This hostel feels more like a home, and it really is: the owner, a middle aged Mongolian woman, is friendly and very helpful in organizing tours and making your stay as smooth as possible. There is a small breakfast in the morning, tea and coffee plus a great atmosphere all day long: it's very easy to make new friends here. Been here over a week and coming back at some point in the future.
The hostel is transforming to a hotel, so don't expect much out of it. the staff was good and helpful but there was no atmosphere at all or a common area. The rooftop bar and computer rooms are closed, but if you do come for the central location and a short stay, then it's a very good call.
some members of the staff were nice in the reception, including the manager and Penny (I think she was called like this), while another girl had no idea when I asked her info about extending my visa in Guilin. The hostel is ok, not big common area and rooms not outstanding, great location though, very close to the city center and the lakes.
the beds and rooms were dusty, I kept sneezing every morning! the rooms were not very big (especially the toilets). The staff was very nice all the time, bicycle rent is cheap and many bikes to choose from. The location is not great, I mean it's very nice and quiet but to get to town one really needs 20 minutes walk, and there are no other food options around the area. Facilities were ok, the garden too but unfortunately it was too hot this time to enjoy it!
the hostel is in a good location, very close to the park (only a few minutes away). My room was a bit small and had only a window on the corridor, not the best. Staff was ok, I didn't like that the internet was not working good either wifi or common computers, and the staff itself was not any useful with it. Not a bad place to stay overall and the location was truly great (also easy to connect with the train station from the hostel)
the location is not great, a little far from the centre of the city, but plenty of cheap food options very close. The main part of the hostel is in a good condition with a quiet eating area on the second floor. Receptionists were helpful, the room was large and the toilets/shower in a good condition. The main door was broken, so not very safe, although one still needs a key to get into the room.
The 2 girls in the reception are fantastic: useful, smiling and always ready to help me when I needed. Great job, I really felt more like at home thanks to them. The rooms were large and so were the toilet/shower area on my floor. great location too, very central and but not far from the local market. I came back already and I will in the future for sure.
the hostel is divided in 3 courtyards: mine had a little door to go in and out in the evening that was hard to open, and I didn't like that there are no locks for the rooms, so during the day anyone could come in and go in the room. There were locks under my bed where I could store everything, but still not very safe. The atmosphere was not great as the common area is small, staff was helpful and very quick with my laundry. My Chinese old-style dorm room was the highlight of the hostel.
Big hostel, great location in the center of Kunming. Big room and good facilities. The male staff in the reception was poor, the girls though were very helpful. Good atmosphere and open-air area. It feels pretty safe and well cleaned, common toilets and showers very big and well kept. Computers at 3 yuan/hour, wifi everywhere. I did not like, though, that I had to pay more as the dorm I had requested was not available.
good location, nice rooms and extremely clean!
Hostel in a pretty good location, very central. Rooms are essential and not very big. It's ok though, I would stay again, as I remembered it was close to many nice places to eat.
Toilets were half of the time not flushing, common area with extremely hard benches (not even one sofa!), i found toast in the morning that looked like has been eaten by rats during the night, only 1 laundry for all the hostel. The staff was good, but i think that's one of the few things i liked. i would not come back
great location and staff, toilets and showers clean and perfectly working, i'd stay here again
the hostel has good internet and good breakfast in the morning, rooms are not big but they have locks (even if you can't lock the door of the room) small common area and there are far too many fans, not the best thing if you want to sit there after a long sweaty day! staff not too useful, for location and atmosphere i've been to better hostels in Singapore
Great terrace with view on the city, the rooms are ok (lockers included),nice tv area with great selection of dvd. free computers and wifi, both working fast; considering it has been open only one year i was really impressed. Negative: the city sucks, but that's not their fault!!
The location is not great, it takes 20 minutes walk to get to Kuta center: at the end of the day it can be pretty tiring. The great thing about the hostel is that it does feel like a family: i stayed there 2 days, and both of them ended in the garden with the owner and the rest of the staff (all locals!) singing and playing the guitar. The Norwegian owner is a really friendly and nice person, always ready to help, as the rest of the staff as well. Well done! i'd definitely come back!
