this hostel...great place to stay. PS: Breakfast on the rooftop also great :)

In short if you are just looking for a place to crash in a truely great location than this hotel is the one for you. Do not expect anything special from the actual hotel, it is quite clean but the rooms are very small and the "en suite" was actually kinda built into the cuboard ;) A few minutes by foot from Victoria Station you will be hard pressed to find something this convinient in the same price range... Still..this is a great affordable and convienient option for short trips to London

Basically in the heart of Paris on a budget, the rooms are small... heck the whole building seems to have been split in to as many rooms as physically possible :) But not unusual for Paris... the small space that is. And for the rest it is all in order: friendly staff... a good location and for the centre of Paris not too pricey. If you are not planning to spend much time in your room and want something central then this is a good choice.

Considering it is Zermatt this is an affordable place to stay, close to the Paradise ski lift and a nice old-style chalet- Not a bad place to stay at all. But if you do not care about that and just want a place to crash and catch some snowboading then this is a decent hostel.

Decent Hostel for a ski weekend and at a good price for Zermat. The staff seemed entirely unintrested to help you with anything but judging by all the other reviews for the hostel that say they same... for ages, and they still have not changed anything. But if your looking for something decent on a budget this place is quite alright. Just do not expect any kind of social atmosphere... you can find that at the bar across the road .. apre ski time :)
