Typical party Hostel atmosphere, staff is friendly but didn't seem quite prepared for guests that aren't interested in a pub crawl (they would send us to the Hard Rock Café when we asked for an alternative pub). The surrounding area is not really exciting for travellers, couldn't even get breakfast somewhere, but public transport to the city center is really convenient and easy. Definitely worth the price and recommendable.
On the plus side is the really helpful and friendly staff, three common rooms and the breakfast, which is included in the price. The kitchen is clean and big, they even got an oven, which has never been used before we came, as they told us. Sadly not all of their described features are already useable, such as he balcony for smokers. Overall recommendable.
When we wanted to check in the guy at the reception was just not able to handle it. Overwhelmed by his duties he switched back and forth from one guest to the other, really annoying. Also not very helpful if you had questions about anything. Facilities were really clean and in good shape though, but not a very hearty atmosphere there. Location is perfect for going out in Budapest.
Really small hostel with a nice big garden in which you can enjoy cheap beer from the hostel pub with the a-bit-grumpy-on-first-sight but very welcoming hostel staff. Strangely, there were way more male travellers staying then girls for some reason. There are no kitchen facilities and the pub only offers some sandwiches we didn't try. We'd recommend it, especially if you're into listening to classic rock/blues kind of music :)
As this hostel is quite small and looks more like a living home rather than a hostel, the atmosphere is really nice and relaxed to meet other travellers. Staff was especially great, very laid-back, hanging out with us travelleres even before or after their shifts, which made our stay at Sun Hostel a very unique and great experience. Also, we really enjoyed the company of the Austrian-Serbian guy a little bit on the heavy side ;)
As the name says, this hostel is rather a student accomodation, so if you book for a six bed dorm you'll get a double room, but six people will be sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities, which was really convenient. Staff was very, very friendly and helpful, I'd definitely recommend this hostel, especially if you're looking for a cheap double private room.
This is not really a hostel but a hotel that offers cheap dorms on the top levels, so there are no kitchen facilities or common rooms to expect. However, there is free wifi and computers available. Value for Money was okay, location good, but if you're looking for a hostel to meet other travelers this isn't the right place.
Very charming hostel! has its own pub with good prices. A bit out of the center, but within max 20min by tube your everywhere you want to be in the inner city!Numerous supermarkets and cheap fast food restaurants within spitting distance. Room, showers and rooms aren't brand new but clean (showers get renewed at the moment). The only thing I didn't like was the fact that internet wasn't free. Highly recommend!
