It’s a good location to see Phuket Old Town and a more upmarket hostel than many I looked at. Staff were friendly.

Perfectly situated to explore the hutong area. Really friendly staff and felt very safe at all times. The only thing is there wasn’t much atmosphere as there are only a few rooms and it has more of a hotel feel - but that was what I was looking for on this occasion.

This is an excellent place to stay as a base for exploring Sigiriya, the national parks and Polonnaruwa (1.5hr bus away) The team who work here are so friendly and will help you out with anything. Many people have said Roy is great and he is! The dinners are excellent - either Sri Lankan served in giant hotpots or a delicious BBQ. Thirdly the dorms are so well equipped - very modern even with hairdryers and kettles (!) but you still feel you are living in a relaxing rural paradise. Go here!!

This isn’t an absolutely fantastic place to stay in Ella. It’s just a minute from the Main Street but on a much calmer street which is great. The hostel is brand new so completely new mattresses, bathrooms, dorms.. really clean and Javier and his team are the best. I was there for new year and they made the most delicious group meal and made such a huge effort to make sure everyone had a great time. I would have loved to stay more!

This is a fantastic hostel in Mirissa - really great family feel, excellent staff and very clean, spacious dorms. Only 5 min walk from the beach and has excellent breakfasts and food. I stayed for Christmas Day and the team put on an absolutely delicious Sri Lankan feast. This is a really friendly place to stay - would love to come back in the future! Thank you Jacob and the team for the lovely time in Mirissa and making us feel so welcome!

Really bright and clean dorm with plenty of space and a lovely lounge area with a sea view. The staff are really friendly and it’s in a great location.

I didn’t find this honestly to be in a very safe area. It’s a great location to get the train to Galle in the morning but during the evening it’s quite dodgy outside and I got followed by a guy. Once you’re in the hostel it felt safe but there are probably much better options to stay somewhere else
Thank you for your feedback, but since starting 5 years back, this is only the 3rd complaint of this nature.....hope you enjoy the rest of the journey! Dinesh

Really lovely owner who gave lots of great advice on exploring the national park. So close to get there in the morning so you can beat the crowds!

Really enjoyed my stay - super friendly staff and comfortable beds. Great location and even has a lovely roof terrace to sunbathe on and look at the volcanoes - definitely recommend!
Thank you ! It was nice having you at the hostel we look forward to your next stay! and next time stay longer :)

Honestly I would never recommend staying here. Worst hostel in a year of travelling. Nothing seemed to be cleaned while I was there so the showers were full of rubbish and hair. It felt like staying in a prison. Not secure at all as the dorm was always open at all hours. Staff seemed to go out of their way to be as rude as possible. Seems like a place that has been coasting on their Lonely Planet recommendation for so long and they've become complacent - there are much better places to stay

Really fun friendly staff and clean comfy beds. Shower was cold which definitely wakes you up on a cold Antigua morning and it's a bit further away from the main area than other places but would recommend it.

This was such a disappointment. After an amazing time in Masaya Bogotá I was really keen to stay in the Masaya Santa Marta and what a difference. The staff were terrible. Unfriendly, really slow, unhelpful. It took almost 40 minutes to check in, they weren't able to give any recommendations, really rude - I wouldn't recommend this place! The rooms were a bit dirty and pretty cramped. There are much nicer places for better money - my regret is I had already booked on here and so had to stay!
Thanks for your thoughts on your stay. We’re happy to see that you had an amazing stay in Masaya Bogotá. I have to confess that we are a bit surprised about your comment about our staff, I've communicated your comment to the manager to keep improving our service ! Feel free to come back and get 10% off on your second stay in a Masaya Hostel.

I've of my favourite hostels on my whole trip! Amazing location, excellent staff. Super clean, curtains on bunk beds with your own electricity sockets and light are such a luxury for backpacking! Breakfast not included but you can't have everything...
Thanks for sharing a second time your Masaya Experience ! We're glad to know that you were convinced by the Masaya concept. Come back, we'll give you 10% off ! Continue the Masaya Experience following us on Facebook : Masaya Hostels.

This was such a great, friendly, clean hostel that I stayed for longer - staff were so knowledgable about all the tours and everyone we booked through them was excellent - thanks :)

Wow this is such a gem of a hostel! The cleanest place I think I have stayed on my whole trip and Alejandra the host is amazing. It is essentially her family house and so has a huge garden, feels so homely and is just lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

Pretty good location and small enough to be peaceful but depending on who is there also a good atmosphere. Only downside is there is only one main bathroom.

Great staff, the alternative tour to Perito Moreno is a must! Quite big but there are large communal areas and a pretty good kitchen and bathrooms so you don't feel like you're on top of everyone. Only thing is it's a bit of a walk to the centre.

Really liked this hostel. Staff were so friendly and it's a great location in Palermo. Lots of space in the dorms and a nice outdoor courtyard area and good kitchen - recommend!

AMAZING!! One of my favourite places in 9 months of travelling! Monica and Miguel are fantastic hosts. What a tranquil, relaxing and amazing place to stay - I ended up staying longer. The horse riding is beautiful, getting out in the Uruguayan countryside is so lovely. The food was awesome - Monica is a fantastic cook. Rooms are excellent - super clean and homely. Absolutely fantastic place - you have to go!!

Ended up staying here for. 2 weeks - fab location and great staff with info on everything you will want to do in Buenos Aires. The rooms are a bit small but the breakfast is good and I would recommend!

This is such a good place for a stopover - really functional but clean dorm rooms, so close to the main station and not far from the centre - will stay here again when I stop over in KL!

Wow this concept is so cool! I was a bit reluctant at a 25 person dorm but it's amazing - you feel like you have you own miniature room in the pod - so clean, amazing staff - definitely recommend!

This is so convenient - staff are amazing! Beds are super comfortable and new mattresses although there's not much space in the dorms. But there's a lift and it's mega clean - would stay here again!

This is ok but just ok. It's huge, feels like a uni halls of residence in the sense that the dorms are really tired and quite dirty, the communal bathrooms are pretty gross and the communal area needs a serious revamp but it's a great location

It's fine if you want to chill out as it's far enough away from the centre to be quiet but there's not that much atmosphere. Lovely staff though!

Worst hostel in my travels so far - basically because Denai Lodge say they have a dorm, which I booked into, but on arrival they say they only have single rooms and you have to stay in what can only be described as a squat opposite. The guy running it is super friendly but it didn't feel totally safe, was mega hot and I couldn't wait to book into somewhere else. The same happened to someone I met so my advice - avoid!

Brilliant find. Tony and Henrik couldn't have been nicer, really clean rooms and bathroom, new mattresses, great air con, excellent location - an easy walk into the heritage centre or the bus station. More of a relaxing, quiet hostel than a place to necessarily meet people but that was exactly what I wanted - would definitely stay here again!
