Messed up my booking. No dorm room available on arrival. Had to change to private room, with no discount. Staff speaks little English. Bathroom wasn't as clean as you would expect, but room was spacious, had an a/c, TV and a balcony.
Great Hostel in the Center of Hanoi. It's modern, clean, fast wifi, ok breakfast, has a great in house bar (with free unlimited beer happy hours) and hot showers. However, it's a party hostel, there is an in house disco, that makes the whole place vibrate until 3 am. Lockers in dorm rooms are too small.
Great hostel, right in the heart of El Nido. Simple, but good breakfast, lockers for your valuables and a friendly staff that will help you organize everything you desire, from island hopping to motorbike rentals. Wifi works sparsely, which is the norm in the Philippines.
Located about 15-20 min by foot from main train station. Close to major shopping area. Housed within an old traditional Japanese house with tatami floor layout. Quite cold during stay in winter. Small lounge and kitchen area. No lockers in room and only one shower per gender. Staff was very helpful and nice though spoke only very basic English.
Dated hostel off the center with dated staff.
Cute Hostel in the center of Gent. No large lockers for luggage. Unisex shower stalls. Great breakfast.
It is the only hostel in Brasilia and if you stay there you're sure to lodge with a lot of young architects. It is also new, which is always a plus. The sleeping rooms are a bit noisy though, since the windows open to the street and court. Also it's not in the center, but Brasilia is anything of a city for walking so you end up taking the bus/taxi everywhere anyhow. Getting there is a bit difficult, but again that's Brasilias bad infrastructure. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
The following is no dramatization: The hole hostel smelled like urine the whole time I was there, there was an older staff member who was exposing himself nude constantly, the rooms were tiny and cramped with three story beds with no space between and the whole hostel seems sketchy. The entrance is through a garage door between two residential blocks. The doors are constantly unlocked and besides the fear of getting your things stolen, you're in fear constantly of getting molested by the staff.
The location is perfect, you're in the best and safe neighborhood. The hostel is nothing special, but works rather well. Nothing to complain about during my stay.
This is one of the worst hostels I have stayed in and I have backpacked many times including now where I backpack for over three months now across southern Europe. The only thing good about it is it's location, that's it. One of just two bathrooms was broken. The other one had a 1,8 m (5'10") ceiling height and hasn't been cleaned in months. The beds were uncomfortable and loud, the sheets smelled and the room was cold. Over all the whole place was just dirty and smelly - gross!
