It's a great place in terms of how the hostel is organized. Cozy common areas, private parking, fully equiped kitchen, even a pool table. Atmosphere is good. However, my bed was awful: it creaked and squeaked loudly every time I turned. Moreover, the door to the bathroom was so loud that everybody in the room were woken up every time someone opened it. These two things need to get fixed ASAP (both in room #1).

HK is one of these hostels where it feels like home. It has only 12 beds or so, which makes it easy to socialize and to make new friends. Alejandro and Brent are great hosts (can't call them just staff, they are hosts!), superfriendly and helpful, they kbnow a lot about Austin and can give you priceless tips on where to go. The place is clean and has everything you may need. I enjoyed my stay, so did all of the people I met there. Will definitely stay there if I come back to Austin someday.
The owner of the place is a great guy: very welcoming, nice, helpful and interesting to talk to. But that's the only highlight of the hostel. Other staff don't speak any English, wanted to charge me more than amount stated in booking confirmation at checkin. Security is poor, they don't give you any keys, front door is open most day, the dorm door doesn't have any lock and is right by the front door. Troubles with hot water (not available 24/7, you need to ask the staff to switch on the boiler).
Centrally located hostel with a relaxed feeling. Staff is nice and helpful, but the atmosphere is not really lively. Not much is going on. Facilities are decent. There's a great rooftop terrace, but it could be more comfortable. Beds are okay. Generally it's a place with a great potential, but still a lot is to be done. However, I'd rather recommend it than not.
This is a good place with nice and helpful staff and decent facilities. There's common space to hang out, kitchen has all you need. Pool was not in best shape, so noone used it. Everything is within walking distance, but don't expect it to be just around the corner. Generally good.
Perfectly located close to the sea and all transport, this place is a ideal if you want to make day trips to distant beaches. Staff is friendly and very helpful, they really know a lot about PV and around! There's a great terrace to hang out, but it is mostly empty, so don't expect a special atmosphere here. On the downside, showers and are absolutely uncomfortable (no space to hang your clothes and towel), so are the beds (easy to fall down from the top bunk, no barriers). Overall a good place
Location is perfect for making day trips in Bavaria and further, excelent transport links nearby. Beds are comfortable, personal power outlets and lights are very useful. The only con was the shower: hot water was available only with very low pressure. High pressure was making the water cold.
Great location, nice staff, good atmosphere. WiFi is fast. The only con is very loud noise from the trams outside. If you're a light sleeper, this place is probably not for you.
This hostel is located NOT in the center of Gdansk, but in a quiet peaceful neighbourhood, 15 minutes away from the center by bus. However, I found this place exceptional! The staff/owners are amazing, they're doing great job! The hostel is well equipped with anything you may need. It's clean, cozy and relaxed. Not a party place, but great atmosphere, I felt like at home! I can definitely recommend it and will stay here again if come back to Gdansk one day.
Great location in the heart of the Old Town, pretty walkable to everything in La Candelaria. Staff is friendly, wifi is good, common areas are spacious. On the downside, there are HUGE troubles with hot water (no chance to have a hot shower in the morning). Don't have a breakfast here (8K COP), better go outside and have a better deal in one of the cafes. Generally a decent place to stay.
Colombia is NOT a beach destination, so you might be disappointed by quality of the beach and the sea. But here it is way better than in Santa Marta, Taganga or Cartagena. Anyway, it is a good place to chill. Nothing is going on here, so if you need a day or two of solitude at the beach - this is your choice. All the facilities are pretty basic and need renovation, but it adds to the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Bar is just okay, the music they play is awful.
Pros: great staff that make you feel at home! Fantastic atmosphere, so easy to meet people. Quiet neighbourhood, big supermarket nearby. Cons: away from the main sites and party area, no aircon in the room.
Pros: good location, great kitchen area, superfast wifi. Cons: REALLY TINY toilet, uncomfortable beds, the whole place needs some renovation to provide a feeling of comfort. Don't expect special atmoshpere here: it's pretty quiet in here and the place is much more sleeping-oriented than a place to socialize. Finland is not a cheap country, but I wish I spent my 30 euros on a bed in a better place. However, it's OK to stay here for a night.
