Hostel Santini Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

Amazing building, great to stay in it. The ensuite bathroom in our 8 bed dorm could easily have been in a 4/5 star hotel... they even had an elevator with music! Nice, spacious lockers, free breakfast, friendly staff. They hooked us up with a bike tour company which was great for seeing the city and its surroundings.

I really liked the theme of the building (each room themed around a significant figure from Brno) and the coffee in the cafe was really really good. Lovely clean rooms and very comfy beds, good keycard security and very friendly and helpful staff. We had to leave for an early train before the breakfast time, so they packed us breakfast the night before and left it in the fridge, so nice!

This is quite a quiet hostel, so I didn't really meet anyone apart from who was in my own dorm. There is a common area but it's just an open space, maybe some tables here would be good! Facilities really good though, full kitchen, computers, wifi, self service laundry (better cos you can get your clothes back faster) and also a TV on the top floor where I was able to watch EPL matches! Always good! Thanks for a great stay.

Had a great stay. There's a good vibe in the traveller cafe in the evening, especially around the pool table. They also have really good Belgian beers for cheap (Rochefort, Chimay etc) which for me was a godsend after drinking so much terrible rice lager throughout China for so long. If you want breakfast/coffee there in the morning, plan plenty of time. If it's busy they don't cope too well service wise. I would definitely recommend staying here though, and Shanghai is an awesome city!

Really cool vibe here, a series of courtyards with lots of greenery and singing birds. The bar below it is on the Xian nightlife map and pretty buzzing, but the noise is isolated from the rooms completely so you can always sleep well. The traveller cafe at the back is handy for breakfast/coffee/dinner/beer whenever you need it. They had a dumpling/dancing show deal which I did alone (no one else on the list for it!) but I loved it and would recommend!

The Great Wall Box House

Beijing, China
100%

I have booked 30+ places all around the world and this was the best of them all. Having huge lengths of the great wall to yourself is completely mindblowing. If you are hesitating about booking here, stop it and just GO!! Delicious home cooked food, good beer selection, friendly cats, lovely staff, luxury toilets, super comfy beds (even in dorm) and set in a very welcoming village. They have a good driver who can pick you up at the 980 bus stop, this is a good way to avoid hassle.

They booked a train ticket for me for a small fee, which saved me wasting time at the station trying to find an English desk. I recommend that you use this convenient service! I had a great stay at this hostel, it's really homely and I had lots of interesting conversations in the courtyard with other travellers. I felt the breakfast and coffee were a bit overpriced, but these are optional extras anyway. They have a computer with VPN which is really good for facebook etc.

Small place but nice. Comfy beds. Kitchen is basically a microwave and kettle only, but this wasn't a problem for me. There is a large supermarket across the road which was really useful. They helped me get a letter of invitation for my visa which was very very helpful!

Great place, a real home away from home. Super comfy dorms, caring staff, nice kitchen and a nice desktop computer with a massive screen. Nice living room area with TV also, good for chatting with people. Ask them for the shortcut to Mcdonalds.. this will get you to the main part of St Julian's much faster, from where you can take buses to other areas.

Surely the best hostel in Morocco. Staff were amazing, and the central part of the hostel is great for meeting people. The guided tours they offer are excellent and cheap, and I would recommend them as the medina of Fes is an absolute labyrinth and you will never get to see all the best parts without getting lost and harassed if doing it alone. They offer good value cooked dinners also. The chicken pastella here was the best meal I had in my whole 2 week trip in Morocco!

The roof terrace is really nice. There are usually some hippies smoking up there. We don't smoke but they were very nice people nonetheless. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast (costs extra) was nice to eat on the roof in the sun. Computers with internet were available. Cool place, would stay again.

Dubrovnik Backpackers Club

It's a bus ride to old town Dubrovnik, but this is the case for almost all affordable accommodation in this area. This hostel is huge and has pretty much every facility you could want. The family that runs it showed us amazing hospitality during our stay, cooked us dinner and made the whole experience well worth what is quite a high price for a hostel. Breakfast was amazing as well - home made French toast with a choice of spreads, cereals and cheese. If you fill up on this you won't need lunch.

Very friendly staff, good price for Paris. The ensuite bathroom for my 6 bed dorm was very clean. Keycards give good security for your dorm but lockers in the room would be a nice addition. Breakfast was fairly basic (croissant etc) but then it always is in France. All in all a great stay.
