I recommend the half day panda tour. The driver doesn't speak English all that much but he took us around to all the enclosures at ideal times and took all the guesswork out of the visit as we didn't need to think about where to go. We saw most things before the crowds of people arrived which was great. Definitely worth doing this tour.

Dragon King Hostel

Our 1st room was a two person twin (room 115). This was directly next to the restaurant/bar area and due to this staying open until 2am it was really noisy for one of the nights. Our 2nd room was room 217(5?) and this was a nice 4 person room upstairs. A special mention in relation to Ruby and Candice from reception who remembered everyone's name - fantastic service provided by both! Note the Mutianyu Great wall tour only has the cable car option and not the toboggan option. Would recommend it.

HI - Boston Hostel

Best hostel that we have stayed in. Facilities are new. There is plenty of space in the rooms and in the common areas. They have a wide range of breakfast options and even gluten free bread! They also have activities running each day so there are plenty of opportunities to meet new people. Would definitely stay at HI Boston again and would definitely recommend it to friends.

HI - Chicago Hostel

Really enjoyed my stay at HI Chicago. Staff were helpful, place was clean and wifi was available throughout the hostel. Would definitely stay there again. There were plenty of common areas (on each level as well as the main areas). The only drawback was that they didn't have many organised outings through the hostel so it was hard to meet people. They did have a tourist centre and they could give you advice on where to go to do the touristy things.

Did not enjoy my stay at this hostel at all. Stayed in a 6 bed room which was small. There was insufficient room to fit all luggage off to the side so our bags were right next to our beds and we had to climb over them to get out. The "air con" barely cooled down the room and you couldn't adjust the temperature. You could only get wifi downstairs in the lobby (very limited area). This is definitely not a hostel to stay at if you want to have a decent sleep. Would NEVER stay there again.

HI - Washington DC Hostel

Washington DC, USA

Had a great time at HI Washington DC. The staff there were really friendly and activities we run every day so it was easy to meet new people. There is only WIFI available on the first two levels but there is plenty of space to sit and relax. There is a decent spread of items for breakfast but the only downside is that you have to wash your own crockery and cutlery. Would definitely stay there again.

The hostel is located in the old city which is great cause you don't have to walk far to get to most of the tourist attractions. The staff are friendly and there is a big kitchen downstairs and great washing facilities. They also have activities so that you can meet new people (we only stayed one night but went to the movie night that they held). Would stay here again.
