El Faro Beach Hostel

Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
80%

Cool hostel, which seems simple at firts glance but shows its character after a little time. It is next to the entrance to the Manuel Antonio National Park and only 5min walking distance from the public beach. Hostel has a nice pool area- some nights ovies are shown there, turning the pool area into an open air cinema! All rooms are equipped w/ fans but taking one w/ a/c is highly recommended ;) Bathrooms &showers are ok and clean (even though they were out of order for one day after a storm)

Hotel Dorothy

La Fortuna, Costa Rica

Smal and simple hotel with private bathrooms in each room a little outside of La Fortuna. The centre is just max. 5 walking minutes way, so a really good value for money hostel. ANd you have a beautiful view from the common terrace on the mountains. Staff is helpful with plannung and booking - the volcano hike & hot springs we booked with them was really good. Rooms had fans and were ok, could be a little cleaner though.

Camino Verde Hostel and B&B

Monteverde, Costa Rica

Camino Verde is a very very nice B&B. It is very clean, and the staff is very friendly, very helpful. We booked a twin w/ shared bathrooms and even got an upgrade for one night to a room w/ private bath... The breakfast is included (as well as tea and coffee the whole day) and is really delicious! The hostel is 5min walking minutes from the centre of Santa Elena, but little restaurants and a mini supermarket are next door! Overall we had a great stay at the hostel and highly recommend it.

Yamen Hostel

Pingyao, China

Actually a nice courtyard hostel in a good location, but avoid the Dorms! The Ensuite-2Bed-Rooms seem to be a good choice for PingYao though!!!! It was NOT VERY CLEAN, especially the common showers and toilets. Even after asking the staff to clean the only (!) 'western' toilet, nothing happened! Our 3-Bed room was REALLY NOISY as the 'window' faced the street and it was on top of the bar/reception! Computers did not work and the staff booked wrong train tickets for us!

The Great Wall Box House

Beijing, China

This is the most beautiful and nicest hostel I've ever been to. In the quiet town of Gubeikou, surrounded by hills and the Great Wall, waiting for a hike! It is a really clean, new, zen-like place, with cute cats and the most friendly&helpful staff. The dorms are spacious, the bathrooms are very clean and for a hostel almost luxurious, and you will always find a place in the courtyard that suits you best for relaxing! After all: highly recommend!!!!!!! It's totally worth the 4h getting there!

Baikaler Hostel

Nice Hostel in a good location. Clean Rooms and friendly, helpful staff. For most people Irkutsk is just a stopover, though, so don"t expect a place good for hanging out and meeting people....

Trans-Siberian Hostel

Really good Location, close to Bars, Restaurants, Shopping and in walking distance to the important sights. Lovely Hostel, with a lot of nice people and spacious rooms. Though the kitchen/community could be a bit bigger (which is planned...) Definitely a recommended Hostel!