Stayed in a private room. It was pretty small and basic, but the toilet/shower was really good: pretty clean and spacious. Wifi worked well in the room. Location is fine: just outside the Old Town. Generally an okay place to stay for a night or two.
It's a chain hotel/hostel which provides good value for money. All the facilities are top class! The only con is location: though it's really convenient to get to/from the airport, there's absolutely nothing of any interest in this area. Not even a supermarket around. Since it's a chain hotel-like hostel, don't expect any special backpacker's atmosphere here. However, it's a good place to stay.
Decent hotel-like hostel close to the metro, but a bit ouside of the center. Wifi is good, showers are clean. Pretty quiet at night. Generally good.
Much better than its Argentinian sister hostel. The staff does excellent job, making the guests feel at home. Seriously, the staff is outstanding here. Facilities are OK: enough showers/toilets not to queue, acceptable wifi signal strength, plenty of power outlets. Cons include the smoking ban in the open bar area (you have to go down to the entrance), a strict ban on drinks from the outside (even beer!), no aircon RC in the room (you have to go down to reception to get it, which is inconvenient
A small hostel not far from the bus station. They have an overpriced bar (with no permanent barman – the girl from reception was trying to be both at the bar and at check-in table) and strictly ban all drinks from the outside, even beer. No vibe, pretty quiet, but facilities are rather decent. An OK place for 1 night, but not more than that.
Located in the middle of nowhere, this place is for chilling. Staff is nice, facilities are good. The bar has food and drinks at fair prices. However, can't say this place is cozy. There are LOTS of flies pretty much everywhere. The pool is dirty. Generaly good if you got tired and want to chill for couple of days outside of big cities.
Small cozy family-run place. The owners are super nice and friendly! Tour are available at fair prices. The hostel has everything you might need. However, there's no vibe at all. Pretty quiet.
It's not just a party place. It's a place for party animals! Full of Aussies and Americans. Noise 24/7. Hell drunk bodies all around. Basically hostel in a bar and not vice versa. Bar staff is nice, some of reception staff is kind of indifferent. The place is on a steep hill, so be prepared to climb every time you go out. There are not so much public space outside the bar. Not my cup of tea.
Family-run hotel, well located and cozy. The owners are really nice! They can answer all your questions on Puno and surroundings, arrange tours with no markup, arrange laundry, taxi etc. No special atmosphere since it's more a hotel than a hostel. Anyway, I enjoyed my stay and can definitely recommend this place.
Decent cozy hostel with a home-like feeling. Pretty quiet, nothing is going on, good place to chill. Staff is great! Cheers guys, you're cool!
Located in the middle of the bars district, but still close to metro and other transport. Staff is awesome! Facilities are great, too. But don't expect much fun here, there's no special atmosphere. Breakfast is good, wifi is fast. Generally good.
Central location, super nice and attentive staff. My room was pretty spacious and cozy. There's a great terrace on the rooftop. However, no special atmosphere. This place is pretty quiet. Anyway, I can definitely recommend it.
Perfect location by the train station. Staff tries to be very helpful, even those who can't speak any English. Security is pretty average, no special atmosphere there. Generally good, but not more than for 1 night.
Despite having booked several weeks in advance, on my arrival I was moved to a sister hostel named Barbados located in the same building. This place wasn't comfortable at all. Staff has different attitude to their job: ladies who checked me in were nice and helpful, guys were somewhat rude. The door to the toilet/shower in my room had no lock. Kithen (= common area) is tiny and I was sent away with my beer because they say beer is banned inside (in a hostel!!). Will never come back.
A huge nicely decorated hostel. Location is OK: can't get there on foot, but still close to a vaporetto stop. Facilities are good, every bed has a private lamp and a power outlet, which is really important. Wifi in my room hardly worked, but it was good in the lobby. The bar is (comparetively) cheap. However, there's no backpackers' vibe, no activities, no fun. It's a decent place to stay for a couple of nights, but don't expect too much buzz.
Definitely a party hostel. Small cozy place for party lovers. Activities every night! Staff members try to make you feel at home. Warning: the hostel is on the 5th floor and there's no elevator! Generally very good. Can definitely recommend this place.
