A nice enough hostel but very quiet and staff aren't overly engaging when they're around. Very strong smell of air freshener which made me wonder what it was covering up. Nice big rooms and hot showers although they don't drain very well and probably need their pipes clearing. Located on bar street but not too close so it's not so loud. OK for a short stay but seriously lacks soul.
Really nice rooms - big and with comfy beds. Pick-up from airport and drop-off to our next destination (camping). Breakfast was simple but nice - even had tablecloths! Wifi was very slow and patchy even when sat right by the router.Overall would recommend.
It's an OK hostel but not worth the price. Despite begging staff for the first free room (we'd spent all night at the airport waiting for the bus) there was apparently no way we could check in until after 2pm (=6 more hours waiting to check-in). Our room was small but OK, bathroom had lots of obvious hair in the sink. The next morning we were told to move rooms but they weren't sure where to ("wait in room 1hr"). Eventually they gave me key to an already occupied room - a bit of a farce really.
Really lovely hostel - immaculately clean, huge rooms, lots of local information readily available and generally beautiful in every way. Really can't understand why more people weren't staying there - it's only a 10 min walk to the center of town and it felt more like a 3/4 star hotel (albeit with share bathroom) rather than a hostel. Owner also gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation that we'd have never have found left to our own devices. Thank you!
Loved it! Wish I could stay forever. Lack of WiFi was annoying at first but just served to illustrate how worryingly dependant on the internet we are today. Lots of cool activities to do - back-strap weaving was phenomenal and the silk/circus acrobatics was a lot of fun. Thank you!
Loved it here! Neill and his wife were so welcoming & their property is stunning - amazing grounds and stunning views of Flores island itself. Breakfast is even served until noon and if you're taking an early Tikal trip they even provide sandwiches instead! I was a tad worried about the need to take a boat each time I wanted to go onto Flores island but it was easy, quick & cheap - no problem! It's also walking distance to a beautiful beach and look-out which not many people seem to know about.
Nice enough hostel & owners are friendly but it's disorganized and with some minor changes could be a lot better (empty the toilet paper bin daily, make sure rooms are cleared and clean before giving them to new people (my bed had earrings on it and the floor was covered in thick dust)), bin the bike locks that don't work and write down the codes for the ones that do etc) it could be great. Breakfast is really good though and free bike rental is appreciated given its out of town location.
I've had some good breakfasts in Mexico but this topped them all by far! I'd stay there for the breakfast alone - I'd go to be eager to get up to eat it! Room was small-ish but very clean, bathrooms where excellent although lacking hot water one day. Staff gave us loads of fruit on the way out which was a welcome surprise. Would definitely recommend this place. The excellent location is a bonus rather than the selling point (and how often do you hear that??)
Such a lovely family home! We booked for 3 days but stayed for 10 on account of us both getting a stomach bug. This was the perfect place to recover - quiet, relaxing, kind staff. Would definitely recommend this place especially for people who need a short break from more traditionally social and larger hostels/dorms. Only recommendation would be to fix the lock on the bathroom door as not all guests use the sign to indicate that they're in there.
Really lovely hostel with a good mix of people (some gap year backpackers, some maturer couples and everything in between). Lovely relaxed communal areas! Staff were helpful and breakfast was great. A couple of small recommendations though...almost every morning there seemed to be people arriving around 7am and would ring the doorbell until staff let them in when reception opened at 8 - maybe open reception earlier? Also everyone was queued for breakfast at 8.30 - maybe start it earlier too?
Staff were really helpful and location is great. Staff provided us with a really great map which also contained plenty of self-help info on the local area (to save us having to ask them for every little thing). Room was big and clean. A little nosy as there was construction across the road and other guests sat and chatted on the sofas outside the rooms instead of using the upstairs common area. Breakfast was lovely and there's even an English book swap! Would definitely recommend!
As a 1 night stop over it was perfect as it was close to the airport (exactly what we wanted). Seems to have a mix of one-night airport goers & long-term locals who are for whatever reason needing somewhere to live in-between homes. Kitchen was big and well equipped, lounge good but tattered furniture. Rooms were small, worn and in need of some airing. If you're staying overnight waiting for a flight I'd advise to arrive late, go out for food and then go to the airport as soon as check-in opens!
Lovely hotel with good hostel-esk common areas. Nice sized rooms with good quality bedding and good aircon/heater combos. Would stay again!
Nice enough place with a nice vibe in the internet area. 5 floors up with no lift was a little tedious with our heavy bags but it was mentioned in other reviews so didn't come as a surprise. I'm pretty sure our room for 2 was just a room for 1 but with an extra bed/mat in it (the room was so small we couldn't actually lay both mats next to each other without overlap and our bags had to be wedged in the doorway. Next time we'd book 2 single rooms (same price) and use one for our bags!

