The staff were quite cold, but the room was fantastic, lots of character. Agree with previous reviews that there needs to be fans in the rooms, we were there in fall and it was still a bit muggy. The free breakfast is fun, but there are only two waffle irons so when it's busy and you have people making three servings in a row be prepared to wait around in the tiny kitchen.

Stayed here when I saw its awesome reviews, when we would have had to pay the same or more for a 'hotel' with average reviews. What a great choice. The double bed private was just like a hotel room, new, clean, no smoky smell, and a private ensuite. Staff were efficient and friendly and the location in Asakusa was perfect for wandering. Would definitely stay again.
Thank you very much for your lovely comment. We are very happy to hear that.We are all looking forward to seeing you again.

Yort was the most unhelpful hostel staff member I have met in Asia. I marked staff as average because the rest of the staff were so lovely - he really let the team down. We arranged a pickup from the bus station with him and they were an hour late. We called to see if there was a problem and Yort hung up on us. We arrived and he couldn't tell us where anything was, and when we needed to book a service the hostel didn't book, he shut down completely. Ended up booking everything at Happy hostel.

Although it can be a little bit off putting walking down the narrow alley to find Vy Khanh, once you are upstairs in your room it is well worth it. We booked a 'super room' which is private with private bathroom, and it was so clean, modern and nice! It is located right in the centre of the backpackers district, so everything is easily accessible. Staff were lovely and helped us out with directions and currency exchange. Thank you!

The staff here were so friendly and helpful I couldn't believe it! They also offered the market rate of exchange which is much appreciated after others trying to rip you off. There's a water dispenser in the lobby which is free to refill your bottles, and free wifi in the lobby too. We also stayed across the road at Koto hotel, their sister company, which had a very good air conditioned private room! Thank you to the staff for all their help.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Masa our host was very nice and helpful, the rooms are airy and clean, and the beach is only 3 minutes away.

Such a beautiful house to stay in. Our private room was big and very nicely appointed. The kitchen and living area is welcoming and cosy. Our host was lovely and had very good english. Would definitely recommend.

Everything was clean and that was much appreciated. There are not enough showers, the walls are very thin, but it is worth the price. The disappointing thing was the staff. We asked for help booking a bus, and were immediately given a disclaimer about how the hotel could not be held responsible, they don't usually offer that service, and we would be to blame for any problems etc. Was a shock after the Japanese hospitality we have enjoyed before, especially when we just wanted to make inquiries.

Thank you so much for our stay in A-yado! Had to move rooms twice but it was no problem, and I was able to check in early. The female dorms are a bit tight, but still nice, with curtains around the beds for privacy. The sinks and showers are in the dorms, so can be a bit noisy in the girls, where everything is so close, but as a heavy sleeper it was not problem for me. Also beware of karaoke bar in same building, again, may prove a problem for light sleepers.
Thank you! We were worring if moving the rooms were bad for you. But, you give us good words. Thank you. The curtains are nice way for pfivacy. We are just tiny hostel. So sometimes it's not really good for the tinyness. For light sleeprs we offer to buy a earplugs at our front desk, if it's noisy depending on the days. Thank you for staying with us! And thank you for your comment!

Great location, right next to ferry terminal to get you to Miyajima. Dorms are pretty basic. Only two showers.

Nice hostel, the private rooms were lovely. Easy walk from the Hiroshima bus centre, in a cute street. Need more bathrooms though!
