decent place to stay right in the centre of darwin. very expensive for basic rooms but all accomodation in darwin seems to be. $40 key deposit is excessive too. free laundry and the best breakfast ive seen in a hostel redeem it though! staff are decent and you can book trips through them at reception which is useful.

got transfered to the "sister" hostel the motor in for some reason, not fussed though we had a great stay. about 10 minutes to walk to town, great facilities and helpful staff when booking trips and days out etc. only irritating part was the pipes are really loud. loads of people are up at 5am for tours and its easy to be woken by the loud clanking pipes which can be annoying. overall a great place to stay!

Good place to stay, friendly staff, good location. Kitchen closes twice a day for cleaning which is a bit odd. The only real problem are the upstairs showers are really poor, not sure about the downstairs ones.

nice place to stay, cant get any more central that this! kitchen was great, bathrooms good too. rooms were nice if a little basic. only faults were the internet not being in the rooms, only in the common area and it kept dropping for a long time too. could also use a bit of work to renovate as its a little old. had a good stay though no major criticisms!

Thank you very much for the compliments. Yes, the WiFi has been temperamental for about 6 weeks now. The techs are just not helping us out. We are completely replacing the system now, but thats going to take a week or two more. Sorry that it affected you.

awful place to stay. drunk morons running around shouting and screaming at 3 in the morning. lots of people staying long term who think they own the place, plus the staff are all friends with them so they can be as idiotic as they like. a total of 4 pans in the kitchen to use while you try to avoid all the filth. no internet in rooms and a terrible connection when in the common areas. bathrooms were the only positive thing the showers are good. location is ok a short walk from st kilda shops.

very noisey place the walls are like paper. didnt bother trying to use the kitchen it was far too small for the hostel size and dirty too. stayed in a double room which was great, very clean with good facilities (fridge, microwave, tv etc). right next to the trams and only 5 minutes from st kilda shops.

absolutely disgusting place it is the filthiest hostel ive ever stayed in. the bathrooms are disgusting and the rooms arent much better. primarily an asian hostel and they dont seem to understand that toilt paper gets flushed away. "double rooms" are actually single bunk bed rooms. the kitchen would be ok but dont expect a space in the fridge or freezers as they are full because of the people that live in this place full time. the internet is terrible it is impossible to use during peak times.

probably the best hostel we have stayed in while weve been in australia. helpful and friendly staff, great rooms and facilities and only a short walk from the town centre.

great staff, great location and great rooms. not so great kitchen (a bit small for the size of the hostel), checkout time at 9 is a bit stingey and the internet allowance could be more generous. good hostel to stay in overall though!

best place to stay in town, this was our second stay here! rooms are great, the kitchen and bathrooms are nice and clean. washing and internet facilities are great. the staff are friendly and helpful. only downside this time was it was a little bit noisey because we were next to the kitchen, but nothing a pair of earplugs cant cure!

Great place to stay, only a short walk from the town centre. Hostel is a clean, friendly and safe place to stay. Only issue i had while staying is the rooms get a little hot at night, but apart from that it was excellent!

Not impressed with this place. Bathrooms wernt very clean, neither were the rooms. Kitchen was tiny, not big enough for the size of the property. "Room service" kept stealing our towels. Security is terrible, people also have private housing in the property and it seems like anyone and everyone is wandering in. no one on reception after 6, and no one to stop drunken morons shouting and banging in the corridors at night. only upside was the tram stop outside for an easy escape. avoid!!

this place is a joke. the owners can barely speak english and sent us to a cash machine on check in because they dont take credit card. the rooms have no fans and are full of old medical equipment. the bathrooms are filthy enough for a pig to live in with ants crawling all over. security is appaling, some tramp came into the place one night asking for change. the "kitchen" consists of a dirty waffle iron and a stinking fridge. only upside is the subway is a block away so you can escape quickly
