Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is cheap and good quality, dinner is also reasonable too. Free drinking water is a bonus as is the self-cook kitchen/fridge/freezer (although dirty pots and dishes tend to remain there). Rooms are decent, mosquito nets, hot showers. Wifi is paid for and only in common areas, Location isn't the best - located a 15min walk from shops/restaurants which they don't recommend at night, or a taxi for K20 (sometimes taxis will try charge you up to K30).
Great location in the old town. Near many of the platz, the base of the cablecar, the road to walk to Schloss and the main street for celebrations or wandering. Host was friendly and understanding (as I booked the wrong date initially). Beds are comfortable, lockers are secure, bathrooms clean and good hot water in the showers. It was a quiet weekday in winter, so there wasn't much socialising going on. The communal area is like a living room - cosy with potential. Good free wifi too.
Outstanding place - I shared a 4 bed dorm. Wifi in the common area is fast and reliable and lots of people sit around together to use it. Dorms are clean, nice spacious bathroom, each bed has its own light, powerpoint and small ledge to hold your phone. All room keys double as locker keys for safety in the room. The common area can be noisy as there is a bar within the venue also, but you can't hear anything from the dorm rooms. Location across Nashmarkt is great also, with a metro 5mins walk.
stayed in a double room on 3rd floor facing the street. the best and worst thing is location - fantastically close to taksim square/transport, lots of good food and nice bars/hookah places; but on friday/saturday/sunday nights it is a loud neighbourhood with thumping bass until 4am+. so if u go for a night out, it's fantastic atmosphere. if u want to sleep to wake early for sights, it's difficult. staff are the best though - helpful in every way, friendly, always concerned with your welfare.

was only there for a quick 2 nights. the reason i chose it was for location. the hostel is located directly opposite the train station entrance, hammersmith is fantastic for transport. easy to access heathrow by metro/bus at any time, and not too hard to get to gatwick. one bus or metro gets you to most places in london. it seems to be a loud neighbourhood. the pub noise doesn't reach the 3rd floor but there's a lot of police/ambulance/car noise outside. also the morning light wakes u up early
very clean, great staff, 25min walk/5min tram to dam. location safe&fine as go out to party then hostel for peace. narrow room lockers for clothes/valuables, only daypacks may fit. small bag locks fit it, if u dont have ur own bag lock, u dont care about security anyway so dont complain - most hostels u keep bag on room floor. 1 powersocket per room is bad (6ppl). net 3E/hr exp. b'fast great, everyone comes 945 so line is long, moves fast, u wont be shut out. use daily walking tour to meet ppl
location great near the station, although much further down the roads can feel a bit intimidating at night by groups of men in the street. but lots of detours to make it fine. outstanding staff, speak english, always very helpful. stayed in private & dorm room - both very clean, lots of floorspace for luggage, HUGE bathrooms and good handheld showers with hot water. unfortunately no cooking facilities (has microwave + kettle) to take advantage of the local fresh seafood. will stay again for sure
Good location, only 5 mins walk from station. Breakfast is excellent, served next door at 4-star Hotel Metropol. Single rooms are a little small and cramped, but good enough. Room has wardrobe, sink, mirror, tv, 3 towels and a cloth. Beds are firm. Good all around.