Lovely traditional guest house with huge rooms and lovely baths! About a 30min walk out of town/tourist area but that's precisely why I chose it! A little haven!
Lovely hotel on the outskirts of town. Good location for walking in the hills but a little bit of a walk to the main part of town (30 or so minutes). Lovely old-style hotel with communal baths, comfy Japanese beds and a lovely slow, relaxing vibe. Room was surprisingly large! If you're a lone traveller it may be a little quiet and so I'd suggest staying in town instead.
Lovely hostel, would stay again. Clean, good sized kitchen, common room and lounge. Lots of clean toilets and showers.
Really awesome place - in fact it's the nicest place I've stayed in the last 5 months!! Really new, clean, beautiful, good number of showers, plenty of communal area, generous breakfast, good bikes for rent - all good - THANK YOU!
Nice place to spend one night. Location is good for visiting castle and finding food etc. Basic facilities and small seating area for relaxing, a little small when full and not much space for bags in the dorms (especially the girls dorm). Nice enough place though for a short stop.
Nice hostel for one night although rooms were a little small (especially the girls dorm).
Nice hotel, rather than hostel. Room was small (but then again all of them in Japan are!) but clean. Shower/bathroom area was big. Whilst there isn't much atmosphere it's a nice enough place, staff are friendly and speak English and there is a good amount of common space around reception. Great location!
Nice hostel - sturdy beds, clean, good bathrooms and nice kitchen/common area.
Lovely Japanese house, small but everything you need. Breakfast included. Some reviews said it was a little far out of town but it's on a direct tram line to all the main attractions.
Lovely hotel, rather than hostel. Rooms are very small with Japanese style mats to sleep on. If you're not planning to spend much time in your room, simply want you own space (regardless of room size) or are just staying overnight then it is perfect. 5 mins by foot from train station, 8min to entertainment area
Nice hostel/hotel, well located and very clean. Staff weren't permanently on hand (there was a phone to call them on) but this wasn't a problem as all the bus routes etc for the main attractions were on the back of the room doors. Breakfast included was egg, toast, jam and tea/coffee - all DIY but nice touch.
Hostel's in a great location and the rooms were clean. Lovely big dorms and sturdy beds. Lots of Wifi connections but not many of them were stable. Would stay again.
Hostel was pretty much as expected having read other reviews...dorm is 5 mins walk from reception, staff are at reception so you're much left to your own devices. Pros - clean, free laundry, welcome pack. Cons - lack of staff and common room proximity makes it a little lonely and lacking vibe. Also the bedding isn't long enough for the beds and my bed had a broken slat making it a little uncomfortable. I'd recommend the owners consider buying bigger sheets.
Excellent hostel - amazing staff/owner, location and vibe! It's like a home away from home!! Will definitely stay here again if I re-visit Seoul!! Thanks guys (and I look forward to pics of the bus!!)

Excellent hostel - thank you!!
Really lovely place, feels like a home away from home! Staff are excellent and have really thought about what a traveller wants/needs to feel comfortable and welcome! I planned to stay 5 days, I'm tempted to stay here for the full 3 weeks of my trip!
Pros: Great location, huge outdoor seating area, lovely vibe, cheap, really big dorms (12 bed rooms at least, I glanced into the 4 bed dorms and they looked small). Cons: No free drinking water, not that many toilets/showers, no lockers big enough for a day bag, I wasn't given a dorm key as noone locks the doors. Saying that I'd happily stay there again!
Excellent brand new hostel! Would stay here again! The owner was really helpful and welcoming. Highlight has got to be the provision of chargers in every locker...not seen that before and it's a great idea! Thanks for a lovely couple of days.
This hostel was ok-ish given the price and for 1 or 2 nights but my room was damp and the toilets/showers were extremely basic and not overly clean. I wouldn't stay again.
Location is good in terms of the buses you're able to catch to the major tourists attractions but it's a little far from the train station and good food requires you to wander around a little. Big common area (although it gets particularly hot during the day!). Room was nice and big. Bathroom could have done with an extra scrub. Staff didn't speak much English at all but were willing to use online translation tools to help, full bus+attraction signs printed on wall in English so all good!
Nice hostel with a good vibe. Location isn't amazing but it's not too bad and the city is easy to navigate by bus/foot/train even for a non-Chinese speaker like myself. Good quality beds and linen. Wifi was a bit patchy but otherwise all good. Would stay again.
Really beautiful hostel in one of the older parts of town - so much character! Hostel is a little old so beds are a little ricketty and bathrooms a little old but that all adds to the charm! Free map was really useful. There was a little confusion as to whether or not breakfast was included in the price (website lists boths included and not included) so I felt a little awkward having to ask each morning and seeing what turned up. Really enjoyed my stay here - Thank You
Nice hostel, lots of seating outside. Really enjoyed my stay here
Nice clean hostel. Only downside is location - 10min from an underground station and the main cultural/historic sights are all about a 30/40 min ride away. The newer part of town is pretty close though. Would stay again
Whilst the bedding was clean and good quality the floors were dirty and the bins were full (despite a fellow room mate saying he'd asked several times for the rooms to be clean). I stayed in a dorm for 6 people but they seemed to be shuffling people between rooms every other night and about 8 people were currently storing their bags in our shoe-box sized room. THE TOILETS WERE THE MOST DISGUSTING I'VE EVER SEEN and again the staff refused to acknowledge that cleaning was required.

