Sunflower Hotel Hoi An

Hoi An, Vietnam

I would definitely stay here again. Athough it is a little outside of the old town you can walk it in 15 mins or get the free shuttle. You can rent bikes for 20vdn from right outside and cycle to the beach in 15 mins which is well worth doing. The dorms are fine though not cleaned very often. The main draw here is the pool which is much needed in this heat. The hostel is full of backpackers and a good place to meet people. The free breakfast is a plus if you get up in time. Recommended.

Mojzo inn

Nha Trang, Vietnam

Like everyone says on here, the staff really make this hostel. They are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help you. The hostel is a good place to meet backpackers and really central for the main party street and close to the beach. Free breakfast, wifi and refillable water are an added bonus. The communal area is pretty small but you can't have everything. Overall I would recommend this hostel.

Mui Ne Backpackers Resort

Mui Ne, Vietnam

Mui Ne is pretty quiet at this time of year but if you want a break then this is a good place to stay. The dorms are clean and well kept and the beds are really comfy. The pool is like a bath but the beach is at the back of the hostel. A mix of backpackers and russian holiday makers seem to stay here. I would recommend if you are staying in Mui Ne.

The staff here are incredibly helpful and have good information about trips and things to do. Its a little difficult to find, hidden behind the market stalls at the end of the main road. Its a 5 min walk to the main backpacker street but far enough away that its not noisy. Plenty of backpackers here and a good place to meet people. Rooms are clean and comfy enough.

Lemon Spirit Hostel

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

I stayed here twice when in Rio. The hostel is really clean and the staff are really friendly and full of information. The hostel is one block back from the beach at Ipanema and one block down from the main shopping street. Its a short bus ride to Copacabana or the metro station and so easy to get around. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

Milhouse Avenue

Buenos Aires, Argentina

I stayed here in August for 1 night and wish I had stayed longer. The hostel has a really good atmosphere and has a party every other night. Every day there is an activity put on if you don't want to think for yourself. The walking tours of the city were really good and the staff who join you are very knowledgable. The only down side is that the rooms are a bit dated and didn't feel particularly clean but all the same I would stay again. Great for meeting people.

Greg & Tom Hostel the 2nd

Krakow, Poland

We stayed in the 2nd hostel which is more like apartments. For 2/3 days we had the place to ourselves. Short walk to the top of the old town which was fine. Met a good group of ppl staying at the other hostels as all get together. Definitely a good hostel if you are a couple or don't like sharing dorms.

Silver Central Hostel

Split, Croatia

Modern clean hostel. Kitchen is basically none existent but the communal area is good for meeting ppl. Best night sleep I had in the beds here!

Banje Rooms

Dubrovnik, Croatia

The apartments were really central and had an amazing view. It was a bit chintz-y but who cares for the price in Dubrov it was well worth it.

Funky Donkey

Brac, Croatia

Its worth going to Supertar just for this hostel - loads of fun, really friendly staff and great for meeting other backpackers. Would definitely go back.

Its quite a small hostel but that makes it good for meeting ppl. Practically in the palace so very central. Staff were good fun and showed us where to go out. No kitchen tho.
