So I can see why this place doesn't have amazing reviews its old and in need of some love but it was clean the staff where friendly and the location is good. Charging 5 pounds to make a change on a booking is a rip off never in all my travels have I been told there is a fee to change the booking not cancel just change the day and then when I asked a question I didn't receive and answer.I would stay here again but given the choice I would try somewhere else before I came back.

Amazing every one should stay here its only only been open a few days and I have already told my friends to book here for their visit to Scotland. it was super clean cheap and good food and drinks in the bar. Some of the best service I've had from the reception team thanks guys and I have to mention Aaron and his amazing free walking tour. One thing I would change is another hook in the showers one is just not enough.

I love this place I have stayed here before, last time I didn't think it could get any better but some how it is. It's even cleaner then before I saw the kitchen being cleaned 3 times in one day any my room was spotless well apart from the mess my room mates made but I can't fault the hostel on that. The staff are super friendly answering all of my question and chatting and partying with us even if they weren't working. I will always come back to Astor every time I'm in London. Thanks guys

Really cool looking hostel, could do with fixing/ changing things eg. more then one light in the room should work in the room, being able to have a hot shower after being out all night chasing the northern lights would have been nice (we tried all different times and only ever had a warm shower) the kitchen was nice but the only place to meet people with out going to their bar our room was next to the kitchen and was quite noisy. I stayed on the 4th floor and my key opened the 3rd floor as well

To check in you have to go to the bar next door where it seems like its a hassle to check you in. I emailed the hostel twice and did not receive a response once. the wifi did not work in our room and we where told we should have sat in the common area in the middle of the night to use it, ok not so bad you say well it would have been ok if there was heating in the common area it was so cold it was snowing out side. There was no atmosphere do not stay here if you want to meet people.

Thank you for your comment. Unortunately we cannot control the temperature outside the hostel ( this maybe have been the hottest year since 230years a go!). About the construction, we are really sorry but since now the future guests can enjoy private bath in the room :) See you next time U will be in Rome. thank you.

I checked in late and when I got to my room I found that I didn't have any sheets do I had to go back to reception to get get then and then make my bed at 1am the next day house keeping came in and made the rest of the beds for the new guests meaning if they checked in late like me they could do it with out waking the room. While I was staying there people had things stolen from there room by some one not staying at the hostel. Plus is a long way out of the city and not in a nice area after dark

Despite that I would stay there again infact I am trying to work plans so I can stay again. The atmosphere was so welcoming and relaxed the staff more helpful then those at most hostels other then security I can not fault them on anything. you do want to stay here just be prepared to extend your stay in Budapest