Nice hostel with quite a lively, party vibe. Atmosphere was really inclusive with trips/evenings out being arranged every other day and open for all to join. Clean bedrooms and bathrooms, tea and coffee available all day.
Nice enough hotel but nothing particularly special about it that's worth a mention. If you're looking for a lower-end hotel then this is good value for money - rooms are clean and breakfast generous.
I love this hostel! Have stayed there 3 times and it really is my home away from home. Owner and staff are amazing, rooms are big and clean and there's more showers that you could ever possibly start to count!!
So many showers and amazingly friendly staff. This is a hostel that's been built with back-packers in mind! Very clean and comfy!!
I booked for 1 night but decided to stay for 8 days. Hot water and Aircon in a dorm for such a low price - amazing! I looked at a number of other local hotels and there were private rooms for a slightly higher price (20k IDR more) but they only had fans and cold water and nowhere to sit outside. The staff here are amazing and I can't thank them enough for making me feel at home! The current map for this place is wrong though, it's located in the south near lots of nice restaraunts
Granny's has an amazing atmosphere and I can see why so many people had extended their stay. In the evening everyone sat outside chatting to each other and a bunch of locals and listening to the guitar. Was like staying with a big, happy, international family + I wish I'd had time to stay longe
Really enjoyed my time here and would recommend this to anyone whether youre looking for a dorm (the rooms are huge) or looking for a private room. I was booked into the dorm for 3 nights but because there was a group booking of 10 guys all from the same football team booked in for the same night so they upgraded me to my own room so I'd more comfortable. Pool and cafe area are great places to meet people. The Island is an oasis in Kuta - thank you!
Lovely hotel although my room was a little noisy on account of the wood/net windows rather than glass. Staff very friendly and breakfast was much appreciated! Thanks for a nice stay.
Quite a party hostel so if you want something peaceful and traditionally Vietnamese this isn't the place for you. The facilities and the staff were excellent though particularly the amount of common area and the size of the storage facilities under the bed. Would stay here, or in any of their other branches, again,
Really nice hostel, good vibe etc. Nice sized rooms and lots of common space (including a pool table!!). Location is a little far north in the city but in reality the city isn't that big so it's not a real problem. Easy to access from the station (one bus).

Absolutely stunning place - we couldn't believe just how pretty it was! As well as our beautiful hut there was both a private and communal outdoor seating area with free (quality) tea/coffee with real milk(!), water and juices all day long. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The power blew in our hut and so the owner refunded our money and paid for us to stay nearby for the remainder of our stay - far beyond the kindness I've experienced anywhere else - THANK YOU!
Such a lovely hostel and the staff were amazing, such a relaxed atmosphere almost like a mini-retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms were minimal but cool, very clean and included all the essentials - only bottom sheet and silk cover provided to sleep under so you may want to take your own sleeping bag liner. Breakfast was lovely and the hostel sells cheap snacks/drinks so you're never left without. A little walk from Koasan Road but not too far, would definately stay again.
If you like purpose built resorts & don't mind paying a premium for everything this place would be lovely. We stayed in the beach huts which were quite charming as was the setting. The immediate beach area was spotless but as you wandered to the far corners it was pretty disgusting. The resorts take over the top corner of the island and they charge 110 SGD to take you by car to either of the local towns which sound like they're not overly exciting. Meant to stay 3 days but came home after 1.

AMAZING place, well located with so many beautiful sites very close by. Great character and charm and lovely downstairs seating area. Loos and shower upstairs were spotless. Fruit and toast at breakfast an added bonus. Only negative was that the walls were thin and you could hear through the floors, having said that it didn't bother me that much as it added to the charm. Really stunning hostel with excellent quality beds :)
I read the previous reviews and despite them not being great being and a distinct lack of pictures I booked anyway drawn by the loctaion - what I didn't realise was that 3m from the shore means that water is splashing up through the decking outside your bedroom door which incidently opens right onto the bar (so no privacy). Bed not made, linin dirty, no towels or loo roll, pile of junk mail on table and disgusting bathroom with cockroaches - we left immediately and stayed next door for less! EEW
Lovely new clean hostel! It's located a couple of streets back from the bustling market so you get the benefit of being close without all the noise. Really helpful staff and lovely seating/eating area with magasines, games and TV. Only one shower/loo per gender but only had to wait once so that's fine and always spotlessly clean - would definately stay again! THANK YOU!
Staff were friendly, kitchens and rooms really clean and large enough for all. Not many toilets/showers at all but only had to wait once so wasn't really a problem. Would recommend the 6bed dorms over the 16bed ones. Would definately stay again.
