Bathrooms were filthy and the entire time we were there(4 nights) it smelt like someone had urinated on the floor. Only a rotten smelling fridge and microwave in the "kitchen" oh, and two plates, but no cutlery. Rather than spend the afternoon waiting at this hostel for our 6pm bus we opted to walk around the rainy streets- no central communal area to chill out in. Won't stay here again. Yuck

Sorry you were not happy with us - We had a plumbing problem, which has now been resolved & fixed. The bathrooms are cleaned on a regular basis & hopefully no more plumbing issues. It seems someone played a trick on us - by removing the plates & cutlery - we found them all in a room - it would have been nice to be told. Our lounge is used by many happy guests, sorry you didn't use it. We feel bad when a guest is unhappy as we really try hard to please. Best, Lorraine

Positives- The staff were really friendly, and close to train station. Negatives-The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable and our private room window was right next to a street light which shone in through the white curtains every night. Also this hostel has two buildings and if you're staying in the second building then you have to walk up the road to the reception building every morning for breakfast and also to use the equipped kitchen for cooking etc.

This hostel felt unsafe with seedy guys hanging around and no security other than the front door to the hostel room (any one could walk off the street and knock on your door if they wanted). We jammed a chair under our door handle every night for extra piece of mind. We avoided using the dirty kitchen due to the seedy guys smoking weed out the front. Location wise it's near a trolley stop so easy to get into town- about a ten minute ride or so.

The room was good but the kitchen was filthy with little to no plates/cups or cutlery. Also note that this hostel is NOT in Orlando, it is in Kissimmee so check your greyhound bus terminal location. Unless you have your own car or want to visit disneyworld, this place is in the middle of nowhere. Just for something to do, we had to catch THREE buses to the Florida mall and then three back to the hostel. Travel time including waiting for the buses was over two hours each way. Terrible location!

We enjoyed our relaxing stay here. Our room was very spacious and clean with a ceiling fan and a big bathroom. The kitchen was large and well equipped and even had a coffee machine and fresh drinking water for the guests to use. We also enjoyed cooling down in the pool which was right outside our room. The owners were lovely and very helpful and have a good knowledge of things to do in the local area. Akumal is a 5 minute collectivo ride away and then it's a 5 min walk to the beach.

Very disappointed with this hostel. Very expensive for prison cell style rooms complete with a hard foam mattress and mosquito infestation in the private room. The open air kitchen is consistently filthy with a sink full of dirty dishes, bugs and even stray cats. If you enjoy constant loud music, people offering you drugs in the common area and generally unhelpful staff then you might enjoy staying here. We however did not.

We stayed at La Coperacha for one night and felt very safe here. The owner was extremely helpful booking taxis for us and he even accompanied us to the bus stop to ensure we didn't get lost, which we greatly appreciated. Our room was clean and cosy and we enjoyed the delicious home cooked breakfast that was included. Thanks so much for all you help!
