Lockers were on the small side, they did not fit my dslr camera. The storage room however is very convenient if you arrive before check-in time. The location is very good, but it was hard to make contact woth others. People tended to stick to their own groups and the staff were mainly entertaining each other. If you needed anything though, they were helpful en enough. The beds were suprisingly comfy. A good improvement would be installing bed lights and adding a restroom with seperate access.

A Casa di Amici

A great atmosphere at a great (small) price. The kitchen has al though the utensils and pots and pans one could possibly need. Clean towels are included and Santos is very happy to cook for his guests. The beds are ok, but not more than that and it would be nice if there would be lockers next time. But all in all, we had a great stay in A Casa di Amici. Recommended.

Olga's Place

The Russian hostesses are great. They put on such sad faces when I left and I don´t even think they were acting it. They are knowledgable and genuinly interested in your experiences, the beds are comfy, kitchen ok but not great. the location isn´t in the old city centra but you are there in a 15min walk. Probably perfect for surfers as it is right up the beach. I would happily go there again.

Pension Alver

Cudillero, Spain

I paid for a single private room, and what I got was a generous double bed and very clean room. The floor of bothe the pension and the verious rooms is mobbed every single day. I loved my stay and I loved Cudillero. The coastal scenery in the area is spectacular and Pension Alver is one of the best places to explore the area.

Bilbao Akelarre Hostel

Bilbao, Spain

The hostel in itself is not bad. The beds are comfortable and showers are warm. Even the distance to town isn´too bad if you don´t mind walking the same bridge over and over again, or if you like to use the metro. (I hate the metro). The tram offers a goopd alternative. The place is however without a soul. The quiet time starts at 23.30h and is carefully observed. People tend to be withdrawn and to themselvers in this space. You can still meet people, but it requirs some effort.

HostelOne Puerta Del Sol

Any rating of a hostel is based on personal experience. HostelOne Puerta de Sol is in itself nothing special - the living room is small and the showers are tiny, no breakfast, no outside space - but I had a fabulours time. The staff, though not very knowledgable, hang out with the commahn guests all the time. For me, it was quite perfect. If you like small and personal this is a good choice. If you likie fancy services, this is not the one.

Residenza Santa Croce

Venice, Italy

The location is brilliant and that is what counts most in Venice. An easy 2-minute walk from the station. The front door is always open, so you can look for your key inside. Conclusion: super safe, not that that is truly necessary in Venice. I was in a room up in the 'attic'. The beds were a bit bumpy and everything feels old. However the shower and air conditioning (big bonus) work fine. There is no common room/kitchen so you have to work hard to create an atmosphere.

Hostel DownTown

An easy to find hostel at a great location: between the old and new town and near to a bridge. The staf is not always that friendly, perhaps because of the long hours they seem to be making. The lady at the reception was suprised we had no small change when we had to pay at our immediate arrivel. Who has 50 ck when you just step out of train/plain? The rooms are really spacious and quiet and the beds are soft. One downside is the camping-style showers which have to pressed in every 3 seconds.

This is truly a lovely informal hostel/ apartment. It feels as if you are staying with a friend (who speaks pefect English) who trusts you with the key and shows you around. You can even pay at the end of your stay. Unfortunately the bed also makes you feel as if you are a welcomed but unexpected frued. The bed springs poak in your bed and the rooms are on a busy street. Conclusion: a lot of atmosphere and not too much comfort. But it remains a great hostel with an excellent price/ quality value