One of the best hostel in terms of facilities I've ever stayed in! Fantastic beds, awesome lockers, nice kitchen and helpful staff. Location is good: less than 30 minutes of relaxed walking to the train station, 15 to the shopping area and 3 to the supermarket. Belgian Quarter is a nice neighborhood! Drawbacks include lack of activities in the hostel, no common space besides the kitchen, the bar - it's not the best place to have some beers. Anyway, this hostel is great! Recommended!
Nice place with friendly atmosphere. All the staff members do their best to make people feel at home. Can't say I felt really comfortable in my bed because it was literally a matress on the floor. Can't say security is perfect. But all the rest was pretty awesome! What makes a hostel a great place to stay? Atmosphere. This place definitely has it. Great place to meet people! Can definitely recommend it and would love to come back one day.
A decent hostel not far from the old town. Rather relaxed atmosphere rather than party. All the staff members are really nice and helpful. On the other hand, it was REALLY humid inside the room. It's prohibited to bring in your own drinks because they have a small bar inside. No maps, poor lockers. Overall rather good than average.
A nice place to stay in Lille. Both train stations are ~20 mins walking. There's a bar on the ground floor, and it seems like it's packed more with locals than travelers. Beds are really comfy, with a curtain, personal power outlets and a lamp. On the backside, my room had nothing more than 4 beds and a sink - no table, chairs, wardrobe etc, despite it was spacious enough. Anyway, it was a good experience. Can recommend this place.
Perfect location and amazing staff make this place awesome. Great showers and comfy beds are also a pro. On the backside there's a weird rule that you can't bring beers inside. In Belgium!! They do have a bar, but prices and choice are not what a beer lover would want to have. Generally recommended!
Great location and lively bar are the main pros. On the other hand, there were just 2 power outlets in a 8 bed dorm (both of them by the sink), I couldn't rent a towel because none of them were available. Use a BIG padlock, otherwise your locker won't lock.
Great (but not really cheap) option to stay in Milan. Staff is oustanding, beds are comfy, facilities are good. Gets VERY crowded on weekends. The only drawback is the underbed lockers which are hardly possible to lock with a small (common) padlock. Very good, anyway. Can definitely recommend it.
Fairly good place located right on the Hollywood Boulevard (which is not a big pro). Great facilities, organized activities, friendly atmosphere. Generally good.
Despite having good facilities, this place is too chilled to be called a backpackers hostel. No beers allowed. Lights off after 10pm. HI hostels are almost all like this. Poor atmosphere, poor location, good staff and good facilities - that's what this place is about. Will not come back.
Despite being the only hostel option in Ensenada, this place is really good. It's not far from the main street and the sea, facilities are great and the staff is really helpful. Recommended! Than you Lino and others! Cheers!
Hardly any hostel can get 100% from me, but this one definitely deserves it! This is an amazing place where you feel like part of the family. The staff is awesome, everyday activities are fun, free breakfasts and dinners (!!) are yummy! This place has all the necessary facilities and there's literally nothing to improve. Will miss Adventure Hostel and all the team! High five guys, you're awesome!
A place to have fun and enjoy this crazy town! Location leaves much to be desired, facilities are good, it's clean and seems to be secure. However, some of the staff are rookies and that's why lots of things are kinda disorganized, especially out-of-hostel activities. Overall good, but not excellent.
This place has something you never expect in a chain hostel - the homy feeling. The staff has a good attitude to their job. Othe pros include spacious well-equiped kitchen and some activities organized by the hostel. However, still a lot to improve: wifi signal, add lockers etc. Anyway, I can definitely recommend this hostel.
Centrally located hostel with all the necessary facilities. However, they seem to accept bookings from large groups, so don't expect much socializing, partying or backpacker spirit here. Staff's friendly and nice, beds are cozy, breakfast is basic. In general, I'd recommend this place. Areas for improvement include pillows ('spanish' pillows leave much to be desired), wifi signal strength and lockers (very few and small).
Big hotel-like hostel with its pros and cons. Fantastic beds and good showers on one hand, but no hostel atmosphere on the other. WiFi is available only in bar/lounge, which closes down an midnight. Breakfast ends at 9am which is far too early. Location is good, lounge is comfy, bar is useless. Overall good for a quiet sleep, but not good enough for the real backpacker experience. However, I would recommend it anyway.