The hostel was good, a lot of places to eat really close, not too far away from the beach or Seminyak square. Positive:big rooms, free internet, small but nice tv area. Negative: the toilets were always smelly and there was never toilet paper at the end of the day.
good hostel, only 15 minutes away from the beach, plus the free unlimited computer is very useful! rooms were big enough and with lockers, hot showers but the toilets were always smelly...great for meeting people and organizing everything i wanted to see and do.lots of nice places to eat in the area as well
nice rooms and beds; i was in the only one of the 3 buildings that didn't have a common area (only a big table in the kitchen) being in such destroyed city i didn't expect the atmosphere of the hostel to be so good, thanks to the staff that was always smiling and helpful
Big bathrooms and toilets, great staff to book activities with, not far from the city but enough to feel far from crowds.the negative part is that is too big, so i didn't really feel a good atmosphere during my stay.even if the hostel was good, not sure i would come back.
good location, the common area is big and has a nice fireplace, good for relaxing and socializing. The heating in my room was not great,so the room was not warm enough. The toilets always had a really wet floor, which didn't make them look too clean.Staff helpful in solving problems and booking activities/buses
small hostel, rooms can not be locked which is not very safe;bathrooms are small as well.Great idea the free chocolate pudding in the evening, but I wasn't really impressed by the atmosphere.
The atmosphere was not great, a lot of people but not a real meeting area, only a big TV room with people passing between you and the TV to go to the kitchen.towel rent 5$+20$deposit!staff was really good and helpful,I booked my ferry with them.Great idea the meal in the bar closeby, even if the portion was pretty small.
great hostel.really cozy, makes you feel like home.Kitchen well organized and equipped, nice showers and toilets, comfy (but a bit small) TV area. It`s really close to everything in Rotorua, expecially the Polynesian Spa (that I recommend). I will never forget the time I spent in there.
Good location, only 15 minutes away from the center of the city;I had a nice big room and a comfy bed, there is also a tv room with a wood stove in it,perfect if you want to chill out.The best though was Steve from the staff, really enthusiastic and friendly,he helped me with everything I needed.Recommended
good hostel, nice common area, good staff and reception service:the bus service to and from the city is very useful(not too far to walk anyway).small but clean toilets, great showers and the room was big enough, but it didn't look like anybody cleaned it during the 4 days i was there.the kitchen is too small for such hostel,i always had to wait to be able to cook without too many people around.good security, day and night, and helpful staff, always ready to organize tours and activities in the area.
i was just there for 1 day, i was upgraded from a 12 to a 3 bed dorm, which was really small, it was difficult to get in because of the 3 suitcases on the floor. The pillow was covered with PVC so it was not comfy at all, and the air con in the night was so strong i had to sleep with my clothes on! positive:really big terrace and kitchen, nice movie room with plenty of movies everyday. No keys to get in the building also in the night though,so i think not 100%safe(night staff was not always there)
i stayed only one day in the hostel, but the experience was good! The room was big and toilets in the room and in the corridor were really clean, there are 2 tv with sofas, but there isnot a proper lounge room, even if there is a garden with tables to enjoy the warm evenings/night(and it's open until late!) good facilities and atmosphere, easy to socialize with other people expecially in the garden and kitchen. Internet is not free, but just 3$/hr. Good value for money,i'd definitely come back!
Positive: always clean toilet&showers, big common area, large rooms, swimming pool (even if it closes at 9pm) Negative: my room was dusty and didn't look like somebody was coming and cleaning it, it's minimum 10 min walk to everything, from the places to eat to the bus stop to go to the city(at least it's free)..Another negative is the internet connection:10 dollars for 2h45min and you can only use it in the reception!it's good that is a big hostel so anyway it's always easy to socialize!
really nice hostel in bratislava.. close to the city center (just a 5 minutes walk) this hostel has great personality: a big room with tables, 4 computers and a bar 24/7 create a good atmosphere in every moment of the day. The staff is helpful and they recommended us the best places to go to eat in the city. Pretty clean and large rooms, a big kitchen and a safe access to the building also make this hostel a great hostel to stay in!
the hostel is always open in the night so you don't need the key, also for your room that opens with a combination, which is not so safe..good location close to the castle and the loch ness museum.. the great thing about the hostel is the staff, really friendly! i socialized immedialty with them, expecially Ellie and Jonathan. i will come back!
the hostel has a great location, i was in a room with a lot of space and it's really great they give you the key for the locker and also for the safe (that is inside the locker) negative thing is that there are no plug in in the room so you have to go in the common areas. friendly and helpful staff (they suggested me a great place for breakfast!) definitely come back
nice hostel, they offer you a glass of wine with the check in! (that i accepted even if it was 2pm) the staff is helpful and there are 4 computers that you can use for free, so it's easy to know how to get around. Big kitchen, if you want you can also have breakfast there(not included) rooms are big and clean, the only negative thing is that there's not a guest room where you can meet up other people, but a part from that a really nice place to stay. i would come back!
I really enjoyed my 4 days in the hostel, the breakfast in the morning was really good, the room clean and with lockers under every bed. But the best thing is the location, about 10 minutes walking from Trinity college. i would come back for sure!
