Han Jin Hostel, Gyeong-ju, South Korea
9.1
7th Nov 2016

A really nice hostel and Clint the owner let me upgrade for free to a bigger and better room before I even got the room I requested. Clint speaks very good English and knows all the nice places to visit in Gyeongju. Clint also let me use his computer and phone for free. I was only here for one day, but I managed to see a fair bit in that amount of time. The only bad thing was, I was the only person staying at the guesthouse so it was very quiet as was Gyeongju itself.

Had a private room, but bed was very small and narrow. Room was very small and cramped. Had to walk up another level to use the mens shared showers. Close to train station and nightlife, but I stayed in Itewaon last year and decided to spend the rest of my nights in Iteawon as the nightlife is better here than in Hongkik which is where this hostel is located. People seem to be more friendlier in Iteawon and closer to more places. Not as many good places to eat in Hongkik as Iteawon.

Excellent price and location, right across from the train and bus station and the easiest hostel I have found. Owner is very nice. The only two things were that the beds are hard and noisy, and that the rooms are very cramped and not much space. Other than that, it was good for a one night stay.

I stayed here in December last year and absolutley loved it!! So I came back this year in November to stay again and the service is just as good as it was last year. You get your own curtain in your bunk beds which gives you a lot of privacy. And you can charge your phone, ipod, camera etc in your bed. Beds are large and spacious and very comfortable. Showers are nice and hot with soap and shampoo provided, another great bonus! Close to train station and subway and easy to get to various places.

Afei Surf Hostel, Kenting, Taiwan
10.0
4th Jul 2016

Loved this place. Afei was great and he let me use his laptop computer as I don't have my own iphone at the moment to check my emails, facebook, etc. Diving was spectacular and was on par with Thailand and Philippines diving. Cost for one dive and underwater photos is 1800 Taiwan Dollars. (About $75 Australian currency) The night markets are also really great fun and they have a nice bar there called Golden Beach which is good for drinks and entertainment.

Very close to the night markets and train station and plenty of shops nearby too. Taipei is a great place and I love the nightlife here, though it is not as cheap as some other places I have visited in Asia, the people are all mostly very friendly. The rooms were nice and we had our own curtain and a place to put all our stuff. The rooms could be a bit more spacious though. Breakfast was also quite nice.

I loved this hostel!! It is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Excellent facilities, lots of info available for day trips outside of Tokyo and nice comfortable beds with your own privacy and plenty of space. If I come to Tokyo again, I will definately stay here again. Japan is such a beautiful country.

A great place to stay for a night or more. Very sociable atmosphere, they do stuff like pub crawls and walking tours like in Europe. I only stayed here for one night, but if I come back to KL again in future, this place will be the place to come visit again if the reviews are still excellent as they currently are. Only 5 or 10 minutes walk to the LRT.

Although I only stayed here for one night, this was an excellent hostel to stay in and it was right near everything. It was fantastic to be back in Dublin, after visiting here last year. Ireland is a fantastic country and the people are all very friendly and easygoing. They also do a free walking tour here and they are always fantastic fun and very popular amongst the mostly younger people.

Very nice and quiet hostel and away from the noise of the main square where all the nightlife is. As mentioned in previous comments, this does have more of a hotel feel to it, but I spoke to a few people here nonetheless. The staff that work here are very friendly and helpful and I had some good conversations with them during my stay here. It is only a 10 or 15 minute walk to the other side where all the nightlife is. If I come back to Prague one day, this is the place I would stay at.

A great place for a quick layover before moving on the next day for my train journey. It was right next to the train station and very easy to find. A very quiet hostel and the people seem to keep to themselves and not really socialise. But I was only here one night and that was enough time for me.

Great staff here who were very friendly and helpful. They do free walking tours everyday and they also have different events on each night. This hostel was more sociable than the other one around the corner. They even let me change my room for no extra charge so that I could be on the 2nd floor, as I was originally on the 4th floor and didn't like being on the top bunk on the first night I stayed. The only thing was that my room didn't have hot water, so I used the showers downstairs.

An excellent place to stay and I met some great people at this hostel. Very good directions and this was the easiest hostel I have found once I arrived at the bus station. It is only one stop away and 20 metres walk from the bus stop. Prague is a really amazing place and was well worth the visit for 2 or 3 days. Very easy to explore on foot.

Very quiet location right near the beach and other attractions. The lady who runs this hostel was very keen on my teddy, Penguin, who she pronounced "Penguel". A tip for people who do the day trip to Hikkaduwa, Bentota or Galle: When you are coming back by train, make sure you get off at Mount Lavina and not the Fort station. It is much quicker and it is only a 10 rupee bus ride to Dehiwala from Mt Lavina.

An excellent place to stay. Jason was very helpful with all my enquires and so was another person there called Charlie. As a solo travelIer, I was also included with the others which I really liked. Only stayed here for two nights instead of the four that I planned origianlly, but that was only because I had such a short time in India on this occasion and there is so much more to see of this beautiful country. If I come back to Goa again one day, this is the type of place I would stay at again.
