Hostel Point, Rosario, Argentina
8.0
2nd May 2017

The atmosphere was lacking but to be fair, it was midweek and I think Rosario is quiet outside of the weekends. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but often not completely clean. Breakfast was standard for Argentina, the men's bathrooms were OK although, there was no lock on the door and there is only one toilet. The women's bathrooms were not clean and didn't have locks on any of the doors. The living space was fairly comfortable with lots of guitars and a flat screen TV.

Rock hostel has a great party vibe but if you're looking to relax, I'd say find somewhere else. (To be fair, it is called rock hostel!) The kitchen is tiny and badly equipped and the bathrooms aren't great. On the positive side, it is right next to congress, has a buzzing atmosphere and friendly staff. They also have some nice artisan beers for anybody who likes a bit of flavour in their alcohol. :)

Good but not great. The staff are right outside the dorm and talk with some guests extremely loudly until 2am or later, which is not great if your not up for a party that night. The location is good in terms of being near the train station but is more than 30 minutes away from the old town. The showers are mixed with not much room for changing. The atmosphere is really good though, they have a guitar and some really great common areas plus the hostel seems to be cleaned very regularly!

Good overall hostel. The bathroom floor is often wet because the bathrooms are too small. There are only two toilets between about 30 or 40 people so the mornings can be a little painful. The kitchen is also small so breakfast can be awkward too. The breakfast is however very good for the price. The staff are also extremely friendly and helpful and the location is great. We'd probably stay again.

Really great hostel. The staff are really friendly and the bathrooms are more like that of a hotel than a hostel (especially in the private area upstairs). Although, we only stayed one night, we took a lot of notice of the kitchen upstairs as we regularly do and it is extremely well equipped. The only let down was that the bed was a bit too soft. Otherwise, I'd recommend this hostel to anyone.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. It is small and cozy with Dada an awesome host. She fed us when we got there just to say hello and had loads of information about all of the surrounding area on her walls. We were right next to the centre and even closer to the main bus terminal. The only slight let down was the atmosphere but I think that's just because it's winter and there was no-one there. In the summer, there is a kitchen area and a living room area to chat in.

Really nice place with awesome staff. It's well secured and in a perfect location right next to the main square. Only slight let down is the breakfast but I think they already know this. (It's just bread and jam). One last thing, their walking directions are not great. Make sure you check it on google maps. (I've sent an email to them with my suggestion so hopefully they update it for you).

Mixed feelings about this place. They lost our booking before we got there and they are really difficult to find. There is no sign outside the door to say where the main reception is so we had to ask at the gym downstairs. Once they realised there was an error, they were really helpful and although they'd double booked us, they put us up in a lovely apartment around the corner. The staff are really friendly and the breakfast is great. Massive rooms, very quiet location, lacking atmosphere.

We are reviewing this property a little after our stay so memories are a bit vague but all in all, it was a nice hotel. It is cheap for a hotel, they have nice doormen and a decent breakfast. It is clean and we would stay again.

This review is a bit late so my memories aren't perfect. The location was decent and it was secure but the kitchen was tiny and the rooms were quite cramped. For Toronto, it was OK value for money and clearly it was liked by people over thanksgiving as we had to move out! I would stay there again but only if they were the cheapest option by quite a way.

Unfortunately, I am reviewing this a few months after we stayed so it won't be as accurate as usual but if memory serves, it was a very clean comfortable hostel with a huge kitchen. They were just opening this property as they have another elsewhere. It was located a little far from town but in quite a safe neighbourhood. I would probably stay again.

Nice HOTEL (Not a hostel), which is why the atmosphere was only average. Friendly staff and very very clean. The location is right in the centre of Madrid and it's very secure. Towels are really small for a shower (judging on hotel standards as the fact you get a free towel is good by hostel standards). Cheap for a twin room in the centre of Madrid although we booked a double bed room and got two separate beds. Would recommend for a couple on a budget.

