Jajce Youth Hostel

Jajce, Bosnia And Herzegovina

The hostel is a little outside of town, but only 5 or 10 minutes walk as the town is so little. The room I was in had 2 beds, though I signed up for a dorm. It was clean and very average, though there was no atmosphere and seemed slightly like an abandoned hospital or orphanage, perhaps due to the lack of people. The staff was kind.

Hostel Miran

Mostar, Bosnia And Herzegovina

Miran is a character. A strong character, but if you're upbeat and energetic this is the place. Miran knows all of his guests and is on top of everything. He always gives a daily tour (it's expensive but worth it) and takes you around the region throughout a full day explaining the history and culture of the area. The hostel itself is fine, clean an quiet, 5 or 10 minutes from the center of town.

Hostel Villa Angelina Old Town

Dubrovnik, Croatia

This hostel is great because it's in the old town, so close to everything and has that old town feel. The terrace is really nice to hang out and have a drink or meet people, though the rooms were very very small and cramped. All in all a very nice hostel that wins out for location and friendly staff.

El Diablo Hostel Belgrade

Belgrade, Serbia

Diablo hostel was excellent, the rooms were air conditioned which was a great help in August heat! The common area is small but usually there are people milling around making coffee, food, or chatting with the staff. One of the staff members is SO funny, it's worth it to go and talk with him. Hilarious and cynical and crass. There was also a small terrace on the roof as an additional common space. I would go back.

The hostel was simple, clean, pretty central, and quiet. Not much atmosphere, though we only stayed one night.

Great hostel-was plenty warm in the surprisingly cold Maltese winter, hot shower, nice people, EXCELLENT breakfast included in the price. Would definitely repeat.

Hospedaje Kati

Not exactly your average hostel, but the seƱora who runs the place is a character, very helpful and kind. The location couldn't be better, right in the center of the old town, on one of the main pincho bar streets. There is also a beautiful terrace that you are free to use. No kitchen though.

There was no free internet, but the location was so great for the price we paid. Clean and not too loud considering it's location.

Though The Independente just opened, it is a beautiful hostel right in the heart of Lisbon. The staff was super friendly and engaging, and the breakfast was great! (Not your average hostel breakfast). The bunks are 3-beds high, and sway a bit when people are walking around, but not a problem unless your a very light sleeper. Lastly, be sure to take the walking tour, it's offered twice a day and will show you all the best places in Lisbon to explore in more depth later on!
