we stayed in hotel cecil1 2years ago on our first trip to marakesh and they were building the rooms then that make up Hotel Cecil 2 which is the bottom floor of the hotel. these rooms are Very good value for money and the breakfast is great on the terrace. it is quite noisy there till mid night....noise from the lobby/outdoor passage etc...but then we were being boring and went to bed early as we had a morning flight the next day. in terms of location and cost this is a great place to stay

ive thought hard about this review. On the one hand it is superb value for money and the location is good. The breakfast was good too. On the other hand the atmosphere wasn't as fun as we thought it might be from the blurb on the hostel details. It seemed quite subdued in fact. The roof terrace is ok..but no views of the square. The beds were the hardest and smallest i have ever slept on. A shame. i do think these need to be upgraded. A map was offered and advice good.
we absolutely loved staying here. the staff were superb. nothing was too much trouble. the free tea, coffee, water and breakfast made a real difference the pool was good. we had hoped for sea views....from the photos it looks like the rooms look over the pool and sea. not sure any do..our apartment was over a main road. but....we spent so little time in our rooms and they were clean and well equipped...so it didn't matter. its fantastic value for money. we would go back.
a relaxing place to spend some time with a lovely family. good location. lots of advice. a fascinating experience living on the nile. my children enjoyed it very much.
This was an ok hotel for our time in luxor. A bit tired i thought...certainly not up to some of the earlier reviews. i was disappointed in it...but the location is excellent and my children enjoyed the pool.
i thorougly recommend this budget hostel. lots of care taken to make sure we had a good time. the staff were attentive, friendly and informative. excellent.