A good place to stay in Manchester. Perfect location, free basic breakfast and cleanliness are big pros. Cons include noisy environment outside (bring earplugs on weekends!), no wifi availability in rooms and in the terrace, lack of common space and small lockers located outside the rooms. Anyway, I had a nice stay and can recommend this place.
Brand new hostel in the center of Brest with supercozy beds. Friendly staff, clean bathroom. However, still a lot to be done: common room, maps, stable wifi signal in rooms etc. Anyway, you guys are on the right way. Recommended.
I was given a bed in a private house some 100 meters from the hostel. The good thing was there were only 3 beds despite I booked a 8-bed dorm. The backside was that there was no wifi (but it was possible to go to the hostel's patio and use it there) and totally no hostel atmosphere (people, common areas etc). Facilities are good, the owner is really nice and helpful. Good for 1 night, but not more than that.
Great place to socialize! The two terraces gather lots of people in search of partaners for goint out or just some beers. They are open 24/7, which makes the hostel a perfect melting pot. Facilities are good, each bed has a pesonal lamp and a power outlet. WiFi works throughout the whole place. Definitely recommended!
This hostel is a reflection of the whole of China: clean facilities, but holes in your linen; cozy café/bar, but overpriced; helpful staff, but no common area. However, generally I liked the place and I can definitely recommend it!
Fairly good hostel not far from major attractions and train/metro stations. The staff is really helpful, the hostel itself is really clean and secure. The cons include no wifi signal in the room and no activities organised by the hostel. Overall I can definitely recommend this place.
Didn't expect much from an Italian hostel, but this one turned out to be really awesome! Ideal proportion of privacy and fun, clean, cosy and friendly environment! The staff is amazing! Carry on being awesome! Cheers!
A hotel-like huge hostel. It's pretty clean and located right in the center of the city. The main drawback is that the room windows face the patio which is really noise starting from 8-9 am. Bring your earplugs! Bar at the rooftop terrace coses at 10pm o_O

This hostel is located really close to the lake and just 50 meters from the main street. It's really clean and secure, hot water is available (which is a rare thing in Guatemala). There was some mess with my booking, but finally I got a bed in a nice 3 bed room for the price of a bed in a bigger dorm. Unfortunately the kitchen wasn't available during the NYE time and there was no common space. However, this place is nice and I can recomment it.
Really good location, cozy beds and clean bathrooms. However, there´s completely no vibe! WiFi works from time to time. The staff tries to be really friendly, Has a typical hotel atmosphere, not a hostel one. The kitchen could have been more equipped and clean.
Great place to stay in Xela! It´s clean, has a bar/cafe, amazing breakfast in included. The staff is really nice, but it would be great if some of them improve their English! :) Don´t buy tours and transfers from them, they are way too overpriced! Get what you need in any tour agency in the street. Generally this place is highly recommended!
Great place to socialize! It's clean and not that far from the main street. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only drawback is a weird rule to turn the lights off and put all the stuff away from the patio at 22.00. That's way too early.
A hotel with dorm room(s) in the very center of Puebla. Location is unbeatable, staff´s helpful, but there´s completely no vibe as it is basically a hotel, not a hostel. My bed was cozy, there are lockers in the room. Showers and bathroom could be much cleaner though. Generally a good place to stay for not more than 1 night.
Fairly good place just several blocks from Zocalo. The staff is friendly and rather helpful. It´s a pity there were no lockers in my room. All the sounds of the common area can be easily herd from the room, so bring your earplugs if you want to get down to sleep before midnight, but it´s not a party place anyway. Generally recommended.
Pretty worn-out place, but it really has the vibe! $15 beer in the bar and the crowd make the hostel a party one. The staff is really helpful, but sort of relaxed though. Be ready to take a cab in order to get anywhere from here. Generally can definitely recommend it.
I stayed there for the second time. The hostel is close to several train stations, it's clean and secure, but there's no vibe. Generally good.
Located just 15 minutes from Manhattan by subway, this is a generally nice place to stay. Great common room in the basement, nice kitchen. However, there's no vibe, the staff tries to be nice, but most of them are neither pro-active, nor knowledgable. The hostel is clean and nice-looking, but if you need the real backpackers spirit, try something different.
