Hanoi Kangaroo Hostel

Hmm.. After reading lots of good reviews on internet (especially about one of its staff, Anna) we were really looking forward to stay in this hostel, but sadly, this was our worst experience in 6 months of travel through SE Asia. From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt unwelcomed and ripped off. The rooms are ok if you're lucky to get a clean one (we weren't- the sheets were dirty). Anna didn't seem to want to deal with us, unless it was about selling overcharged tours or bus tickets.

Tropical Breeze Guest house

Our room was spacious, clean with comfy beds, towels, tv, wifi. Good location-away from the noise of Pub Street and its surroundings, but close enough-10min walk to the city centre &night market. If you email the owner in advance he will arrange free pick up from the airport/bus which was brilliant, we bought tickets for our onward journey to Battambang from him and also had a free transfer to the bus stop. There wasn't much of atmosphere and our sink was broken but overall good. Would recommend

This hostel was awarded the certificate of excellence by Tripadvisor for a reason: it is simply an excellent place to stay. Very clean, secure, comfortable, extremely friendly and in perfect location. The owner Sam is the nicest guy you could possibly meet, and he's doing his job brilliantly. We booked 2 nights but extended our stay for another 7- come and you will understand why! Thank you for everything. Highly recommended.

Probably best choice to stay in KL: basic rooms but clean and safe, excellent location (short walk from Pudu bus station), very cool staff, kitchen facilities, free tea and coffee all day and free breakfast (toast, butter &jam). Oh, and cool common area with tv and a balcony with sofas. Would recommend & stay again.

Easy Life Bungalows

Koh Phangan, Thailand

We enjoyed our stay and liked our bungalow. Very simple but we had everything we needed. Beautiful beach very close, shop. Great value for money. The family who runs it is very nice and helpful, there is an unexpensive restaurant with really nice food and generous portions. Ask for a blanket to cover yourself at night. Loved the hammock on the porch! Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Overall really good place to stay.Staff very friendly, make you feel very welcome.Brilliant facilities.enjoyed pool, that was a big plus,as the beach in the area wasn't great (debris, also sea most of the time was too far out), it was great they can arrange a free scuba diving trial for you in the pool. 2 things didn't like: no receipt given when card payment failed.also, sign in the bedroom that informed you of a fine if (white) sheets or towels were stained. Annoyed as they were already stained.

Victor Guesthouse

We did not stay in Victor, we were moved to its sister guesthouse Pattana right behind it. Which didn't make us any difference, and also was nice because they gave us a free upgrade. Happy with the room, great location. Found it quite charming. Staff was very friendly.

Victor Guesthouse

Hua Hin, Thailand

We booked at Victor but were placed in its sister guesthouse Pattana right next to it, which wasn't a problem as it didn't make any difference. We also got a free upgrade to an ensuite room which was brilliant. The location is excellent, 2 min to the beach and the same to the centre of town. Be aware the walls are very thin - you can hear people next door. Would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Nice place, very pleasant and charming. The man who runs it is nice and helpful. Great location, not too long walks to all main attractions. There's a mini mart just round the corner. There is so much to see in Ayutthaya and around that we extended our stay for extra 3 nights in the end. Overall all really good, would definitely recommend.

Nice hostel. The location is great, right on the edge of the Old Town, close to the Temples, restaurants and local food stalls. It's about a 15 minute walk to The Night Bazaar. There was a slight problem with water in our room but the owner kindly let us change rooms- the place is really good and staff very nice, we ended up staying 3 extra nights. There's also good wifi and a very comfortable lounge area to surf internet, read a book or simply enjoy a drink (the bar is open until late).

It was a beautiful place to stay. Very relaxing. The staff were very lovely and attentive. Food was really nice and reasonably priced. Can't complain about anything . We chose the guest house because we wanted a few days to chill out, so can't comment on how good the location is in regards to the sight seeing. Not far from city centre . We paid B40 for taxi into town. Would defiantly recommend this place.

City Home Guest House

The place is very average, simple but quite spacious rooms. The air-con in our room wasn' t working so we were upgraded to a deluxe room. which meant we had a fridge. Nice to have a balcony but unfortunately the place was very dirty. Excellent location though, right next to the old bus station and night bazaar.

The owner, Joy, is a wonderful host. Truly goes the extra mile for all her guests. Location is not central, but it is not a problem as sky train is literally on doorstep. Even more, it is a big plus- it's good to stay in the residential area and see the locals and they everyday life. Would definitely recommend and will come back if again in Bangkok. Thank you Joy for everything, enjoyed our stay very much!

Hostel the Globe Center

Good place for short-time stay, poor character and cleanliness (as everything is quite old) especialy bathrooms, but staff ok and perfect city center location for good money value. I'd def stay there again for 1-2 nights, although no longer (only because of the showers).
