The bar was shut downstairs so the atmosphere was a little dead (due to it being off season) but the location is great and the staff are helpfull.

Only stayed here one night so can't really say too much about this place, the beds were comfy and the wifi worked. We flew out early the next morning...

Seven Hostel

Sorrento, Italy

The rooftop area is amazing here with 360 degree views across the town. Wifi was not the worst, but definitely not the best. The place is located about 5-10 minute walk to the train station and about 20-25 minute walk to Sorrento itself. Staff were more than happy to help where they could. The food offered there is not great but you get what you pay for, there's an awesome restaurant (cheap) called Di Pappinos which was only a few minutes walk away. Would stay here again

Location is right near the Vatican city which is handy for that aspect but it is a fair hike to the nearest metro (about 1km). All of the other ruins etc. are location on the other side of the river. Staff were good from what i could tell, I noticed a few reviews bagging them out but they seemed fine. Internet worked fine. No free breakfast sucked. Very much a converted hotel feel about it. Air con in rooms. Lockers would be a welcomed addition

Amistat Beach Hostel

Barcelona, Spain

This place has it all, well except for a sauna. The common area and TV room are awesome, the kitchen is EPIC and the staff were really helpful. Location close to the beach and to the metro - I'd stay here again for sure Be careful if you are going out on La Rambla of a night though, I heard plenty of stories of people getting robbed etc in that area

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hello there! Thanks for your comment, we are really pleased when you enjoy the hostel like this! And what to say about robberies....Barcelona is a safe city but it's true that you have to be careful with pickpocketers. As long as you control your belongings and you keep them safe you won't have any problem! ;)

Great place to stay, has good kitchen facilities and air con in the rooms. Staff were exceptionally helpful and the place was always clean. The location was good if you want to be out of the city centre and there are a number of restaurants and a supermarket close by - I'd stay again.

First off, it's a boat however its very stable so there's no movement or anything. Being a boat means conditions are slightly cramped. BIG WARNING - there was no WIFI while we stayed there, check if this is still the case before booking. Other than that the staff are really helpful and nice.

Not a bad hostel all in all, close to tube station and the downstairs common area/bar is awesome however horribly under-used. Has the potential to be so much better however it seems the hostel is targetted more toward school kids on excursion.....

Only a 30 euro cab ride from the airport and is relatively in walking distance to a lot of the sights. The walking tour with Erica was good as it gave you an overview of parts of the city, it feels rushed but thats the only way you get to see so much without spending all day. Cinema room was cool and the facilities are pretty cool and the beds are comfy. Would more than likely stay there again the next time i'm in Madrid. Also the lockers in each room are a descent size and 24 hour reception

Hootananny Hostel

London, England

Brixton is the Jamaican capital of London and pretty cool to have a look around. The hostel is part of a downstairs pub but the rooms don't generally get too noisy. It is located about 15 minutes from the tube and is do-able even with bags. If the place got some new lounges, a fresh coat of paint and some decent pillows it would make this place awesome, but it would also jack up the price! I never got down into the bar so can't review that but I've heard its good for live music.

Would be infinitely better if there was a kitchen area but there is a connected bar downstairs where you can order food. The area of Paddington is pretty cool and only a 20-30 minute walk to a lot of attractions. Very close to the tube too which was very handy. If you do stay here try and have a look at Little Venice which is around 15 minutes from the hostel - pretty cool

Great place to stay for Autumn/Winter but the rooms get pretty hot in summer and there are no windows/fans/aircon in many of them. Apart from that, the staff are friendly and helpfull, and the location is only a couple of blocks from the Metro

This hostel was ok, and pretty close to the Venice beach boardwalk. The Venice area is a little dodgy but I never really had any problems there. Brekkie and dinner included which was good however no activities are organized by the hostel which was disappointing. All in all, if you are going to stay at Venice - this place is pretty good.