I stayed just for 1 night there, so not much to say. Location is good, the bed was pretty comfy, the guy who checked me in at night wasn't friendly, perhaps 'cause I woke him up. There's a 24/7 supermarket next door which is very useful.
Fairly good hostel, but too big to feel the real beckpackers' spirit. The staff's helpful. Local eateries available nearby as well as a night shop withsome cheap beer, the hostel's bar is a bit pricey. Location is pretty average, but the neighbourhood is nice and calm.
Fairly good small hostel. Can't say I could feel the backpackers vibe, but the place has everything you really need. Don't expect hard partying here, they have some weird rules: no drinks in the common room, no hard liquor in the whole hostel.
Nice hostel with friendly staff. Located in the heart of the Old Town and rather close to the train station. The rooms are spacious, there's a large common room and a decent kitchen. No wi-fi in dorms. But I couldn't feel the real backpackers' spirit there.
Fairly good hostel with very nice staff. Located a bit far from the Old Town, but rather close to the train station. Great big lockers, the rooms are spacious and well decorated, but the beds are squeaky. No wi-fi signal in the room. No general common room = no special backpackers' vibe. However, was great to stay for one night.
Fantastic hostel! Located in the heart of the Old Town, this is a great place to enjoy Riga. It's very clean, the rooms are spacious, the beds are cozy, many showers and toilets. Two great common rooms to socialize, kitchen and a small bar make meeting people so easy! Amazingly friendly and helpfull staff who organize daily activities made me feel at home. Very important thing is that the rooms are isolated from the common areas and you will not be disturbed even if you go down to sleep early.
Nice small place close to the airport bus stop and metro stations. Clean, secure, staff is friendly. Daily activities at night. Can recommend it!

It was my second stay in The Garden and it was excellent again! Friendly, clean, spacious but cozy, great place to socialize. Don´t miss the great tours with Pancho Tours (I especially recommend the Tapas Tour!). Amazing place.
Big hotel-like hostel, but a good one. Great alternative site around! However, few cons: not enough plugs both in rooms and common area. No wi-fi in rooms. Very small room (a 5-bed dorm). Bar is a bit overpriced for a hostel. Still, it's a cool place and I can recommend it.
Not a hostel, but a room for rent. Good location. Nothing more. Would not stay again.
Yet another hotel-like commercialized big hostel. But this one has some really great things like free sauna and swimming pool, the roof-top terrace is also great. Don't expect much fun in low season here. Wireless doesn't always work in rooms. Staff is friendly. Anyway, I'd call this place a hotel with dorms, not a hostel.
Fairly good small family-run hostel. Location is perfect! Very clean and secure. Don't expect partying here. Great place to relax.
This is a really special place! Located in the heart of the city, it has easy access to whatever you need. Staff is great! Rooftop terrace and the garden make this place amaging. Spacious common areas, a bar - what else you need to socialize? Fantastic hostel in a fantastic city. By far the best I stayed in while in Spain! Muchos gracias!
Generally a good new hostel. Location is great, but guys, you should rewrite the directions in a proper way! What you offer is really hard to follow. Great rooms, cool kitchen and terrace, but... no vibe. Pub crawl is closed because of low season. Staff is freindly, but not pro-active. Internet signal is weak in the room. So lots of things to improve, but again, generally it's a good place and I have positive memories. Thanks guys!
Great place to relax! Small cozy hostel where you feel like at home. Great location, very quiet and clean. Fully equipped spacious kitchen. Don't expect to have fun here though. I really enjoyed Tarifa and Melting Pot! Cons: 2 showers and 2 WCs for the whole hostel.
Great place to socialize! Nice patio, good bar with XL cocktails, tasty food in the evening. The staff is friendly. Cons: noise from the two streets, creepy beds. But if you go to the pub crawl, you usually don't care! :)
Small cosy hostel in a friendly town! I stayed only for one night, but I really liked it. Can really recommend it! Thank you, Vladimir!
Really good hostel close to the city center. Helpful staff and cozy beds. The free pick-up service is very useful! The only con was that one night there was no water (but it was at 4am though).
Awsome place to stay in a beautiful town of Mostar. Clean, secure and cozy. The hostel is small and it makes you feel a part of a family. Miran and his family are very enthusiastic to help! Great experience! Perfect place to communicate with other people. Can definitely recommend!
