Each bed has its own drapes which is quite neat for people who want more privacy. The hostel is at zone 2, 5 mins walk to tube station. And there are direct buses to king's cross and london paddington stations. The locker beneath each bed is a stupid design coz it makes loud noises every time someone opens it. There is individual reading light for each bed. Good security since each room and hallway requires key card. Shower design is stupid that you need to keep pressing to make it keep flow.
One of the best hostels I've stayed. Excellent location next to the Castle. The room is spacious, didn't feel packed even with 10 beds. The are individual plugs and lockers for each bed. The lounges are huge, kitchen with fridges and utensils. Good wifi access. Bed linens are clean. Walking distance to train, bus station and other major attractions in old city. Washrooms and toilets are clean too. Price is very reasonable.
hostel is operated inside a residential property which lacks a reception. You will need to call them to pick you up from the nearest tube station which might be inconvenient to visitors who lack a phone or late arrivals. I never saw a single staff around after check in. People in the dorm came in and out and the door was never locked. There is only 1 light switch for the room so it wakes you up when someone turns on the light. People in my room were rowdy and stuff was all over the floor.
The location is bad. A 15 min walk is required to get to the closest tube station, Acton Town, which is in zone 3. It is very inconvenient carrying all the luggage if you are coming from the airport. The hotel is a back operation of a bar/restaurant which lacks a proper reception. The manager is snappish and not very helpful. There is no clean linen for the room and I could feel dust on my bed. Wifi is non-existent. Bathroom cleanliness and facilities could be improved.
Good value for money. The bed is a bit squeaky when someone on the top bunk moves.