Nice enough hostel if you're wanting to party and not sleep very much. Had some great ideas but didn't implement them very well. Ivan was great and helped me with Spanish and gave a great restaurant recommendation. . The rest of the staff were OK but they were reactive (eg, had to ask for a map, which was hidden behind the desk). Lockers big enough for your bag are a great idea in theory but the doors meant that you had to drag them out to get anything and they make a lot of noise in the night.

Dear client, Thank you so much for your comment and for mentioning me, especially. :) Sorry about inconvinience, however you could have mentioned it to the reception, and as we are helpfull, we would assist you with everything. Best regards, Ivan The River Hostel

Great hostel, really nice staff in a great location. It's very secure and it's cosy. If you're looking for a party it might be a bit quiet but we liked that. The only downside is that the kitchen is tiny. (House kitchen size) but it did have fairly decent equipment. Would definitely stay again.

Awesome hostel, Frederico is a great host, the rest of the staff were nice too. There is a party atmosphere until about 11.30pm then they make sure it's quiet so people can actually sleep. Nice Paella for free the night we arrived and loads of info about Barcelona. Big kitchen, decent showers although the door was very sticky on one. Nice beds too. Could do with some better kitchen equipment but I'm being overly critical.

Great place to stay and Tracy is a gem! Looked after us the whole time and seems to take on guests as if they're family. Kitchen is a little small and the shower heads don't produce a lot of water but they are very small problems in a truly great hostel. Would stay there every time I go to Cork.

Would not stay here again! Don't know how it has such a high rating. We started the stay by getting a room with no space to sleep on the bed as it was next to a slanted roof with panels sticking out. They could not move us and didn't really try. There were loads of school children staying, not really what you'd expect in a hostel. They made us check out, then back in to the same room! On the bright side, they had free tea and coffee!

Nice place all in all but could do with some improvement. Kitchen is huge, which is great but they are lacking in equipment. Good security on the doors but no room lockers. Atmosphere was a bit dull as they close reception at 11 and that then makes everyone move into main building. This causes a lot of noise.

Decent stay all in all. Very small lockers and a severe lack of plug sockets in the room let it down but helpful staff, a fantastic location and a pool table brought it back up. Personally, I wouldn't have wasted space on a bath in the toilets as you could create room for more showers. They had shreddies (or equivalent) at breakfast, which is always a plus for me. (I realise this will not be a key point for most people! :) )

Great hostel, really colourful and vibrant with lots of amenities. Now many negatives, breakfast isn't the best (you pay for that separately though) and some rooms have unisex bathrooms, which my girlfriend and some other friends are not big fans of. Common room is great though, nice small bar, which doesn't project noise to the dorms and great security, including an awesome baggage storage system if you've checked out.

Nice place but the common room is too close to the dorms meaning people who want to be a bit louder in the evenings can't or people who want to sleep can't because people are being to loud. Another negative is security, lockers are good but it is very easy to get into the hostel and any room without being noticed. Staff were lovely though especially Ania who taught us Polish and told us loads of things to do. The location is also fantastic and they have free tea and coffee! :)

Really great hosts, Achmed looked after us, the rooms were very Moroccan and really comfortable. It was a little quiet and really hard to find but otherwise, it was fantastic. Advice when getting there, get a taxi/ bus to Jemaa El Fina, then make sure you stay on the right side of the square but continue straight all the way through. From there, take the second left and then the third left after that, it looks like a small alleyway but the street name is on the right hand side.

Not a bad hostel but we've stayed in much better. The lady on reception on our first night (18/03/2013) was very helpful and welcomed us kindly but it was a stark contrast the following morning at 11am when the lady on duty decided it was not her job to talk to us, help us find our way to the airport, smile, or even look at us. Maybe it isn't but it should be and that let the hostel down a lot. Either she needs to be trained by the evening lady or she needs to be replaced!

A damp smell when you walk in and a manager (Mr Hassan) who is not aware of the role of customer service made for a bad review of this hotel. The rooms are not great but OK, the location isn't great and there is a city tax added to the price, which before we got there was not advertised on the hostel-world website. (After my complaint, it now should be). Main complaint is customer service though.