The hostel has unbeatable location by the metro station and close to Kreschatik street. Very friendly and helpful staff makes your stay very pleasant! This is a small hostel which makes it easy to meet fellow travelers. Aircon and equipped kitchen are very useful. Can really recommend this hostel. Greets from Moscow!
This hostel really has the character!! I loved the wooden interior! Good location close to bars/clubs/metro, clean, nice staff, big kitchen. Can really recommend it!
Hostel Lao definitely has its character!! It's a small one, and it makes the place so cosy! Nice hostel to meet people or relax. Not a party place, but I definitely needed a place like this. Thanks and greets go to Romina and other staff!
Fairly good hostel. VERY comfortable beds (so rare in South America!), cheap drinks, a small patio. It's good you can bring in your own drinks. Kitchen is tiny, but it's better than nothing. Staff is friendly, though not pro-active. And I really loved the neighbourhood! If you brush up the service and get the hostel cleaner, you'll be one of the best, guys! Thank you!
Good location, very friendly staff. Good choice to explore the both sides of Iguazu!
Despite some cons like not so clean bathrooms and not 100% knoledgable staff, this place is highly recommended. Rooftop terrace is amazing! BBQ party was awsome. This is a truly backbackers' place. BTW, staff is really good, dont take the first sentance of a review seriously! ;)
If you're looking for a real backpackers' hostel, look for another place to stay. This one is just yet another big hotel with dorms. However, it's very clean and has all necessary services. Location is good (but not perfect). Staff is helpful, but sometimes reception is overcrowded and the staff just can't help everyone prompty. Security is good, but in my 8-bed dorm there were only 2 lockers! The place was packed with locals, but no problem with that. Generally this hostel is OK to stay.
Nice place to stay and to meet people. Very clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Good showers. Can really recommend it!
I've never stayed in a hostel better than this! Perfectly located in the heart of the Old Riga, superclean, has cozy beds and 2 lively common rooms, all the facilities you can ever imagine. It's a perfect place to meet people as well! What is most important, they have the best staff in the world of hostels!! Cheers! I'll be back! ;)
Good location, freindly staff, clean and cozy. Bar downstairs helps to meet people. The hostel is in my Top-3 out of more than 20 hostels I've stayed it! Thank you!
I return to Naughty Squirrel's again and again. That's all because the amazing staff and comfort of the hostel! It's a perfect place to meet people and - trust me - this is realy one of the best (if not the best) hostels out of couple of dozens I've visited in Europe! Thanks, guys! I hope one day I'll ring your doorbell again!
That's the one of really OUTSTANDING hostels I've ever visited. Interiors are like designer styled! Home-made dinners make you feel in good hands in this amazing city! Security is 100% proof, the staff is 101% helpful. Don't be sure you have the real party here, but you'll be welcomed greatly in fantastic facilities. Ensured by Fatima Carioca! ;)
Fairly good hostel, greatly located, clean and secure. However, VERY small showers and non very cozy beds.
Perfect place both to have fun & just simply enjoy beautiful Riga. Unbeatable location in the Old Town, very clean and secure, cozy beds and wonderful staff. I stayed for the second time and will come back again! Thanks!
The Naughty Squirrel definitely deserves 100 points!! Extremely clean, good number of showers. Cozy beds and big lockers, very secure. Location is perfect. But their main advantage is the staff! Thanks to Jarred, Robert, Karina, Solveiga, Ieva and other guys staying in a hostel becomes staying at good friends'! Besides that, the atmosphere is perfect for meeting fellow travellers. Hope to come back one day! Thanks a lot! P.S. I loved the ambiguous name of the hostel! ;)
I can definitely recommend HostelGate to fellow travellers. The location is superb! Cozy beds, room with a balcony, spacious kitchen & common room. Clean showers and toilets (however packed in peak hours in the morning :) ). Hostel's staff is friendly and helpful! Really good place to stay.
Sant Jordi Arago is perfect!! It's not so big so you feel at home every minute of your stay. The staff helps you enjoy Barcelona by all means! Thanks Rafa, Pablo, Alejandra and Linda, and see you all in a couple of days! :)
