The room was comfortable and clean as was the kitchen area but there is a strong smell of cat wee in communal areas including the bathroom. The menagerie of animals for us were good entertainment (although they could do with a bath) but some may not like it. The owners were always helpful and kind and left you to it. Breakfast was one of the best we have had! The walk was not a hassle as in San Pedro nothing is far!
We had New Year here and it was a fantastic choice! Great staff, great location, good communal areas and a real home from home!
Periko's is a good all rounder. Beautiful double room with one of the best bathrooms we have seen. Staff were a little prickly at times and the welcome could have been better. Communal areas not ideal for getting people talking but we had a pleasant stay overall.
Our biggest disappointment was the very unwelcoming check-in where we felt like a nuisance and an inconvenience rather than a guest. They did not give us our change and we had to check out without getting it (they were no where to be seen). They were unsympathetic to an injury that had impacted on our ability to stay on our first night we had booked. The rooms are well kept, clean and pretty but a little small and the mattress we had was tired and uncomfortable.
An absolute gem of a hostel. El Boslon is beautiful but Casona made it the unforgettable experience we had there. We had Christmas here and we could not have hoped for a better venue. The gardens are zen like, the communal areas are inviting and the atmosphere created by the wonderful staff is the best we have experienced. Can not thank you all at Casona enough for such a fabulous week.
Sebastian makes you feel at home. The beds are comfortable and the whole place spotless. On rainy El Chalten days there are endless DVD's and a chatty warm atmosphere.
This is a large hostel and therefore lack a homely personal feel. Due to its excellent restaurant that is open to all there are plenty of people milling about which is great for people watching but not great for making new buddies. The baggage store is open to all and sundry. The beds are comfortable and everywhere is clean. Definitely come here if you are HUNGRY!
Our room was in reception which is also the only communal area so we were kept awake until 2 am. Reception opens early so we were woken to the sound of the enthusiastic staff. All staff were really helpful and genuine. The breakfast was ok but the kitchen small.
Hi Patagonia is a fabulous place to stay. Lucas and Gaston make you feel so welcome, the rooms are large and clean and very comfortable. It is clear a lot of thought has gone into the layout and facilities. There is a large kitchen and communal area where it is easy to make new friends. The garden has a small bar which is a place to chill out in the sun with others. Overall it is faultless and we can not recommend it highly enough!
A great communal area with a mini pool and many tables makes it easy to relax and recover as well as meet new people. The kitchens are well stocked, you can catch up on laundry and the wifi is reliable. The rooms are ok; all clean. The free daily glass of wine is a nice touch.
This was a disappointment. We cut our stay short as the we found the place very dirty, dark, scruffy and depressing. The rooms were very hot and tiny. The bathroom looked like it has not been cleaned in a while and our feet were black after walking on the floor in the room. Cutlery was dirty and the kitchen looked uncared for. The only plus point was the fabulous manager and reception staff.
